Ship in Dock!
The ship is in. A seaworthy vessel with no rival.
We're setting sail somewhere in the future and will be afloat for an undetermined length of time. If boarding, please bring your baggage portside aft, and come on deck at your convenience.
And personal to me, as I am facing yet another move. What to take, what to leave, what to pack for later review, physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, the whole she-bang.
Our books, too, of course. A library of over 30 bookcases. What to take, what to box.
I do know the kitchen has a west window and door and the living space faces east. That I can live with.
And here I'd let Aries have her head and lope off into the wild on her own. Now of course, she's going to come galloping back to see where we're going and demand to take the lead. I sort of liked knowing she was off out and about on her own, she can be such a pain when she thinks she's in charge of the herd.
My question has always been, what kind of protection could be around that brain to get banged like that and still be able to find its way down the mountain path?
"Among the People, a child's first Teaching is of the Four Great Powers of the Medicine Wheel. To the North is found Wisdom. The South is the place of Innocence and Trust. The West is the Looks-Within Place, which speaks to our introspective Nature. The East is the Place of Illumination, where we can see things clearly, far and wide....
"At birth, each of us is given a particular Beginning Place within these Four Great Directions. This Starting Place gives us our first way of perceiving things, which will then be our easiest and most natural way througout our lives. But any person who perceives from only one of these Four Great Directions will remain a partial man." - from The Seven Arrows by Hyemeyohsts Storm
I seem to prefer South facing dwellings but my new house faces East....
Apt image, as always!

I'll join you on the deck with some green tea!

ReplyDeleteMaybe she could stay with Aunt Mabel?

ARIES AHOY!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe she could stay with Aunt Mabel?
Hey hey everybody!
Almost all the places I live face West. Not intentionally. I wonder why. Maybe because I'm a night person so my day begins then.
ReplyDeleteThe odd thing was when I had that rough stretch of life several years ago, I faced South. When the healing was well underway, I moved back West.
I'm an east-facing person (and early pre-dawn riser, hummm?!), but I LOVE a west or south-facing kitchen.
ReplyDeleteAries cabled and said she'd be fine staying with Aunt Mabel. I don't think she's ready to come home yet. @;-) kj

ReplyDeleteJust like her.
You know, the ram butting ram is the Aries image.

The comments about house-facing put me in mind of this:

Meristem this is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe South really fits that time in my life. My bedroom faces East. Illumination in dreams?
The new house. What an event.

ReplyDeleteMeristam, we do read the same books. :-)
JM, illumination in dreams? OMG, that's a great thought! My new sleeping window will face West, hmmm.
Off to join day! ~~kj
