And So it Begins
He, along with many of the new cabinet members, are heavily entrenched in the American government's ring of corruption, precisely what the nation needs to discover and root out. Richardson was born on November 15, 1947, at 11:35 AM, Pasadena, California. He is exactly the kind of leader we don't need for the future. He has Sun on the Midheaven and Mercury in Scorpio square Mars, Saturn, and Pluto in Leo in the 7th. Here is a man absorbed in his own desires and urge for ego gratification through horrendous control struggles with others, and little chance to do for the collective despite an Aquarius rising. The Saturn-Plutos in Leo are a problem. Believe me, I know. And now is not the time for them only insofar as they point us away from the Saturn-Pluto negatives we face. No surprise that he entered politics with his packed 10th house and Moon in the 11th. But the major impediment is his south node on the Midheaven. Not good. The south node in Scorpio is the killer in that configuration and portends an impossible conflict with authority that is best remedied by exiting altogether, not that he will. Sun conjunct the south makes his search for a healthy ego very very difficult indeed, and instead of battling others, he would best find it through harmony and love through his 7th house stellium. Hardly to be found in politics. Coming home to his north node in the 4th would be good for all of us. When he and Clinton were chosen as possibilities for the post of Secretary of State I thought he might be a slightly better choice, but after a closer look I discovered I was mistaken. They have the same astrological setups and the country would do better if these kinds of politicians were done away with considering the needs of the present. So it's possible, even if it takes time. And only after the people begin to recognize their complicity and their habit of overlooking the truth staring at them so consistently. And using scapegoats. Perhaps Pluto in Capricorn can start to remedy that practice.
The repeat of the Saturn-Pluto uncontrolled desire for material power and the roadblocks trying to guide the natives, including this country as a whole, caught my attention as one of many repeats in the new administration appointees who are trapped in this web, examples of the problems inherent in USA Pluto in Capricorn and her south node in the 2nd. The Pluto return is ripe with knowledge waiting to be consumed.
This is the first step in the big lesson ahead -- that it was not George Bush who did it. It wasn't even the Republicans. We all did it in our lust for commodities and the criminal means sanctioned to satisfy these desires, a trademark of the current system, a complicated one created by the government and the governed all together. The problems that led to the last uncomfortable eight years remain. This departure has been quickly shoved under the expensive rug so the new dazzling chief executive cannot be blamed, but eventually the truth will out. The problems are pervasive.
With Moon at 29 Scorpio in the new administration's chart I can't imagine that the plumbing won't proceed with vigor. There certainly is enough Plutonian energy in the group and not much evidence of evolution beyond the lust for power. They're scrambling now as the corruption surfaces daily. The realization must come that the disease is in both political parties and the scent of power and money has lured and sickened the majority of them. The weight of big money (Pluto in Capricorn) is now weighing on the system threatening its survival. The last campaign was obscene in the amount spent. If some real reform were on the horizon it would matter not, but the appearance of the new appointees proves otherwise.
It's impossible to say how and when the reform will come. How many more trillions the people will throw at their politicians before they catch on. Before a slight downturn in obedience marks the rise of autonomy, possibly with the Uranus-Pluto square. The recent bailout was a start. If the elimination were as easy as Bill Richardson's exit then I wouldn't think much about it, but somehow I doubt that will be the case. The bad sign is the fact that the public isn't getting this one, but with parties scheduled, it's not surprising.
I was thinking of the Depression and how dramatically the reality led to the temporary fix that worked at the time. This time is different. I think the problem has dug deeper and might not emerge so quickly and obviously. The ideal conclusion would be real reform -- an understanding that it wasn't the wealthy who caused it. They were the result. The underlying dynamic remains that elevates the wealthy class, continues to support them at great loss, aspires to be like them, and refuses to take responsibility for the corrections all societies are constantly faced with having to enact. Everyone contributes to the breakdowns. The endless contracts we make in a daunting world.
There's a strange sort of joy, I've discovered, in acknowledging the truth and getting ready to heal, even with pain ahead. To be fair, I'd give this country until the Pluto return and on through Aquarius, and even through Pisces to begin to get to the root of her disease and change her relationship with material wealth enough to create a truly healthy society, the promise of a north node in the 8th. Psychological, emotional, and ultimately spiritual well-being. It's a long road but within the twists and turns are pockets of contentment for those who choose to learn quickly or by the luck of the draw .... already know.
