One Person, One Vote

It used to be "One man, one vote". Women have made gains in this country. The work to end disenfranchisement of minorities has not, however. Vote tampering is the issue of most importance facing the United States today. You can't have a democracy without voter guarantee, and your favorite people and policies won't succeed without it.
One year after the Civil Rights Act became law, the Voting Rights Act was signed on August 6, 1965. Venus was conjunct Uranus at 13 Virgo, Pluto was at 14 Virgo and Saturn was at 15 Pisces. John Kerry flew to Vegas yesterday to confront the attempted voter suppression. Uranus is at 15 Pisces, where Saturn was in '65. Transiting Saturn now is in early Virgo. There seems to be a connection to the Saturn-Uranus opposition ahead and repair of the system to some degree. We will see.
I think the best thing I can do is understand my country and how my government works. And work with it. Part of the Pisces-Virgo axis could be pointing out that the people are in no way victims of the government but are, in fact, active participants. And partly responsible for the fix.

Nevada has Uranus at 29 Gemini. Vegas has Pluto at 27 Gemini. Pluto is at 29 Sagittarius. 60,000 people got their right to vote guaranteed today.

I love the rhythm.

Ya know, the contrast between your perspective and that of others is so profound that sometimes it's as though you're speaking different languages. One site I visit daily beats the drum of the imminent police-states and looming one-world-government that will brand us all like cattle and suck the life from the planet.

Then I come here and it's like watching grass, weeds and wildflowers growing through cement, cracking the pavement that everyone thought was permanent and unyielding.

You'll forgive me if I experience a little cognitive dissonance. :o)

Oh my god, joe. Omg. I needed this so. Omg.

This morning I woke up furious and wanted to post my rage but decided against it. Then I thought it best to get out altogether. I'm not in the mood for idle chat and I feel compelled to stay involved in the horrible political situation, especially seeing the metaphysics of it so clearly. Maybe I can learn to stay grassy. You can't imagine how much I've always wanted to crack the pavement but I never seem to get through. But I guess I just did. Maybe my lesson is to stay calm and centered. Then the anarchist revolutionary in me also wants expression.

the contrast between your perspective and that of others is so profound that sometimes it's as though you're speaking different languages.

This is me exactly.

The hypocrisy is overwhelming and here Pluto is at 29 exposing the truth and still it's ignored. Everybody crying for themselves and missing the path out. The gift of illumination.

I don't know what to do.

I will wait.

This country is being handed the chance of a lifetime right now and it has nothing to do with the details, ie. the personalities. I keep praying that the catharsis and elimination are going on now, but I've seen it happen before with unspectacular results, to say the least. I'm on my knees.

Here is that opportunity and it's the same crying crap about corporations yet they are willing to put the same people in power who got them here, never never once realizing that they the people created the rulership and they the people are responsible for changing it. Now is the time.

The clinging to prophets is one of the worst habits. They do not know and keep people just as oppressed.

I simply can't believe that the people are turning their backs on possibility once again allowing their free choice to be stolen.

My feeling is that you're pointing out the patterns and highlighting the hidden. I was alluding to grassroots movement earlier, because it's when you get down on the ground, you see things you don't see when you're upright and uptight. :o) And isn't grassroots where change happens?

There is a greater force at work here than we can comprehend, and I know this, but that doesn't stop me from raging at the injustices and idiocies being foisted on us from all sides.

I wish I could edit comments.

What I was trying to say earlier, also, was that the other place leaves me cold and hopeless, while coming here reminds me of those greater forces at work that not even the worst tyrant can escape or control.

Joe. All of these people are talking about their own inner prisons and inability to break free. All of them. They will probably get to their death beds waiting for the bogey man to get them. And then they'll be right. And also surprised. The fear of death is infinite.

There is absolutely no such thing as a one world police state and there never will be. There are pockets of political dictatorship and it will remain exactly so. The irony is that when they are offered a chance to break free, they refuse.

Pluto in Capricorn is NOT about a world dictatorship. It's about the deepest parts of the psyche (Pluto) and authority (Capricorn). It's about each person recognizing her-his own inner dictatorship. The government is a reflection of the psyche of the collective. I hope hope hope (not favored these days) that people begin to look at themselves.

Uranus opposite Saturn is offering the gift of a lifetime. The chance to break free a tiny bit before the trip down to Pluto's domain and release. With plenty of time to achieve it. Every single person has some of this to confront.

The government is neutral. It's a clear chalkboard on which we write our destiny.

OH MY GOD IN HEAVEN!

No one has ever been able to control me. And now I have to control myself.

Beautifully stated. Yes. A thousand yesses.

This is the bind I'm in now. I know raging doesn't help them see, only relieves my own pressure. I'm furious about the blatant voter suppression that everyone is choosing to leave behind as if it really doesn't matter. That's exactly how the Neocons got into power. Do they want more of the same? I guess so. Do they really want to re-elect filthy criminals? I guess so. How do they think we got here? Do they really want more of the same? We shall see.

This country is politically naive, and the so called political sites are experts at confusion. The predictive ones are ludicrous. Maybe the human race in its entirety is naive.

The problem I see is that those people who understand it are the ones who historically have chosen to stay out of it. Maybe this has to change.

I've noticed amongst the artists and thinkers how they long to change society yet stay on the outskirts waiting, or justifying their incapability to effect change. Maybe unity is not such a bad idea after all.

I wish people would try to understand what is happening in terms of the Independents and Republicans. They want to get rid of the extremist elements as much as the Democrats. But now it's the Democrats and so-called "progressives" that are holding up the works.

Edwards is full of shit. He's a con man. Kucinich might be a nice guy but he's certainly not a president. Ron Paul is sick. The Clintons are filthy self-serving criminals. Really. I know people can learn. I know it.

You can't pick a president just because you like him. That person is the representative abroad of EVERYONE in this country. The person might be partisan when elected but once that person is in the office it is that person's responsibility to unite the country and care for ALL of its people.

The partisanship belongs in the legislature. And NOT in the Supreme Court.

You the people have created the multinational network in your lust for cheap commodities. I admit it. Why can't you? It doesn't matter who you elect, that will remain. The chance to clean up some of the corruption is here however. And however small the advance, it will help.

One thing joe.

I come from a political family, very progressive, very active. Half of them are from New England. Part of the NE contingent now works in the labor movement in Milwaukee.

Political activists are not at all like the doomsday fearful ones. They don't even know about them. Hocus pocus has no place in their world. These people aren't daunted by the system. Quite the reverse. They are excited by it, fully aware of the horrors, but always enthusiastic about the prospects for change. Different world altogether and the one I was raised in. Even though I haven't been active it's in my protoplasm. No wonder I'm excited.
