The Patio is Open!

In celebration of the brilliant winter solstice this year, coupled with the exceptionally close Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in zero Aquarius, I am re-igniting the conversation on my blogs.
All intelligent life is invited.

As the other planets in our solar system spin merrily around the sun in the same way, Uranus,  the ruling planet of Aquarius, negates convention and spins on an opposite axis, not concerned with conformity.
You might view this an act of rebellion. You might just call it independence. You might say it is eccentric. Or could it be abnormal? It's definitely odd.
Then there are those who see this aberration as genius.
Since Aquarius governs electricity, the nervous system gets highly stimulated in these situations. Shocks, shivers, and brain splitting sensations can result, all designed to catapult the innocent human creature into realms previously unknown. Splitting up confines can appear to be destructive. Or it can resemble the creative. It's a matter of mind.

Anyway you look at it, Aquarius gets tagged with the advancement of humankind. That's purely motion, not a judgement.

There does seem to be some special emphasis on the airy world of Aquarius given the dramatic entrance.

Yeah, it's my sparse winter theme out there with solstice shimmer and glitter.

So Joop and Saturn are conjunct every 20 years, 400 years in the same element. They were in earth, now it will be four centuries in air.

Rules rules rules. Order is commanded! We're under control!

Frankly the last 800 yr cycle got tiresome. The architecture began quite lovely, but the stuff of late has been so depressing.

The next 800 will probably be more of the same. Just a different flavor.

Nothing much happens generally. Maybe a comet can brush us on the way past and stir things up.

All to confirm your predictions JM it's gonna be up and down...the usual.

Good God. What a wonderful comment Tseka. Licorice again! All is well.

I, too, fell under the influence of the poor star. Literally. A big ass dog leaped at me while running today and I hit the pavement, bruising a rib.
"Sorry about that", says the leashed owner. Yeah, very sorry. I could tell.

Up and down. The usual. But a car crash is truly awful. As is being at the mercy of the allopaths. Mercy?

Recalling Mira is the best. Singing helps. I've been doing a lot of it lately. Plus I learned something about aggression and expression.

I caught my index finger in a door and lost the nail I couldn't play the piano. The FU finger and the one I use for hard emphasis in my jazz blues riffs.
I realized how much aggressive release is located there and how it keeps me from tearing into others, such as some dog people.

It's a pretty good outlet. So I'm growing a new stronger finger and getting ready to roll. That is when the poor fools decide to open our beloved bars again. Our adult recreation centers. The sound of song will be sublime at that point.

Who is this wee Mira Rose? And what is One Dance Tseka creating in her lab amidst the locking up and down. More of the cure?

Tseka is actually recovering from nearly a decade standing at the holy door as most of my family and friends passed through.
We Saami say we put our coats on and take them off yet we are ever present.
Long ago we all spoke of shamans, and my preferred sjaman ensouled ones.

The act of departing in grace seems to be helped by loving hands and heart.

The cost was almost too much.

Like you I am recovering, a severe supraspinatus tear has dramatically curtailed my go-girl life.

While very occupied with my departing beloveds, I periodically opened my studio sharing small nature spirits made of tree bark with porcelain faces, fur and reindeer skin. They all hold stories so....it seems I was gifted my papa's role as a rememberer or story-teller.
These are old Saami-Alfr stories and ones from the Salish reservation where I was raised.

I can't even begin to tell you how comforting it has been to be among these wise old ancestor's voices -spirits.

Speaking of bones and such, I have been experiencing realignments of bones and vertebrae for a few years now, triggered by studying tai chi. Seems to be accelerating.

On defying expectations, I read today that astronomers were been taken aback this month by the behavior of a massive storm, 4600 miles wide, on Neptune's surface. The storm unexpectedly reversed course, something they've never seen happen before with any storm there. It is heading back to its point of origin, and away from the kill zone where Neptunean storms go to die. They suspect that by shedding a smaller vortex, it was somehow able to change direction. The planets seem predictable from a distance, but they have their surprises on closer investigation. Neptune's on my ascendant, so I suppose an astrologer would say old patterns are being released.

Of long term interest to me, we have been leaving solar minimum and entering a new solar cycle this past year as the Sun's poles exchange places. Interestingly, there is debate about whether the new 11-year cycle will be one of the weakest or one of the strongest ever recorded. The official NASA forecast is for a weak cycle, but a new theory to make better sense of the data has been in the works for years and it predicts surprisingly strong solar activity. If so, then we should expect a lot of sunspots and aurora borealis by mid-decade, intense space weather, possible disruptions to power utility grids or radio communications, and stronger geomagnetism which is known to improve plant growth and health. Time will tell. Things may be possible that were remote before. If it turns out to be a strong cycle, I will look to take advantage of the heightened prana and ambient energies.

The solar cycle debate reminds me of a disagreement that I had with an astrologist a couple of weeks ago. He was expecting disaster from his read of the stars, and he said that intuitives are too optimistic. Well, okay. I said I was skeptical of forced predictions in general, but I think I got him madder!

Hee! Oh, he wanted to hear from Saturn but then he didn't like what he heard. The good fellow and I are no longer on speaking terms.

I did see that he is one of those people who were very invested in a losing candidate during the primary elections. Maybe it's been like the end of the world for a few ever since.

Many ardently desire large-scale, rapid change but overlook that it would mean disruption and be a messy business even to get it started. In some insightful myths, humanity was formed from malleable earth. So, we're working with clay here, not paint-by-numbers. Hands will not stay clean, and the way forward is nonlinear and upends expectations.

The unattained ideal seems so beautiful that by comparison some think that nothing is really changing except for the worse; reality just doesn't match the mental picture. It's as if wise babies ought to simply pop out of Zeus' forehead to be delivered by storks.

Aha, I see that brings me back to your post's conclusion.

"Since Aquarius governs electricity, the nervous system gets highly stimulated in these situations. There does seem to be some special emphasis on the airy world of Aquarius given the dramatic entrance."

And that's it precisely!

The competing visions must play out in the creative process we call the human species. I suspect the species is naturally engaged in a kind of complex problem-solving that could not be done purely mentally nor in spirit. The inherent Aquarian tensions — given the odd couple Aquarian rulers Uranus and Saturn, the interplay between the electrified air and the grounding earth) — are dramatic and therefore full of potential.

Great great comment Kadimiros. I really enjoyed reading it.

And so refreshing, since around the web they're dipping into utopian silliness with the Aquarian transits. You put it well:

"Many ardently desire large-scale, rapid change but overlook that it would mean disruption and be a messy business even to get it started. In some insightful myths, humanity was formed from malleable earth. So, we're working with clay here, not paint-by-numbers. Hands will not stay clean, and the way forward is nonlinear and upends expectations."

Very funny. Paint by numbers. What fun!
The point about change being non-linear is excellent. Expectations have little to do with reality. They are a personal exercise, a way to cope, or a way to impress others with some arcane predictive skill. By chance, or something, the expectation meets reality sometimes but not with any regularity. One key phrase for Aquarius is "circumstances beyond one's control." Humans are a small part of the universe. Most definitely not the controllers.
After Capricorn with its dictatorial flavor, this makes sense.
I expect the expectations to take a hit coming up!

Ha ha, "In some insightful myths, humanity was formed from malleable earth."

Every second is a complex problem solving event. Fortunately, a lot of the solving is done by the unseen. So all bases are covered, since humans often muck it up in their eagerness.

"given the odd couple Aquarian rulers Uranus and Saturn, the interplay between the electrified air and the grounding earth) — are dramatic and therefore full of potential."

Added to that is the ruling planet, Uranus, in earthy Taurus for several years. Plus Pluto still in Cap as much as the kids would like to move prematurely into airy flight.

Everything is contained in every moment. What often appears as great positive change is likely a mixture. Positive and negative, good and bad, etc., are quite impossible to determine. It's a sequence. So bad might be an essential stepping stone to good. That makes it good. Can't do without it.

Who writes the sequence? You got me there.

Of course! Microbes. The little darlings. Very mucky.

Microbes rule the earth, along with insects as I understand it.

They are inside, outside, and everywhere. So morbid fear of microbes is fear of life and self. Right?

Maybe in inventive Aquarius a life repellent germ coat will be designed.

I always thought the EU would end in due time. It doesn't work to forcibly mix disparate peoples in binding arrangements where they lose their say. It has to come organically. Trade ensures that. It's a huge subject. Nationalism, boundaries, and, and collective cooperation. Brexit is a start.

That's why I'm leery of the new push toward federal control in this country. We just got a great education in states' rights and although it was rough, the sovereignty of our states is one of our best features. Uranus is awareness. It's bound to reverse some of the flimsy ideas about dealing with the earth that now abound.

People often say that we are predators endangering the earth. But some wise ones say it's the opposite. That we are at the mercy of the powerful earth.
I see humans as having limited power. Very limited. Not that we shouldn't try!

Yes JM. In the 60's and 70's it was all about federal law over states. Much pertaining to civil rights seemed appropriate at the time. We got in too deep, the creep has now become global. I cannot believe how aligned we are politically. I mean, of course I can. It was always so.

I thought we were headed in the right direction, but then the trip got aborted so it seems. It cannot be, though. The further squeeze of federalism, if it comes, will awaken our instincts for liberty.

Classical liberals, conservatives, libertarians, and independents are banding together in a glorious alliance. It will bear fruit.

It's wonderful to talk about this.

When the covid shit hit the states and all hell broke loose, it was an opportunity to see what our system is all about. People often don't like sovereignty. They like to be ordered around. And every state had a unique twist even though they were playing follow the leader.

What a great civics lesson.

The Governors got a chance to strut their stuff and it was definitely a mixed bag. They need some improvement which is forthcoming.
