A Getup for a Harsh World
This cat is prepared.
No wind, no desert fly, no burning sun are going to mess with him.
I was tossing around some ideas as to how I might shield myself against adverse circumstances as I adventure through the world I presently inhabit.
This dude has the right idea. I would add industrial ear plugs.

Aaaah - this is a genuine Cancer response!!! Must have been quite the New Moon for you . . . landing on your DES & squaring your sun. No worries, this nice little restful Mercury Rx in comforting Scorpio (at least for Cancers, Scorpio in comforting . . .) will give you some time to re-flect & re-vise strategies so that Aries ASC can go forth to conquer again! :-) Enjoy the clean snowy landscape . . . and take care of yourself, because I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what Jupiter in Sag will inspire in you!

Me too!
Aries ASC can go forth to conquer again!
The fun starts!
Definitely looks like an alien.
What's DES, anyway?
DES:
Descendant.
The 7th House. The house of one on one relationships.
So the New Moon has affected this for me as is obvious. Changes in old relationships and new ones entering. The Full Moon will be in Taurus in my 1st, on my North Node, indicating a newfound pleasure with the relationship adjustments and a recognition of myself as the center of my experience and the only way to healthy relationships. A lifetime of work for me who has a tendency to place more importance on the other.
It's similar for you joe with all your Libra. The Full Moon in your 12th will most likely encourage you to seek some retreat from the relationship effort.
Thanks jm. *mutters to self* ASC = ascendant, MC = midheaven, DES = descendant...
Sometimes I feel like I will never have enough brains to understand all these bits and pieces. Or maybe I'm just feeling blah about that exam... I think I should have studied more. Some questions horrified me because I wasn't prepared for them. *sigh* Maybe I'll squeak through.
The exam. Symbolic. And it all makes sense. Don't despair too much.
No matter how much you study or how much recognition you get you still have a Saturn in the 1st house and a lifetime of working with your sense of self, your worth, and your self recognition. So outward manifestations will not be enough whether you get an A+ or a C, Until you judge yourself as a substantial achiever. The more slowly this comes the more solid and enduring it will be.
Saturn is very very hard for everyone in the chart. I know astrology seems daunting but look at how much more you already know so soon.
I'm letting it go by osmosis a lot now but I still think I can get organized enough to help you learn more.
I think I should have studied more.
The Saturn in Gemini lament.
Another problem with Saturn in the 1st is a tendency to get overly self absorbed and have difficult breaking the barrier and flowing into the environment. A shyness and over cautiousness are the usual. Most wish they could loosen up more and participate in the surrounding action. But when this is mastered and the block overcome, the reward is more than you can imagine. It takes time and repeated experience.
Sometimes I feel like I will never have enough brains to understand all these bits and pieces.
More Saturn in Gemini.
It's not about the lack of brains.
It's about the infinity of the bits and pieces.
The trick is to fully enjoy whatever you learn and not worry about what you don't know. We all don't know far far more than we know. Personal knowledge is an electron microscopic pea.
You always know what to say, jm. :o)
I do see what you're saying though... I don't think tests of that sort are useful for someone like me. I can usually regurgitate whatever answer is required, but when I try to study for an exam, my concentration scatters. My knowledge is evident in my words and actions (usually) at work and in activism. I think the testing issue has been less prominent lately because I'm not in school anymore, but when I do have to return to that role, like today, it crops up again.

Yep. As we've discussed elsewhere, this breaking of the barrier has already occurred, but slowly. I've never been such an active force in my environment, neighborhood and workplace as I am nowadays. It amazes me.
this breaking of the barrier has already occurred, but slowly
The best way.
Your influence will grow and grow. One thing to keep in mind is the Libra which likes equality in relationships square the Capricorn which is authority. Eventually you'll have to forego some of the equality and take your position of power and leadership. It's in the cards and as you said, will come gradually. The thing is not to worry if you have to give up some of the one on one nice-guyness and learn to be a boss.

I do believe this is something that will come to you, Joe. Your Gemini rising will be very helpful in this. I don't do "boss" well . . . all my Scorpio comes to the fore, and I have a difficult time finding the right degree of firmness - a bit heavy handed. OTOH, I can be most diplomatic as an assistant to the boss.... :-)
I can't do boss at all.
I was a manager in retail once and it was a complete folly. No one took me seriously. It was ridiculous. I can't give orders. I even have a hard time with requests.
Libras are afraid people won't like them any more and they probably won't when the boss kicks in. Not everyone.
