Some Colorful Facts

Hot off the press today.....
RED
Stimulates energy and can increase blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate.
YELLOW
Stimulates the nervous system and activates memory. It also encourages communication.
GREEN
Night vision goggles use the color green because the human eye is most sensitive to and able to discern the most shades in this color.....hmmm.
BLUE
Blue is the favored color choice for toothbrushes. It also aids intuition.
PURPLE
Leonardo da Vinci believed the power of meditation increases 10 times when done in a purple light, as the purple light of stained glass.
Purple is my favorite. Purple and red together, heaven on earth.

I'm a purple person too.
But I really liked the juxtapositon of toothbrushes and intuition.
I too have some frozen pipes. But fortunately also still have hot water in the main part of the house.
I didn't venture out at all today...

That's always an experience...not going out!

I wondered about the toothbrushes and intuition. Why they picked those two.

The thing that interested me was the exceptional knowledge we have of green. I was thinking maybe because we have so much practice. But maybe there's a lot more to it. I didn't know about yellow and memory.

Could have been important to primate evolution: "In herbivorous primates, color perception is essential for finding proper (mature) leaves."

Yes! Good thought.

So I wonder what perceptions are developed now in terms of the modern primate.

Interesting. Red is strong alert. It awakens all the survival senses, and demands obedience. Yellow is a less major warning.
Green is the go ahead, everthing's cool feeling.

Amazing. The primitive systems we use along with the excrutiatingly advanced.

Lavender (the color, that is) signifies in-between states. I once read that this color is most often associated with twilight and pre-dawn, which are in-between times. It apparently became associated with homosexuality because of the blending of male and female.

The herb lavendar has a calming fragrance, as well, perhaps inducing a state that is in-between arousal/alertness and sleep.

That's a good encapsulation of lavender. It's always been so popular with humans. I wonder if the in-betweens are more attractive.

I wonder how subjective these reactions are, or if we're wired to remember the same things when the senses are stimulated by color and smell.
