Brotherhood and the 29th Degree

Brothers reunited at the Berlin Wall.
Mars is deep deep deep in Gemini now on the way to Cancer, but not for long. The retrograde is bringing him back. I've thoroughly enjoyed this transit of Gemini. The communication has been expansive, illuminating, fun, and surprising. Mind-blowing really, like some psychedelic substance. Of course, everyone knows how much I love the sign.
Gemini governs our sibling relationships. I had the first good conversation in years with my brother the other day, and I have to say, I am relieved. He even admitted, for the first time, that my mother favored him entirely. He's beginning to understand my tiny handicap in reaching for the golden ladder of worldly success. The one he climbed so effortlessly. He does have a NN in the 10th, though.
As Mars starts the seven month transit of Cancer and Gemini, the subject of togetherness and degrees of separation often emerges. Head versus heart, friends versus family, old relationships versus new, and things like that. Our siblings are the closest people on earth to us, we share the same protoplasm. I've always had Geminis in my life, and the feeling of being of the same stuff is always there. An indefinable familiarity. I can relax with them.
The fascinating thing about this transit is the return of Mars to the 29th degree on January 1. Pluto will be at 29 Sagittarius and the NN will be at 29 Aquarius. The brotherhood of man is definitely at hand.

Well here we go. Amazing.

Just as I finished posting this ... rrrring! .. Who? My brother, of course. This never happens. We used to talk so seldom.

He has a new woman in his life and he just e-mailed me photos of her. Young and adorable at 50. What sign? Gemini.
Seated next to her is her mother-in-law at her 93rd birthday looking fabulous.

This is getting wild. he just ran out to pick up his daughter and is going to phone me as soon as he gets back for more photo sending. Is this Gemini?

The incredible thing is his Saturn in the 3rd house. Virgo. Every single time before, we've has a bad connection; crackling, fading, and finally giving up. Saturn 3rd. The last two times have been perfect. Virgo. Of course, disconnects are probably still ahead as Saturn finishes the return, but this is getting interesting, especially considering the Mars retro.

I'll be watching all my connections.

Well you were wondering how to deal with Mars in Cancer and voila the story unfolds without missing a beat.

I simply love this.

I am deep into painting, the doors of the house are thrown open catching every wonderful warm breeze. It's a glory. The cats are enjoying life like i've not seen. Old Zamma who will be twenty two next month stays outside all day, dreaming on the patio, up the tree. I am painting outside on the ground. The cats watch from the roof.
Life has shifted to comfortable.

This development is a huge surprise, my sweet compadre. Long and twisted road.

I am deep into painting

And I simply love this.

Life has shifted to comfortable.

My god in heaven. It happens eventually. Cancer can be like a soft old shirt, funny socks, and enjoyment of the moment. We stay-at-homes have mastered comfort. I'm building things around my bed so's to rest well these coming months.
This transit will be interesting and such a good opportunity to find these comfortable spots inside of us as we push upward in the Capricorn years. Would that "succeeding" could be as pleasurable as painting in the country.

Another thing I'm watching is the USA Mars in Gemini and 4 planets in Cancer. That could also be interesting. Bush, NN in Gemini, Sun-Saturn in Cancer. I already sense changes in the relationship. If this country could understand the whys and wherefores, and forgive itself, see the symbolism, and get ready to move on, lots of us could feel a little more comfortable.

Something happened to me JM seeing the images of the streets of Burma turn red. Not with blood but monks. Deep meditative protests, walking barefoot.

Courage.

What struck me was the method they adopted for change; denying alms to the military. Refusing to receive food in exchange for a blessing.

And they believed that many of the military would be willing to stop supporting the government rather than be excommunicated.

Can you imagine such a scenario here? guilt? shame? Just an opportunity to get on TV.

Suddenly we see a small country as a microcosm of the larger world. Burma has a plenitude of resources and a small fraction controls them, selling to foreigners (including US) for their own benefit while the people starve.

I've been trying to find the archived article and failing - but Eric Francis (www.planetwaves.net)wrote something about two years ago about how he has seen issues around Islam light up in all kinds of ways when anything touched 28 degrees Gemini in any way. He opened it up for comments.

I had a flash and wrote in that Isaac and Ishmael were half-brothers fathered by Abraham, exiled from one another; one founded the spiritual lineage that became Judaism, one founded the spiritual lineage that became Islam.

28 Gemini is at the end of sign, where the energies are wrapping up, closing out to prep for the change over to Cancer; the clear division of siblings (or twin towers, if you want) dissolves into the unity of Mother.

And, cultures all over the world usually have some important story about brothers separated and then reunited. Americana Natives - I thnk the Hopi - say the beginning of the Next World begins with the reunion of the Brothers.

Something to ponder there.

Problem is, if the starving ones had control, the same thing would happen. I never tire of discussing our evolutionary problems. What to do.

Joy, I remember something about the 28 Gemini. That's when the Trade Towers came down. My Uranus is there.

This is fascinating, about the religious splits. Incredible now that you mention the "Twin Towers" OMG.

Omg. Thank you for this.

This is fantastic. It gives all that much more significance to this reunion with my own brother. My Uranus at 28 Gem in the 3rd house. And Donnie's mother. Wow.

I've found this Gem transit very difficult. My usual communication modes have been less than ideal. Maybe Mars energized my Saturn limits as he passed by. Even places I normally am welcome left me feeling like an intruder if I spoke up, so I have steered clear almost universally.

Reunion of brothers. Hmm. Monks are also known as brothers in some religions. Maybe the Burmese monks are seeking to reunite with their military-minded brothers.

I find it remarkable, also, that most ordinary people refer to the country as Burma, the preferred name, while the media and politicians keep calling it Myanmar, the name imposed by the military junta. Most fascinating.

Maybe i should say this a bit differently. The monks realized that they were perpetuating this situation by giving blessings to their repressors.

They stopped participating.

The unequal distribution of wealth remains, as it's been throughout history. But I wonder if it's as far apart as it used to be.

But isn't this required by the teachings?

Re-union is definitely part of many myths. The new era is the end of duality.

I do not know about the Hopi story of the reunion of brothers but they do talk of the re-union of soul mates. When mankind is ready to walk the path of harmony|beauty White Raven (the above consciousness) and White Buffalo (the below consciousness) are re-united.

This is exactly how Saturn works. Sends you back inside the wall for a consultaion with yourself. What's interesting here is that Mercury just entered Scorpio, which should work better for you. Here you are. The Merc Retro will be affecting you a lot, I would guess.

Maybe you aren't saying exactly what you want to. Not probing deeply enough, seeking more honesty, so you withdrew for the moment. Not for long.:-)

Reunion is the basis of life, they say, as the myth in the post below tells. Reuniting with god. So maybe the brother relationship is a symbol of this larger union.

The Twin Tower connection to 28 is so interesting and now with Pluto at 26, I sense something. The 29s when Mars comes back seem to tell a story with the NN in Aquarius. The larger brother relationship.

Another interesting thing to me is how religions (Sagittarius) encourage people to refer to one another as brothers and sisters.

This is very very interesting and why I am an astrologer.

Why would this change? The first impulse would be to blame them and feel hurt for being ignored so suddenly. But when you look at the rhythms and patterns, you can always find another reason. This is the key for me. When accusation becomes useless, and circumstance becomes a guiding element.

The 29 degree Aq North Node is the first degree of passage into the new sign. Are we rushing into our past to meet our future? remembering what we already know?

You know tseka, this is fascinating. The reverse motion of the moon's nodes. It just hit me with your comment. Maybe we really are remembering to progress.

Are we rushing into our past to meet our future?

I'd bet we're doing just that. Esepecially with Mars in Cancer.

I must ponder this 29 factor and the start of remembering.

It also seems to me that at 29 in the forward motion, memory of the whole transit comes, maybe so we don't forget as we cross the bridge.
