Liquidity

I'm so lazy. I should go up into the hills and look at the water. Hear the crackle of the leaves and twigs. I get side-tracked though. The good thing is ... the streams are steady and reliable, not going anywhere soon. They'll be there. Trickle down.

Speaking of water ...

Dharmaruci posted this over at his place (astrotabletalk.blogspot.com):

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized?

'Well,' said the Director, 'we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.'

'Oh, I understand,' said the visitor. 'A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.'

'No.' said the Director, 'A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?'

jm, love the painting.

Is it being lazy? With Mars Neptune conjunct, is it that or an energy gap?

The McCain campaign has pulled out of Colorado and hopes to flip Pennsylvania.

Current polling shows no evidence of the race tightening and Barack's lead seems to be holding steady.

I'm also glad to hear the Obama campaign is aggressively combating Republican sabotage of the election.

I was wondering about trickle down altruism. And/or up.

You have a good point, helena. The Mars-Neptune plus an unaspected Sun in Cancer in the 4th means almost no energy. I have a very slow metabolism, but I can move as fast as lightning when I have to. Briefly. I do run 20 miles a week, but slow and steady.:-)

Yup. Out of Colorado which makes me happy. They've gotten a little too toxic for my tastes. They can't flip Penn. I'm also glad about the Obama fight against sabotage. There will be suppression but I think the gap is too big for them to succeed at theft. Besides, the balance scales are in effect, especially with Mercury direct in the exact same spot it was retrograde when Gore got cheated. People are shell-shocked.

Of course the sad news is O's ongoing Pluto opposite Venus and his grandmother. I assumed she was going to die on this transit and the timing is strange, if she goes now. I will have to contemplate this. The nation will have to be his family now.

Trickling altruism would be all right with me.

A little test of it now as the country deals with the family sorrow. A first selfish reaction among the supporters was panic that the campaign would be affected. Then the wait to see if the Thugs unleash the Wright tapes as planned. I don't think they will. And of course following the path of pain and negativity. It was supposed to go to exponential places this week and next, and we'll see how the people respond.

After all this time, it's remarkable to me, still, the greedy reaching for the poisoner's tools, blighting the land and its fruits.

Perhaps the grandmother is reminding people to remember their roots in common ground. It's the right time.

Yes. There is something very interesting going on here. I don't know what the networks are doing but people seem to be trying to bypass this strong message coming through. It looks as though she's dying and that will throw a huge curve into the proceedings - the blighting of the land. You could be right about common ground.

It would mean heavy news coverage just when the negativity was supposed to peak. They would have to tell her story and then comes the reminder - the big one - she's white skinned.

Oct. 26, 1922. NN 29 Virgo and all the repair written there. Sun, Mercury in Scorpio, both getting transits.

Moon, Mars in Capricorn. Mars is 26, exactly in between Obama's Saturn and USA Pluto.

The "real" American story comes through Madelyn. The book "What's the Matter With Kansas?" tries to get to the core of what's wrong with the country. She represents what's right being a self-made women from Kansas, who raised her grandson so well and lived a highly productive life. I still think there's a connection to the "Wizard of Oz" too. Kansas is home.

It's hard for people to consciously put that together in Obama but something deep in the American soul gets it. That Obama is as American as can be and that, along with his Aquarian SN, is why he relates so genuinely with the public. 175,000 people Sunday in Missouri. 6,000 for McCain today.

It will be very interesting to see if she can influence her people at this crucial moment.

USA Today:
Barack Obama's grandmother, blazed a feminist trail in Hawaii banking circles in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Her illness is a reminder to people of what really matters. I wondering a little whether an emotional reminder could crop up.

She's lived well, and has made it to her Neptune opposition. It's good to know that her strengths flow through him, that it was reported that in raising him "she poured everything she had into him".

The photo imagery appearing in the news media are an important visual handle for people to see what they find difficult to imagine. Family.

You're absolutely right about the emotional reminder of what really matters. The atmosphere of cruelty is getting to a lot of people especially when you look at this man and his family and listen to his voice. The fact that he refrains entirely from belittling himself like they do is a testament to Toot, as she's called, and his upbringing.

I think people are realizing that it humiliates them when their leaders behave in such a manner, so the juxtaposition is a good learning moment. It belittles the importance of their problems, too, and this reminds them that not everyone is out of touch.

The family caring is an important point. One little girl answered the phone in her home, heard the terrorist robocall rant, and started crying inconsolably. The idea of penetrating private space with these threats in unconscionable, plus the fact that he has two young children of his own who hear these things. People are objecting finally.

Obama's people are cut from fine cloth and something good in our nature is coming to their defense, moving against habit. People have the strength to stop it. A vote is a powerful thing.

Barack has carried a lot of remorse with him about missing his mother's death and he seems to be responding to a chance for rectification with Pluto opposing his Venus in Cancer. The power of women in his life is unusual. Toot is the heavy.

"she poured everything she had into him".

I didn't know that. He was compelled to be in her care since he was the one who made the choice to come home to Hawaii to be raised by her.

Her Moon-Mars in Capricorn also has the ruling Saturn in Libra, so grace, decency, and manners must be paramount with her. He behaves the way he does because he's unable to do otherwise.

It's just amazing to imagine what she's experiencing now, especially the love the American people are expressing toward her child. She must be confident he'll be well cared for.

There's a video down in the comments which is funny as hell.

Also, weird heads-up to astrologers: Katherine Harris and Michelle Bachman, two right-wing harpies who could be twins are born April 5, 1957 and April 6, 1957 respectively. Scary thing is they even look identical. personally, I find it proof of astrology! :)

PS, I thought of you when they were announcing the pullout from CO. :)

It's good to know so many share your pain. To the tune of half a mil+. This is great. Anytime any wingnuts opens their tight mouths they pay for it in real cash. Perfect for a Republican. Blogland is coming of age.

I wonder if there isn't something going on with the idea of "family values"? The pictures of Barack and his grandmother (and family, etc.) are, as Kadimiros said, "reminding people to remember their roots in common ground".

There has been something rather sinister that has been trying to convince us what "real America" is and who the "real Americans" are. What makes an acceptable "real" family with "real" values...the rest of us are all immoral and, well, not "real", I guess.

This seems to be an extremely skewed picture that leaves out so, so many. I doubt there are that many of us who have such a neat and tidy picture...I know my family is completely whacked. Yet, I found myself wondering about the so called family values that were emphasized at the GOP convention as the "Parade of Palins" came on stage. I think I'll keep my family- thanks, but, no thanks.

The truth is that family a sacred concept. One that has such profound meaning...I can't help but think that the universe has stepped in at this point, maybe via Barack's grandmother, to let everyone see that family is not limited by size, gender, color, religion, or any other mental or physical construct.

It seems as if "family" is one of those concepts that can be considered as a universal truth. It cannot be held by a limited picture of what was once family, but has grown through unconditional love to include a huge tapestry of people woven together, thus breaking through crystallized notions of what is a right or "real" family to what is a Real Family.

Also, I'm thinking that this Real Family has now expanded to include the entire world as well as the earth itself. It shows the growth of our human consciousness. Doesn't this sound a lot like Universal brother/sisterhood? The movement to the level of caring that creates a Universal Family?
Is this the Age of Aquarius?

Perhaps this is all tied in with Barack and his mother and now grandmother? What stands out in all these pictures is love. Are they showing us what the future can be if we all recognize our role in our Universal Family? Or just letting us know that our own families, regardless of how crazy they seem are really "real"? In this Family we are loved unconditionally and no one is left out.

I hope Toot has an easy passing. I am a little heartbroken that Barack and his family have to go through this right now. His being with his grandmother is the only right thing at this time. As you said it reminds us of what is most important. I have great respect for his mother and grandparents. They helped to create a great human being. Barack has now become the man he was destined to be... and just as importantly, the man they raised him to be.

and something else...Kansas is not just home, but Home with a capital "H". Was it Baum?...I think that's correct...who wrote "The Wizard of Oz" was a Theosophist...so home is Home.

During one of my particular rough spots I went to Santa Fe for relief, meditation, etc. I drove out to the desert...to a monastery in Abique, NM. After a crazy the 13 mile, one lane drive along the hills down to the river I finally reached the beautiful monastery...like a picture it was situated in front of the great red rocks and deep blue sky. I felt sure this is where I would find an answer to all my problems. I went to the bookstore and on the wall was a plaque that read: "That which you are searching for is what causes you to seek". It was that simple, yet that hard. Just a thought.

Tami, that's fascinating about the author of The Wizard. Thank you so much. Very very interesting. I know there's something to this. I also keep thinking about the wicked witch crushed under the house, and you are so right about the sacredness of home and family and how that's expanding. The killing of the shadow-monster now is so symbolic. The whole country is up in arms about MB's anti-American spiel. I think they understand that she's the one who's anti-American. We're too diverse now. Added to this is the exposure of the man behind the curtain and the failure of fear tactics.

There's also a connection to Pluto in Cancer when the 10 year drought hit Kansas and then came the Depression. And get this tami. Kansas has a Sun-Mercury conjunction in Aquarius.

I think Toot will have an easy passing after a job so well done with all her Capricorn. She surpassed all expectations like her child.

I know that monastery about which you speak. I lived in Santa Fe for 5 years but I never went there. I had the same kind of experience in Haiti when I was troubled. I traveled far out of town and in a tea shop in a field I found a plaque on the wall that explained everything.

That which you are searching for is what causes you to seek

How beautiful, perfect, and true.

jm, if you would like more information on the ideas behind The Wizard of Oz let me know. I have some really good notes somewhere from a lecture that a friend did for the Atlanta Theosophical Society on a Kabalistic interpretation of the story of Oz. It's really pretty fascinating...the idea of how do we get Home. Just let me know if you're interested.
