A Promise

I'm going to wash my front windows to let in the autumn light, clarify, and improve my view. Stamped and contracted. I'll even set a deadline. The Full Taurus Moon in two weeks.
Non-negotiable.

A week left. God, I don't know if I can take it much longer. I alternate between confidence that things will be well and despair over the endless idiocy all around me. And I'm *not* lurking on any political blogs! :o) Just the headlines, and those are enough enough to set my teeth on edge.

LOL! I wish I could vote early and get it done with.

The longer this goes on, the more I find myself putting on my cool blue debate cap. So much nonsense out there! People just make stuff up, they are so desperate. They can't seem to grasp that their continued negativity and rumormongering has only hurt their preferred candidate's appeal to the crucial block of undecided voters.

LOL! It's awful!!
The idiocy is right. I almost choked on a piece of string bean so I've been cooling it and taking naps. I should try the "cool blue debate cap."

I voted early and I am very happy. I might help out at the polls on Tuesday though. I could use just a little punishment!

I voted early, too -- yay! I think it's a great experiment. Now let's see how the 2010 mid-term election turnout goes, when Obama isn't running. I want to see if spreading the voting out like this, all by itself, will increase voter turnout.

Oh, and -- for the astro-tooth, Barbara Hand Clow holds forth at http://www.handclow2012.com/astroflash.htm :

Scorpio New Moon: October 28, 2008

...

Intriguingly, the Saturn/Uranus opposition in 19 Virgo/Pisces is activating the 1776 USA Neptune in 22 Virgo (see Methodology). This election is set up to resolve the troubling 1776 USA Neptune in Virgo square Mars in Gemini, which inspires the US to get involved in disastrous foreign wars that always end up draining the country. During the last Saturn/Uranus opposition in 1966, the great outer planets were opposite by signs with Saturn in 18 Pisces/Uranus in 18 Virgo. This opposition in the 1960s was a spiritual crisis for America at war in Vietnam and being torn apart by racial tensions, and now the opposition is a material crisis that will open space for spirit.

...

The Scorpio New Moon basically has no aspects except for a wide sextile to Pluto on the Galactic Center, which underscores the great influence of this New Moon. (I do not use semi-squares and sesquiquadrates unless they are less than one degree because they just aren't strong enough.) The Sabian Symbol for 6 Scorpio is the image of men being torn away from home by a gold rush so that they can improve their economic status as well as to gamble; this lunation encourages us to dig for new paths and seek new forms of wealth. This lunation is the perfect setup for finding personal ways to navigate the coming new world, since the material world is a gold mine in which everybody has an equal share-and the candidates bravely carry the archetypes for us. Regarding Saturn opposite Uranus, McCain, because of his physical rigidity from war injuries, cancer, and age, reflects Saturn playing out his desperate search for order in a chaotic world. Obama would be one of the youngest presidents, and he is incredibly healthy and yogic. His main slogan-"Change"-embodies the quest of Uranus, which courses through him as he moves like a wand through a rapidly moving world. Biden, who represents biding time, grounds his extraordinary partner. Adding signs to the mix, Saturn in Virgo desires order at all costs, while Uranus in Pisces desires the total transformation of spiritual values in culture. George W. Bush seized the accelerated energy of the Galactic Underworld in 2000; Obama could release the Fourth World peace-potential; and McCain could try to slow down the Galactic Underworld but not stop it.

...

Looking at other configurations in the New Moon chart, Venus in freedom-loving and reckless Sagittarius is quickly moving into a T-square to the Saturn/Uranus opposition, which will be exact on November 3, right before the election. Since Ms. Palin is the resident beauty queen selected by the fatherly warrior McCain, she embodies Venus in the T-Square, the great lipstick distraction of the 2008 election. She is a wild card to be drawn for supreme stupidity or stultifying magic, McCain's biggest gamble yet. For example, during the T-square on November 3, Venus sextiles Chiron/Neptune in Aquarius, which suggests her role may actually be healing and spiritual. Maybe this energy will be just for McCain personally and/or a healing force for old warriors. Maybe she will feel real concern for her own son in Iraq? Palin definitely reflects that it is hard for many men to rise for peace on Earth.

Mercury in 19 Libra is exactly quincunx Uranus (Obama) in Pisces, and Mercury in Libra is Venusian, the silvery vibration that Palin has been carrying throughout the Mercury retrograde in Libra. Palin appeared on the scene August 28 just as Mercury was poised move into Libra, so she could deliver a truly weird and destabilizing blow to Obama the day before the election. Also, Mercury goes into Scorpio right after the Saturn/Uranus opposition just before sunrise November 4! What could this mean? It may be a bad omen for Obama, because while in the secrecy of the voting booth, it could encourage people to revert to racist tendencies instead of keeping with their newly-emerging higher principles, which is the most pure energy that Scorpio carries.

One guy tried to argue to me that the $150 million of donations from September was "fishy" even if the Obama campaign processed donations as quickly as, he said, "one transaction per two minutes". As if donations were lining up single file somewhere awaiting processing. He just made the ratio up, did a bunch of math involving more dubious numbers, and hoped that people wouldn't question the result.

Even if I hadn't had work experience in financial data processing companies and in programming on-line payment sites, it would still be obvious that modern banks, Web sites and payment processing services are perfectly capable of handling many transactions for the same business or organization at any given moment.

Yeah. Transactions can be handled. 10 million in one night when Palin first spoke. I think she was largely responsible for the 150 million. Good fundraiser.:-)

That was a staggering figure. It's changed the political process in ways yet to be solidified. Average donation was under $86.

Spreading out the voting has been such a great idea.

No kidding. They're talking about requiring it for all states by the next election. I smell election reform coming.

It really is interesting. It's a testament to the power of one and the power of the vote.

I am awaiting the new paradigm as the people's power of purchase rears up and gets established after blind-siding corporate funding. I guess no one on this green and gaseous earth anticipated the new development. The not-so-advanced republicans were certainly thrown for a loop.

Ah, national karma.

I just read, "Unlike McCain, Palin and Obama, whose American roots stretch back two or more centuries, most of Biden’s ancestors were part of the great 19th century influx, which included Irish famine victims who escaped destitution and death to start anew this side of the Atlantic. Both Biden and Obama descend from Irish shoemakers who came to the United States in 1849, only a month apart, but Obama has several ancestral lines which reach back into the colonial era."

They say it was money from Arabs. Arabs are buying the election, woohoo.

"I think she was largely responsible for the 150 million. Good fundraiser.:-)" I also think she really kicked it into high gear. Excellent use of the reactive force.

Omg.

Absolutely fascinating. I get karmic connection between the two with their populist appeal. I came from a shoe manufacturing town near Biden's home! I'm with them!!

I like this stuff.

Aha, that's just too coincidental. So it's the Irish shoemakers who are behind the whole thing!

Ethnic and cultural strengths are really amazing.

Obama does, however, have European royalty.

I was certain of this. I thought about the African royalty aspect but I got it from his mother's side. Very very interesting.

LOL!! "Lost sole"!

That's wonderful. Taking your father to the polls. It must be a madhouse in the City. Speaking of fathers and all this political closeness -- my father and his brothers had a trucking business which his father started. I love this Virginia guy.

This election day sure has the feel of celebration about it. Obama's gathering the night of the election is in a park in Chicago and Mayor Daley says there will be no restrictions. They're expecting an other-dimensional crowd in keeping with the theme.
