I Surrender

To the Whims of Paradise

What a great Fantasy picture! The colors are so vibrant with whimsical characters that can carry our minds away to another world, time and place.

Perry Como definitely slows the pace, but love the words "where we can do as you please" and "let's take a vacation". His voice is automatically relaxing, of course, he is too slow for me! But a great melancholy change of pace.
Looking back to quieter times, I am not sure better? The Gov. had us scared about something, {I cannot remember which thing now}, to interrupt that total tranquility.
I "surrender" makes me ponder many ideas. Walk away, come back later?
Make your own quiet world, disregarding all the noise around us? Right now, the cards are not in peoples's favor, so throw up our hands and party/bowl until June 2010? Shutting out, all this havoc, and making our own "vacation world", sounds the best, right now. Plant a garden.
Watch all the movies, and read the books you recommended. That picture really calls for one, to let go and enjoy a life we can make up. The division and hyprocricy seems to have spiraled out of control this week. It can really shatter the psyche, for no good reason-"outcome".

Share more pictures, they are wonderful.

OK!

Actually this is more of my satire, with serious truth in it, of course. Seems like everyone is waiting for something bad to happen to someone else. So I give up.

I think this song is hilarious. The first time I heard it was in a movie, sung by a midget to a room of misfits. It was sardonic and full of the wisdom of the ages. I think it fits these times. But I also think some truthful relief is coming in as people kind of see some of the impending reality.

That picture really calls for one, to let go and enjoy a life we can make up.

Yep. I'm paying scant attention to current events in the world. Not necessary. And I discovered that one can go away on a dreamer's holiday and come back to find nothing has happened. No change, really. Iran, torture, and all. Hope is weird.

We make up our lives anyway, so it might as well have something colorful and tasty.

A midget, in a room full of misfits? lol

Yes, we can go away, come back, and the same problems exist. There are too many balls in the air, and no decisions being made.
Any change is delayed by further investigations and committees.
More distractions,so that we cannot remember what is really going on?
It is a rediculous waste of time, and you are right, start the summer vacation.

Summer vacations are good. I have fond memories of popsicles and popping tar bubbles with my sneakers.

The old "shuffle", two step? Those tar bubbles were good practice.

Haven't had a vacation in years, but you reminded me, of stepping up to the old barstool, in the "drugstore", { in the south} having a grilled cheese sandwich, and soda with my friends, during summer breaks. Didn't have a care in the world.

Ah, Susan Boyle had done some changes already. Dyed her hair and some new clothes!

Oh, well, I have dyed my hair many times. Never changed me anyway!

The shuffle and two-step! I'm happily returning to the beat.

It was inevitable with Boyle and it doesn't take long. Fame is mostly packaging and marketing. It will be done as it is in heaven. Now is important because the image they decide upon will stick. It matters not since the moment is past and it never was about the woman. She'll probably become a somewhat ordinary star. Her singing is good but nothing unusual. It's all predictable. It was the moment and message and I was inspired to think again about my own ambitions dreamwise. And I'm making changes. Plus it was a nice break from torture and war. Gave torture a little competition.

I won't be following Susan because I don't like that kind of singing. She's good and the crowd will eat it, but her course is also uninteresting to me. It will be an anticlimax. Her big moment is past. She's not inventive, singing songs exactly as written with no interpretation or creativity, so it's fine for the masses, but leaves me short. I am pleased, though, that she's so much better than the other screamers so when she gets on the airwaves and into my brain I won't be crying in pain. I don't think. Most of them start screaming harder when they get successful, so we'll see. I'm crossing my fingers. Hope and all.

Can you believe I've never dyed my hair? Haven't been to a hairdresser in 45 years.

There is big big money involved and she is now a corporate commodity. They care nothing for artistry, and it's amazing how quickly humans sell out. It's in the hands of an age old criminal racket, but there is something flawed in the so called artists who go down that road. That kind of money in exchange for talent is obscene, and all kinds of horrid things are done to create and keep the market. The decisions are made by the bosses. They tell the performer what will sell and she has to go along with it once she gets stuck in the ride to the top. Or to the bottom as it really is. She just passed the top. Managers get 50% and they're in charge. They have no understanding of how little control they have before they get caught in the web.

The alternative route to marketing holds promise but still the lure of fame taints honest talent. Obscurity is protection. The longing for exposure creates the drive, but once it comes, the product suffers. You'll see that here with overdone arrangements and hyped up emotion, especially with the SN crossing Cancer and her Mars, Pluto opposing in a while, and Pluto eventually conjoining her Saturn. Uranus in Aries will be the struggle with her self. She'll wonder what happened to the nice singer she once was toiling away in sacrifice. Big lessons about success ahead. Saturn in Capricorn. Sold to the system. I'm glad I'm not her.

The charm of her 1st appearance was that she was a little bit meshugah, a tad haimish and schlub, a mensch in her own cutsy way, certainly exhibited more than a fair share of khutspe, and all topped with a dollop of bubkes. But the schtick is now old.

By the way was it here at RU that I posted my predictive analysis of a possible epidemic as one of the possibilities of the Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune conjunction? Can't remember. What a schmo!

The masses now have their teeth in her and the path is the same. Just like the bank bailouts, they are going to throw money at making her famous in this troubled economy, most of which will feed the corporations. So why do people whine about corporate control when they, themselves, are responsible for maintaining the system? They are the buyers. They give them the power willingly. They are the sytem. The whole thing. Pluto in Capricorn will do nothing until this is learned. The war game is theirs too and the games of the past week have been ludicrous. It boggles my mind that people don't see.

Can you believe I've never dyed my hair? Haven't been to a hairdresser in 45 years. That's somehow fitting, jm. After all, just about every newbie that wanders in here makes a huge assumption about your gender. :o)

Me neither, never dyed my hair. I'd look ridiculous in any other colour, except maybe purple. And I've been hacking at it myself for years too. What's with us JM?

Chiron,
The epidemic looks like it is on the way. Unfortunately. There could be a real possibility of swine flu coming via Mexico where already measures arebeing taken to control the epidemic.

The eyebrow raising part is that it contains swine, avian, and human influenza strains of a kind not seen before. And it's happening in April!

Vitamin C for everybody. Massive doses.

I dunno about Susan Boyle's makeover, seems pretty tame a very inexpensive trip to the local small town salon, I found it kind of humorous. Maybe she has never had enough money to do such a treat for herself. God knows the Brits are not known for their fashion sense and a make over of the wardrobe would be a supportable idea. I'm sure you could do wonders JM with your great costuming skills.

For me the grand part of the Susan Boyle phenomenon was all about the response at the moment the inner yearning set loose at the 29 degree. It was a nice bit of magic. I like knowing that magic hasn't been stamped out.

Heheh, you've got a point joe.

I don't know, tseka. Alls I know is that it's been quite a show watching what women do to their hair. And blow dryers make my brain scream. The lower level is bearable, though.

I don't use blow dryers anymore, haven't for 10+ years. Noise and heat damage, plus I figure I get enough radiation exposure as it is.

I too am suspicious about the timing of this flu. The Avian Influenza AKA bird flu never materialized, so I figure it's time to stampede the masses with a fresh new scare. Or maybe it's a depopulation bomb.

Funny how the human bird and swine genes just happened to get mixed into this type they're saying "has never been seen before."

Yep, take Vitamin C, and get some Thieves (a proprietary blend of essential oils found here) and wash your hands.

figure it's time to stampede the masses with a fresh new scare. I believe you're right. No one seemed to notice the beginning of the heavy sale of the next war in the midst of last week's circus. It was stated that the Taliban is now the greatest threat on the planet. Here we go again... Commies, WMDs, terrorists, and sick birds. Along with that they're going to "cripple" Iran. Nice statement for nontorturers.

But people love being scared, I think. Maybe it's all just entertainment.

Anyhoo, I'm glad to hear you don't blow joe!

Maybe I did mention that prediction here JM. Last year I wrote a piece on China in 2009 and posted it on several sites. Among other things I predicted a pandemic starting with the Jupiter, Neptune, Chiron confluence.
Looks like I got the timing right but the location wrong. Or maybe not. Time will tell.
