Medium Swing Tempo

Sometimes I wonder
What it's all about
I sit and wonder all day long,
Trying to figure it out.

The rich man is a liar.
The poor man is a thief.
The rich man no better than the
beggar man
And everyone is a cheat.

People talking to each other
Who is foolin' who?
You got to read between the lines
If you ever wanna know the truth.

You reach for satisfaction
Shove it into your mouth
Salt on a lick, a little sugar on a stick,
A little sugar for me now.

Coffee, cake, or candy
An evil cigarette.
A slip of this, a little bit of that
A little bit of happiness.

Oh my brother !
Shake your little stick
To satisfy yourself in this life
It's gonna take some kind of magic trick
.

Eeyeah
To satisfy yourself in this life
it's gonna take a little magic t
rick
.

He liked to draw pictures of his home too — a long single-storey, white house standing in a bay.

JM, just letting you know that if you see this name, it is I, the one and only Donnie. I just made a spoof of Little Green Footballs. Humor on a whole new level! Silly Me!! Now you know why they work Marines so hard. Let a Marine set too long, and he tends to find weird ways to pass the time away. In this case, it took 2 or 3 hours. Now to find a female blogger that would be willing to be Mooshell Milking. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I am in high spirits now. The rain has been over the top here. Flooding and making me take other detours just to get down the road. WOW! But the good news is that we don't have snow! HEHEHE! I am gonna run for cover before you see that last joke and slap me. I think the rain has given me a boost. Energy!! But I might overdose on it soon.

Tseka and astrid. I'm starting to go into other dimensions permanently with you around. Where do I begin? Once again, you are deep in the know.

I woke up suddenly hours before I normally do today. Something was coming in. I read your comments and I knew why.

Astrid, I simply am astounded by your perception. Son House was not only one of the greatest blues musicians, he was a philosopher and truth teller in the complete tradition of these amazing understanding people. In our over-intellectualized western way, the simple truth of the blues still rings clear. They all were brilliant philosophers and said it right to the point. Wisdom backed by experience and a way with words that no one has equaled since. We still have so much to learn from them.
Son House had an a odd and deep sense of comedy mixed with his tragedy. His lifelong search for love and his failures which he openly admitted.

You are so special. So mystical. Telepathic. And by the greatest stroke of fortune....bravely self-expressive. I'm reposting one of my early articles right below this and you'll know what I mean.

Tseka, you made me do it! So much to explore and uncover. You both make me feel like singing. When you get time, I'd like to know how you met.

It can't be explained, but of course, I will go on trying.
Thank you so so much.

When you get time, I'd like to know how you met.

We met on AstroWorld. After i posted my first post on White Raven i was deluged with people e-mailing and had an enormous amount of hits on my website.

Learned something then about the desire to attach to hope that is out there. Essentially what you and Neith speak of so often. Folks are looking for something - not Doom and Gloom.

I answered every email and several extended into conversations, friendships and treasures.

I actually have a great fondness for AW as i found there some jewels - like you JM, Neith, Juno, others...
Because i travel, i have had the divine pleasure of meeting some in person. You know about Juno, Joanna of Oregon others... It is all completely magical for me.

Everybody's got it. In the chip. We couldn't possibly survive without it.

As the Pisces squares the Sagittarius next year, I think many will feel more comfortable embracing it. Good news about White Raven.

The South Node in Pisces is particularly locked into futility. They feel the collective suffering but it's time to leave this and go to the North Node in Virgo which is a more detached analysis and solution approach to the problems.

The North Node in Pisces, on the other hand, feels the collective emotion but perceives the spiritual potential.

So that's where we are now with the transit. The NN Pisces people are particularly important now as they can act as guides to this understanding.

The SN in Virgo at this time, in a way knocks out analysis, including the future. That's why the astrologers are having difficulty pinpointing. It's not the time. It's the time to forget the linear and go for the full experience of the present.

I can't think of anyone more delightful and in the here and now than a Pisces in a good mood.

Do I ever feel it. This is what the Cap years are going to do for artists. There is a lot of money waiting to be spent in the art world. Lots of art is going to be traded.

I think it is no mistake that we are here preparing and inspiring one another. I know our work will flourish. We'll be ready. A deeper recognition. Art's value to society.

I have a friend, a Leo, we spent most of the night talking (my big birthday gift) about what's coming next in the art world.

He and i have both been in this for something like 30 years. We both sense a big, HUGE change a coming, we feel off center, but called to walk point and are clueless, just watching the stars....

In the book he just sent me he marked this: " Darkness was never something I was afraid of. The clarity, definition and profusion of stars became maps as to how one navigates at night. I always knew where I wa by looking up. (she paused) "My sons do not have these guides. They have no relationship to darkness, nothing in their imagination tells them there are pathways in the night they can move through.

Seems just as accurate if we read it metaphorically.

I an in complete accord. This is why I was so frustrated with the overuse of the word in its negative connotation. Darkness is sublime. I've always been a inhabitant of the night realm. I love it. Imagination comes to life. As well as comfort and safety. Not to mention the, well you know....quiet.

Uranus is the culprit! I should know with my 1000 aspects. I do like the trickster.

You are Uranus ruled. And so like my very Aquarian friends. The ruling planet of the ASC is everything. It's the leader and it's movement determines the scenarios of our lives.

My ruler, Mars, squares Uranus.

Your Uranus in Cancer is the story. Think Moon/Uranus in the Sun's house.

he subject of responsibility is such a good one. This won't be fleeting.

Pluto will be opposing USA Venus right off the bat. The grace and beauty factor. Then on to the Sun...pride and dignity. We have a lot to make up for. Artists are always something to be proud of in a culture.

I mentioned before that the Louvre launched a great show of American artists last year, saying we love America, and want to express it. This went on under all the hysteria.

We've had exceptional artists in this country. The wealthy now are extremely loaded and they will be spending money in support of this in the coming years.

ja seems like most of the story. maybe throw in the NN conj asc.

22/12/06 8:37 PM
Blogger jm said...

Yes! Throw that North Node in! By all means. So intersting that we both have the node in the 1st.

The Pisces/5th/Sun combo is great for the artist and also the actor. The shining of light on the illusory world.

22/12/06 8:42 PM
Blogger Tseka said...

Hmmm what we see is that the wealthy collectors are acting like cry babies and throwing little tantrums, demanding we indulge them- something has gone haywire with the senses, this needs correction.

We have our work cut out for us. Responsibility to create, guide but also demand or cultivate respect. Respect for the artist is sooooo lacking right now the worst in all my years.

22/12/06 8:42 PM
Blogger Tseka said...

Remember in the 60-70s Jm, the money given to the arts for all sorts of innovative (and public) projects? theater, dance, music, and it was all so affordable. I regularly went to concerts theatre, much of it was free, underwritten by grants. NEA which is now mostly defunct and private foundations. Perhaps as we shift from the current politics of fear and scarcity we will re-focus on what we really value as a vibrant society.

22/12/06 8:48 PM
Blogger jm said...

I know exactly what you mean about the worst and respect.

You are 1000% right. Let them get finished with the tantrums and when they're done, they must realize that they will not be getting the art unless they deal fairly. They know this. They've been in the business for a long long time. They are caught up in this orgy at the moment but it will soon be over.

I think they are going to have to shell out. Art is big big business.

Our part is to understand our value and position and the nature of the market as completely as possible. If we need agents, we should choose the best. We have the power and they are soon going to feel it.

That's where this feeling of new responsibility is coming from, I think. Our jobs. Our changes as we become mature and learn the ropes in selling our work. They will have to do what we say since we have the talent, the real commodity. I think the real will be seen clearly as separate from the fake with Capricorn. Quality.

The art world is very exciting. And the money is there.

22/12/06 8:51 PM
Blogger jm said...

It's hard to tell for sure, but a return to funding of the arts looks highly possible. I do think it will be different from the free 60's and 70's and taken more seriously.

Art is humanity's redemption. I think collective guilt in this country might also factor in.

We also have a few years left of Neptune in Aquarius helping out. Uranus in Aries will be fantastic energy for emerging artists. Then Uranus is Taurus trine the Cap will be great for business.

Most of all, I think artists are just feeling it. Cycles. Trends. They always do.

22/12/06 8:58 PM
Blogger jm said...

i'm hanging on every your word.

i've been incredibly lucky to be supported as an artist all these years, it hasn't hurt to be incredibly frugal either.

Still all around me good, no, excellent artists have been biting the dust these past few years. It is very, very difficult for me to watch. My friend and i talk about how what is true trash, i mean without a scintilla of worth is promoted. We wonder if it is an attempt to maintain control(over us). The gallery i quit last summer took in partners Midas Muffler and an international shipping executive...the folks running the show, probably best left unsaid. We all used to complain about the Dr's and Lawyer's wives who ran galleries, now we yearn for them. They may not have understood us but they appreciated art.

The new breed is simply mercenary, they have created the current crop of clients, others abandoned ship a long time ago.

We wonder how we can create a new venue.

This for me too. Many musicians have gone underground. I know this is for good reason.

It's awful what you're describing with the gallery, but I think the answer is right there. You walked away from it. If we do that, they will learn.

The wild card is the metaphysical influence. If good tatse becomes the item, then even if they are mercenary, at least the product will be of quality.

I haven't been able to stomach the recent market. So it better change. I don't think we can do much about the hard cold business part. everything changes constantly, and I think we're due. The trash will reach a saturation point. I know some doubt this, but I think it will.

The desire in the society will determine the market.
