It's Just Money

700 billion? ... Huh? .... 700 billion what?
I always thought the modern financial stuff a bit like evanescent liquids. We use words like solvent and flush to describe having funds but, on the other hand, it can disappear rather quickly.
Solutio (Latin: solutio; solvere = to loosen, to solve), the elemental water operation, to turn a solid into a liquid.

Kadimiros
The Taurus-Scorpio axis governs wealth and commodities exchange and soon Pluto opposes US Venus. No wonder the issue is surfacing in such a grand manner. Pluto is also in the US Venusian second house natally, and added to that are the moon's nodes in the second and eighth. May I repeat, no wonder.

Taurus is "what's mine" and Scorpio is "what's ours." The Scorpio ruler, Pluto, governs fair exchange, the driver of the market. Satisfaction guaranteed. When one considers the liquid nature of money and it's tendency to evaporate, how can anyone possess it really? More substantive resources can be owned, but the integrated picture of wealth with Pluto in Capricorn is about to receive a lot of attention, along with the routes to satisfaction of desire. The solid of Taurus turns into the liquid of Scorpio and who ends up with what can never be determined permanently. And what exactly is valuable is a large part of the question. Banked up assets can mean 700 billion things.

So what is this terror around money? Everyone is responsible for the fix we're in, and what's so terrible about that? That means people can fix it themselves. Easy money, something for nothing, buy now, pay later, and no leash on human greed. Might I repeat, no wonder.

Pluto travels to the essence in Capricorn seeking recognition of what material wealth is, especially when the trine to Uranus in Taurus comes. Deficit is part of the road to increase. Some of the rich become poor, some poor become rich, and some stay content with what they have. As always. The economic situation now didn't come about because of Reaganomics, free-market trade practices, conservative philosophy, a greedy few, or anything like that. It goes all the way back in American history. Perhaps in human history. Pluto in the 2nd with the south node was the set-up influencing the US to desire the biggest and the most of everything accompanying an obsession with money and business.

Pluto and Venus delve deeply into value systems. Loss and gain are learned. The ability to lose and gain with ease is the treasure, along with knowing that what's truly yours and valuable is yours to keep. Not easy for a 2nd house south node. If one doesn't relinquish, one can lose everything eventually. Some prefer that so they can start over. It can work in 700 billion ways.

When Pluto was in Cancer square Uranus in Aries, the Depression transformed the economic system and the government bailed out the impoverished people. Currently it's the reverse as the people now bail out the ruling class. There are advantages to this bailout in the long run. Power comes with it whether or not it's apparent yet. Government spending will be cut and taxes raised but along with this is a possible decrease in military funding as progressed Mars goes retrograde and defense becomes the aim. A strict tightening of spending in personal and social realms is inevitable and shared resources are destined to take on a new meaning. Self reliance and responsibility are the gifts of Pluto in Capricorn, along with a healthy understanding of fair exchange. Banking on your own assets is the most fruitful. There's no way of knowing how far the system needs to slide, but correction always happens. Also the conditions that lead to failure return, no matter what the good and the bad do. And the correction starts as soon as the failure starts. They happen together.

Sharing resources includes responsibility especially in Capricorn. Learning to wait for what one wants to possess is the deeper solution and in the end one treasures it more. "I admit I did overreach when I bought my last house," says the American casually, a little sheepishly.

There is much potential in this moment. During the Depression people did what they were told in semi-consciousness. But now, people are experiencing, observing, talking amongst themselves, learning, understanding, and participating. All kinds of people. A remarkable opportunity to exert influence, even if it takes time and hardship to manifest. It indicates a collective readiness to use the brain just one tiny bit and keep the hand out of the pocketbook every time insecurity strikes, regardless of Venus in Cancer. Already you can see that as pecking replaces shopping.

Every venture starts with a belief in success. Difficult times are expected. If you believe in failure then why bother? The fact is, we're here and we have to bother. There's never a guarantee as many of our investors are discovering right now. But anyone with a millimeter of intelligence knows that enthusiasm for a good outcome is an essential prelude to creating one.

So you know what? Take my 700 billion. It's just money. And please spend it wisely.

"So what is this terror around money?"

I'll take a swing at this...

Money is one of a number of things that allows us to feel "okay." "Self-calming" basically. Another big one is relationships...or accomplishment, or fill in the blank. Props that cover up our condition of separation from the One, or whatever you want to call "It." When the prop is removed or lost, our underlying turmoil is exposed, a turmoil we spend enormous time and energy hiding from ourselves. Not that this activity is even remotely conscious.

Not to worry though, "the fundamentals of our economy are strong!" lol

Helena. You are my dream come true. I've asked this question over and over all my life and absolutely no none has given me an answer. Until now.

That's interesting since money is a symbol of exchange. So too much desire could very well be a fear of separation. I am so intrigued by the psychology of money.

Money usually gets into bondage issues. The one who has the coin has the power. People are lured into promise of something in the future so they sell themselves in bondage to the creditor. That's what's happening right now in the country. It's a credit thing.

So then. The selling of self into bondage ensures the inability to separate. It's coming to me.

That's why I've never been in debt. I need the separation too much.

I still want to know the connection to desire.

Hey!!! God does provide! Don't go sassing my man!

JM, I'm not sure if you are engaging in a contemplation that uses my comment as a starting point, or if you're interpreting what I said. If the latter, and if I understand you correctly, it's really much simpler than your comments suggest. Maybe I wasn't clear. The separation I mean is primordial. It's a separation that's derived from being cast out into the creation in human form and the loss of awareness of unity with all existence. What I didn't mention is that experience of separation from the divine (which we all have if we drill down deep enough, to feel that, is very painful. It would make it difficult to cope in daily life. So, the obscuration of that knowledge is up to a point in our evolution necessary. Money, like other things, shields us from that awareness. Money allows us to feel in control when we're not in control of anything, less vulnerable, when that is our condition as human beings.

"I still want to know the connection to desire."

You want to know the connection between money and desire? I'm not following you. 8>)

Probably the starting point, helena.

I agree with you about primordial separation, but I think money represents more and therefore the complex feelings it arouses. Still your premise holds in my mind.

My Taurus friend put it well. "Money is manure". You spread it around and it fertilizes life. So the basic necessity is apparent and fears of survival could be triggered. But that could be related to your basic and simple view of primordial separation.

The Taurus-Scorpio axis is about the desire nature of human life and includes the exchange of money as we attempt to appease these desires. We use money to barter all kinds of things, emotional included, and for power. These are some of the things I'm interested in. The transaction factor.

In Scorpio, the desire is emotional and it doesn't diminish. In fact, Scorpio likes the state of desire so I think they purposely keep it aroused by temptation and asceticism.

Taurus, on the other hand, sees, wants it, gets it, and is satisfied. So money is often the means to satisfaction.

Even if money shields us from awareness as you say, it also is a bridge to pleasure, growth, and many other things in life.

But don't think I'm refuting! Just EXPRESSING!!! And debating, of course, with my Mars in Libra.

You know. Lead turning to gold.:-)

Yes, that's true too. On this plane, duality is the rule. So no one view expresses the whole truth.

Absolutely.

I've learned that most of all through astrology as it's come from malefic-benefic division to the kind that I do, which sees the plusses and minuses of every aspect. I lean toward banking on the assets so I look at the positive side and see how I can develop that. I'm working on it in terms of money with my Taurus NN. Life keeps nudging me to learn the pleasures.

I learned the pain when my partner used to get drunk and make long distance phone calls burning holes in our budget!

But seriously, Taurus likes money and relates to it practically. That's a good sign I should forget about the psychological implications.:-)

I agree, money is like manure.

This brings me to conservation of energy. I'd rather not touch the stuff, but it's necessary. Given that it's necessary, I cultivate the ability to only use it when necessary, and to prevent, as much as possible, my ego trying to use it to draw to me heavy material or karmic forms. Lead into gold, but the gold I'm after has no weight, it's the light of gold.

I'm making a lot of money right now, relatively speaking, yet it feels worthless in and of itself. My time is worth more than any amount of money. I'm living in the cheapest apartment I could find. I'm trying to get out of debt as fast as I'm able. Taking on a debt and actually working for money are probably the most difficult decisions I ever made. I'm a free spirit and it runs against my grain. I struggle with it every day. I saw the possibility of creating a home that served as a magnifier of my energy, in the center of a landscape that speaks to me. I feel the potential for drawing unto myself prodigious amounts of energy, enough to jump state yet again. Without enough energy, and without the base, I can't maintain the orbit I seek. I need to sustain it, and I need relative isolation and separation to be there when I need it. And I need to still be young when it hits full force. I'm after that orbit because it's there I can read and follow the instructions built into my incarnation.
