Good morning everyone!!
The Terror celebration knocked me for a loop, but after a great night's sleep and a good swim I'm ready to move forward. Onward and upward too!

Well at least it's not cheerios and water.

Nowadays, it's coffee & toast for me . . . I do have fond memories of incredibly strong black tea & buttered bread w/cheese that was break fast in Finland. Everyone in Scandinavia I think stops for strong coffee w/coffee breads @ 11ish . . . nice custom!

Yes Neith, for me too and scones some morns. i may not like to cook but i still can whip up the best coffe cakes and breads. i don't think you get out of a scandinavian household without these skills. Coffee making was highly competitive around me as a kid, some used egg shells in the filter. I've not mastered coffee making, (my shame) my son has, his brew will knock your socks off. (and clear up those wineglass-sweet-nothings for you Kad!!)

My Gran served strong black tea, bread and cheese with tart jam.

Mornin'!

No cheerios for me. Tony the Tiger and his frosted flakes is more my thing. Used to be. Now, like neith, it's one huge steaming cup of freshly ground coffee and three pieces of toast, all different breads. Today:

A whole wheat mini pita
A jalapeno cheese bread A whole wheat slice
A teaspoon of antiterror syrup

may not like to cook

Tell me it's not true!

Thanks so much for the recipe, Kad.
But tomato juice with cheerios?

"But tomato juice with cheerios?"

Yeah, it looks kinda like spaghetti-o's! Orange juice works pretty well, if the cereal isn't too sweet.

Well, last night I sprinkled creole seasoning on chicken breast, oven baked that. I thought about melting cheese on top, but was too lazy to go that far. Flavored rice and chicken soup with egg noodles. For dessert, plums and oranges.

Are you trying to give me ideas?

Chicken ain't nothin' but a bird! According to music great, Cab Calloway. He was also a philosopher and a Capricorn.

I'm glad you deleted the cheese.
It's so odd. As I progress through life my tastes change. I used to eat a lot of cheese and now almost none.

I'd stop before the chicken soup and egg noodles, though.

I grazed last night. As an Aries asc I often eat on the go. Standing up.
I intend to reach perfection, my North Node in Taurus, and mastery of the art of sitting down to a regular meal.

Have you met Myrtle Rae's chicken yet?
You might want to watch your step.

Nope JM, by the end of the day i just want to eat it, not cook it too. Still i'm averse to commerially prepared food so have to put in the time. Just do not enjoy it. Winter is better, slowing down, simmering soups on the woodstove...fresh breads and in general food is more interesting when it's not 110 out.

It's awful, tseka. I tell myself over and over to be patient, do as Kad does and wait for the oven, and be CIVILIZED! But so far I'm healthy. So that's that.

Cheese on the chicken really is too much. I'm amazed at how far chefs in restaurants go to muck up the eating process. Food on food swimming in food with food on the side.

13/9/06 2:44 PM

I cook maybe once a week and store it in the fridge. But I live on bread and salads lately.
I still need to cook some pots of beans.

Maybe kad could cook for us and email it.

No cheerios though!!

Ja, agreed, i'm mainly for simple fare thai and stir fry, pretty much what looks good at the saturday organic farmer's market is the week's menu.

Salmon, and vegetables
Beans and vegetables

'course life is easy when i only h ave to please myself.

I love Thai. And Vietnamese. Whenever I'm insecure I crave Italian....tomatoey. I was Italian in a recent life.

What about the famous beloved?

I feel that way about cheeseburgers. I had lunch with a client who ordered one in an Irish place, and I said, "I was thinking about cheeseburgers, too. I thought, 'That's putting back together in a totally unnatural way two different parts of the same once living creature.'"

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Cheese is heavy stuff really.

It said you would be cooking my dinner tonight:
Eggplant parmesan(easy on the cheese)
Slivered green beans
Multigrain bread chunk
Small salad with grape tomatoes

I expect that to ne emailed by 8:00 PM.

It sounded just like that way out here in the desert too. I eat earlier so 7pm pdt would be just about the same delivery tome. Jm weren't there almonds in the green beans? I think so.

only one beloved JM, when did this happen? Uranus over the North Node accompanied by moon and mars. (square his Sun as the North Node transited it)

we can speak of this on the patio when you get the van or when the cows come home or in bits as seems right.

13/9/06 4:10 PM
Blogger jm said...

I'm moved by this information, tseka. We share this deep desire at the North Node. The sense of what is true and right.

The patio, yes. Pieces of the patio. The cows, the bobcats, Raven, the insects, and my cat, Gogs, who died 35 years ago.

My only question now is if this is connected to the gallery withdrawal timewise.

All this Cawfee Tawk (tm) reminds me of how hard it is to find a decent cup of coffee anywhere in a restaurant in this state. Ever since I started with the French press, a dollop of real cream from Minnesota cows, and a dab of Muscovado sugar, I can't stomach much of the godawful brew that they serve in restaurants.

13/9/06 4:31 PM

No,i withdrew from the gallery two months ago.

Ah, Gogs, my Mavis (cat) 21 died this spring, they are all our beloved ja? Now it's me an' Zamma (20) who is missing two teeth -but we don't talk about it.

You're a natural joe.

Minneola Tangelos are on sale...$1.99 lb....and if that crazy cook in NYC could stay out of the wine long enough, maybe he could make us a Tangelo torte. I'll spring for the purchase.

Along with a cup of joe's joe, I'd be in heaven

Joe sounds divine, count me in. You can get a reasonable cuppa just about anywhere on west coast now. Even Mc D's serves Seattle's Best or Starbucks.

As to that diabolical "muahahahah" that emanated from NYC, hold the dinner order, i'll be cooking my own tonight. I don't think my stomach is up to commando mode substitutional cooking.
