An Afternoon Snack

Planet Earth? Calling Planet Earth! Uranus to Earth!

We think space travel, alien creatures, and all out futuristic weirdness is something new? Well this photo from 1965 tells a different story, speaking of hair. I'm just drying my hair, ma'am. I have a hot date tonight. I am NOT taking off into outer space. I want to marry the guy, settle down, and have an ordinary life.

Our lovable planet of surprise and eccentricity, Uranus, is about to turn around and go direct. No telling what's ahead. We can already see a sudden shocking shift in our country's political landscape. I'm sure there's more to come.

Written in our chip is this urge for advancement. Travel into the unknown. The REALLY unknown. Dramatic at times and impossible to prevent. "Sudden upsetting events", the astrologers always say being unable to predict. Well I'll bet the farm that you can't tell if even they will be upsetting.

There is no end to this magician's creativity. He governs the nervous system and the connection to the universal mind somewhere out there beyond our earthly cognizance. Whatever we have planned, the opposite will happen. Uranus even spins on its side, the opposite of all the other planets.
Progress is a given with this marvelous entity, so get into your space vehicles and get ready for the exciting ride with this Great Galactic Explorer!

Uranus makes me laugh.

Add to this Jupiter and a whole slew of other planets going into Sagittarius. Wild and exciting times ahead. The only reverse is Saturn going retrograde in Leo sending our hapless archaic hideously misguided leaders going down the drain!

And a bit more on your partner's coming out of himself into the spotlight as his Leo Rising indicates.

I got out of astrological counseling long ago because people were expecting answers to what was going to happen externally. As much as I tried to explain the underlying patterns they refused to use the information. This is why I'm inspired by your reaction to astrological knowledge.

The planets won't tell. They do nothing. What they do is show us the subconscious workings that are manifesting as our external reality. We remain confused as long as we don't make this personal connection.

In don't know exactly why it is that people think things are controlling them from the outside completely. It does appear that way, but I would think people would leap at the chance to control from within.

As Uranus starts up, many will see the outer excitement as change, but nothing will change unless we connect from our own selves, our own charts showing us how and where. Instead of waiting for life to happen, we are then creating life.

So simply put.

You look at where Uranus is transiting in the natal chart. You look at where Uranus was at birth in your chart. Put it all together and you can plot your own path into new directions in your own way. Uranus is an opening up of alternate pathways. A tangent you suddenly see revealed. Big awakenings like this are temporary so the moment is precious.

Almost forgot. Look at the house that's ruled by Aquarius and any planets in the sign.
This is especially significant for Aquarius Rising.

On a roll here. So here is an indication.

Your SO has an Aquarius 7th house ruling partnerships. you can expect some awareness there. The transit is in his Pisces 8th so shared power could be one thing.

You have an Aquarius 10th so professional status could be highlighted. Transit in your Pisces 11th, so how to use your compassion and understanding in a constructive way to help collectively and get recognition.

A start.

I'll give you one more example because it's so magically orchestrated.

Tseka is an Aquarius rising, ruled by Uranus. Uranus is in her 5th house of creativity by birth, transit in the 1st...identity.

Lo and behold her website goes down and she is going to completely redefine The representation of her creative identity.
perfect indeed.

Clap, Clap, Clap!!! Whistle!!! You go, girl! jm, that is just marvelous. . . Uranus truly inspires you.

Even w/Aquarius intercepted in my 3rd house, Uranus is still a major player in my chart . . . sun/moon in 11th(house ruled by Aquarius) trine to Uranus on cusp of 8th. Yes, Pat & tseka both have felt Uranus strongly lately! Busy guy, that one.

Yep Uranus is without doubt the big player of my chart, i certainly take notice. Venus in the 8th in Sco in grand trine with transiting and natal uranus means it's the wheel of change for sure. Has been all year with jup working the mid degrees.

Somewhat off topic, if there is such a thing as off topic in Raging Universe.

i was just reading my usual stuff; some translations of the Edda about measuring time and eons. Rummaging around, this interesting little factiod turned up, it is new to me, perhaps not to you all....

How Christians measured the
Ages Pisces, Aqurarius...etc
"The yearly count of the Julian and Gregorian calendars was based on the false premise that the constant of precession was 66.6y/1°. "

mark of the beast??is a calendar measure of the turning of Ages....the animals of the zodiac? 66.6 (years) is the "mark" (one degree)of precession associated with those animals? The word zodiac comes from the same root as zoology ...the circle of animals.

Would you believe when i was in grade school, I used to trade lunches with my friend who the "good stuff" like Twinkies & bologna sandwiches. BTW, this photo brings back memories of going to a college prom in '65 . . . shudder. I liked the '70s lots more!

HA HA HA!! Frippin bologna man! I alway was intrigued by how the spelling got to that pronunciation!

And those damned proms! Don't get me started.

I think this upcoming year is going to be a lively one neith. Finally.

yah - we could go on & on about that!

bologna - from the Italian I believe. Funny stuff that now I consider practically inedible. However, my friend's mom always used Best Foods mayo (or Hellmans) and I still like that.

I do get the feeling this particular passage of Jupiter in Sag will be a memorable one, especially when it makes contact with Pluto! Which will be in early December 2007 at 28Sagittarius right on tseka's sun . . . oh my!!

I was involved with some famous musicians in Woodstock years ago and they bought the Hellman's owner's mansion. When we moved in we found his boxer shorts. They measured four feet across at the waist! I kid you not! We laughed so hard we split our contrasting little guts.

ha, ha, ha, ha!!! Venus in Sag is usually a good time for this ole gal . . . whenever any planet moves from Scorpio the energy completely changes! Lynn Hayes & I both noticed a big change when our suns progressed out of Scorpio into Sag! :-)

now just cuz you're 60 you don't get the "ole" title yet.

This change from Scorp to Sag is amazing. Also the lunation. New Moon in Scorp, Full in Sag. The mutual reception with Jupiter and Pluto will end and all holds will be barred. A veritable sling shot to the cosmos!

I talked all last year about this moment of enthusiasm but no one believed me. Of course, none have a Moon/Jup in Sag in the 9th so how would they know. But Venus in Sag in the 1st is a great one. All this shared Sag energy is going to be a thing to behold. Oh wait! It can't be held. Oh well. Let the arrow shoot!

Hmm... maybe 2007 with Jupiter in Sag will be the last big "keg" of Sagittarian/Jovian fun to go around for a while, before we have the "hangover" and the cleanup -- the real work -- to begin, with Pluto in Cap?

jm, i've been lurking about a little, but I never have time to post here as much as I would like. I did catch one of your earlier threads, about the various shifting that would occur with Pluto in Capricorn.

Honestly, other than Nancy Pelosi, I can't think of any stand-out archetypal women emerging that I know of yet, who would be suggestive/representative of the Pluto in Capricorn energy, although I am certain that they are on their way. Certainly so by 2008. I somehow don't see Hillary Clinton being a fit here, but rather, someone entirely new. Some of them almost certainly have won seats in this new Congress, however, and we have yet to hear about them in a major way. But we will.

I agree that Katie Couric has been quite a disappointment so far. And she's a Cap Sun to boot. Maybe she'll figure it out by the time of the Pluto ingress? I somehow don't think we've seen the very best of her yet.

I've been thinking for awhile too that fashion will probably become much more formal, as will just about everything else. "Dressing up" to go out in public will be en vogue, almost as a direct reaction to the Pluto in Sagittarius era of anything-goes and letting it all hang out (and I mean everything!) Suits, formal dresses and uniforms, or uniform-esque wear will become extremely popular, and certainly won't be without some new and creative twists. Pluto transforms, after all.

I've read suggestions of the emergence of a "Neo-Victorian" era during the mutual reception of Pluto in Capricorn/Saturn in Scorpio, a few years down the road. THAT could be a very interesting time. Capricorn/Saturn energy can have a rather repressed way about dealing with sex and sexuality. But it can also produce some very focused and creative results. Take a look back at the fashion styles of the original Victorian period.

What I see coming, or making a comeback: Manners, etiquette, statesmenship (definitely more John Kerry and Barak Obama), formal dinners and dining out at fancy restaurants, Ballroom Dancing (think "Dances with the Stars").

Definitely, we will see a return to true vocalists and musicians. Pluto in Sag seems to have been all about style and marketing with little substance and actual talent in this regard. Britney Spears without a doubt will give way to Michael Buble. I see vocalist, jazz and instrumental/classical music becoming much more prominent, popular and influential, and probably having a major transformative impact on existing pop music.

Trains will certainly make a major comeback here in the US, and by necessity. I see them being everywhere, as the forced transition away from fossil fuels will require us to finally do and build, what we should have done and built so long ago. Not that this is an undesireable outcome by any stretch, IMHO. Trains are cool.

One trend I see that will definitely pick up steam in coming years: A revitalisation of and return to our central cities. The suburban boom and expansion, bearing the signature of Jupiter/Sag is waning with that energy, and will probably go into full reverse at some point, as we have overbuilt into the far reaches of the countryside, erecting palatial homes that we cannot even afford to heat, much less maintain over the long haul!

If you've got an inner city house, keep it. Fix it up. It's probably much smaller and definitely more efficient to heat and far more realistic to maintain than any Faux Chateau/McMansion. If you don't have an inner city home now, and you're thinking about it, don't think too much longer, is all I will tell you.

On the flip side, if you don't like the city, the really far-flung rural towns, way outside of the encroaching rings of cul-de-sacs, are also due for a revival, as we collectively realize that organic farming is the way to go. Lots of those old, abandoned or dying towns will see a lot of new life breathed into them, and from interesting sources... business executives, computer programmers and other more or less displaced folk.

Anyway... chew on all that for awhile. I've got to get some sleep!

I thought the precession was somewhere around 70 years per. We can find that out. I have to reflect on the animals, an interesting subject for me.

Neo. That is a fantastic post. Thank you so much. The list is wonderful and inspiring and I'm going to be back in awhile to respond to some specifics. You really got me thinking. My toothache is gone so I'll be able to chew with relish. Be back soon.

Neo, that was an awesome post . . . so much to consider!! Exactly the kind of thing my Scorpio Mercury loves to ruminate on. :-)

Hey, jm - it occurred to me as I was getting ready for bed last night that you & I were sitting here cheerfully chatting & speculating in an upbeat way in defiance of the general astrological predictions of doom & gloom for the evening. Saturn was sq the Sun yesterday evening . . . and my ASC almost exactly! There are layers & layers of benefits to this whole Second Saturn Return. I'm going to continue to observe this process while Saturn is squaring that most personal of points . . . the ASC.

On to neo's great post.

other than Nancy Pelosi, I can't think of any stand-out archetypal women emerging that I know of yet, who would be suggestive/representative of the Pluto in Capricorn energy

I agree. I think Nancy and her Aries energy are jump starting us. Hillary is out for sure. She's a doormat with nothing to stand for. She just smiles a lot and finds some rhetoric that goes with the prevailing wind. Totally unconvincing and no leadership skills. Not the woman of the future.
Very interesting about Couric being Cap. But then, so is Dolly Parton and I don't see her as the future model! They will emerge as Saturn lightens the shadow on leadership and leaves Leo. Virgo will be when the real work starts.

I've been thinking for awhile too that fashion will probably become much more formal

I think so and that is wonderful about a Neo Victorian Age. I happen to like the Victorian styles.

I hadn't thought about this mutual reception and I'm so glad you pointed it out. I think a diminishing of this vulgar sexuality would be great, even if some repression is involved. people can have their sex privately. They should anyway. I would like to see less in the media and attempted arts. It's a false sexuality anyway.

I have a good feeling about Saturn and Pluto together. Tremendous powers of concentration and the chance for excellence and achievement. We're due. I think it will be good to trim down, consolidate, and get closer to the bone after the excesses of the Sag years.

Definitely, we will see a return to true vocalists and musicians

This would be heaven on earth. I think you're right. That's why rap probably has been so big. People got burned out from bad singing and just dropped it altogether. The 40's was the last time we had great technique. The 50's and 60's still had some but after that it all went to hell with out of control screaming. Off key. Lots of throat surgery. People get away with being completely unskilled. It should end somewhat.

And this is unbelievable in relation to your prediction. In the hotel downtown last week at the celebration of the dems victory all was raucous as usual. I left and stood for a moment in the front of the hotel. Very elegant and would you believe? CLASSICAL music was coming out of the speakers! I was stopped in my tracks and knew the future looked good.
Refinement is coming.

major transformative impact on existing pop music.

I think every generation does this as Pluto transits. Subtlety should be making a comeback and that includes costuming.

Trains will certainly make a major comeback here in the US, and by necessity

This is one of my favorite predictions. I don't fly. I travel by train. John Kerry mentioned this in the debates and it got my attention. Think you're right again.

And housing. Yes. I think revitalization of cities and most of all...downsizing.

I think we will be looking at our architecture and deciding with Pluto what will be preserved and what will come down. Picking the solid structures from the weak and the cities will be the stage, as we rebuild in a new way. The last years have been excessive with too much height, too little substance, and no thought for endurance. Capricorn.

If you want some more to chew on take a look at this.

USA Progressed Chart

Capricorn rising, Pluto at 29 Cap. and Saturn in Scorpio. Libra MC. Mars retro there.

Will Pluto trigger all of this? The problem is the PSouth Node conjunct Pluto and maybe a lot of struggle as we adjust to the restriction.

That P.Pluto hanging out at 29 Cap is fascinating. What a Pluto return.

I always thought that Uranus transiting our 4th in Aries would get us in touch with our inner strength. P.Venus is there and this is also interesting.

A lot of indications that we might be coming into a real leadership role but not without hard lessons. Definitely some serious days ahead.

You guys got me so interested in Uranus, I had to play with the Ephemeris to see when it will get around to finally crossing my Sun (25 degrees Pisces)...thought THAT might be an interesting date.

And BOY!!! is it! It's my birthday 2010 -- and I will have four planets in close conjunction -- Sun, Moon, Mercury, & Uranus. & Jupiter will be at 13 degree Pisces and Neptune will be approaching a conjunction to my natal Venus. Think I'll take a vacation day that day.

ummm...anybody have any ideas what all that means? It sounds like one of the more meaningful days of my life.

One thing casey is your nodal axis which is involved.

The 5th South, 11th North is a person who wants to be a democratic part of the group, but whose personal melodramas end up taking center stage. This eventually alienates the group the person longs to be a part of. This person can help others find confidence and be in the limelight when working well and the joy of belonging and not feeling lonely is the payoff. Then frienships add up with no effort and provide great rewards.

All the planets in your 11th will be helping you realize this goal of collective participation, while some of the personal dramas can diminish. The trade off would be worth it.

What you do now can be a good leadup. This is such a fantastic opportunity.
