The 110th Congress of the United States of America

This is for all you astrology lovers.

With four planets in Cancer it's no wonder that this country's politicians are immature, overemotional, and prone to nursery school shenanigans. All while 300 million people are in need of governance.
After Jupiter transits wild and fun loving Sagittarius, and the pandemonium of next year subsides, some very very interesting developments are coming up astrologically for the 111th Congress and the election season of 2008.
Next November Mars is going retrograde. A big event. It will be in Cancer, exactly on the USA Cancer (babyhood, immaturity) stellium. It will go back to Gemini and oppose Pluto in Sagittarius at the final 29th degree in January 2008. Then Mars will go direct and be back in Cancer just in time to meet Pluto at 0 degrees Capricorn in March. I'm watching this closely. This is part of the bridge to the new era and will influence the next election a great deal. Letting go of the immaturity, incorporating the Sagittarius lessons, and getting ready to face the serious adult Capricorn years ahead.
Will the United States grow up? I'm taking bets now.

Along with this transit as it prepares the country for the long opposition between Capricorn and Cancer, is the responsibility of the netroots community.

When people focus too much on emotional personal hatred, and especially on ones that have seen their day, they miss looking at the new ones coming up and the scrutiny required for discernment in voting.

It's a hard hard habit to break. We have to be aware of what leaders are doing, but once that is done, what the populace does about it is the important thing. It gets like a game of telephone when the deeds are repeated gratuitously over and over with no mention of solutions.

We have to think creatively too. Our elected leaders are really there to carry out our desires and decisions. This election I think was a watershed in that it demonstrated who's in charge.

We have such a fantastic opportunity with this new tool of communication to engage in the decision making of our country.

If it does, it will be with lots of kicking and screaming!!! :-) But Pluto is like a parent that says, "we can do this the easy way, OR, we can do it the hard way". Humans do tend to opt for the hard way . . . :-)

Why is that? Maybe it's a good thing. Increases appreciation.

With Sun, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury in Cancer we will not get out of this without radical change.
I agree, it will be hard.
But I'm sympathetic with my Sun and Merc in Cancer. I'm pulling for this growing nation.

As I mentioned earlier, the first planet to be hit will be Venus at 3 degrees changing the role of women in our society. We are already seeing the signs. There is a lot to it as women will have to change too from being perceived from the Cancerian perspective to the more detached and responsible Capricornian. A blend is sure to develop but it will be intersting to see all the subtle changes. I wonder what will happen to the stilettoes?:-)

Now there will be something to follow! Fashion trends often reflect our changes as a Society, don't they! :-) The key word, IMO, is "perceived" . . . I'm ready for the Capricorn perspective myself.

It occurred to me that the failure of Katie Couric even after the tremendous hype is a harbinger of things to come. She represents the outgoing model to me. The same with Hillary and her "stand by your man" approach to her marriage after the worst public humiliation. Of her daughter too.

The fashions will be very interesting.
I'm ready for Cap too in that there's a chance to be taken seriously as a professional.
I think the Sun/Jupiter/Venus conjunction in the USA chart indicates a lot of potential power among women. Capricorn will favor the mature ones.

Our long national nightmare is close to being over

Phillip Clapp, President of the national Environmental Trust, on the fact that Denocrats will steer environmental issues in the new Congress.

The coming environmental movement is telling. The Earth has nourished us for so long and now we are faced with a return on the deed.

All the Cancer likes to be nurtured but now I think this country will have to do the nurturing of the parent.
The thing about it is that it will be good business (Capricorn) to protect the environment.

Katie Couric is a good reporter but I believe you're right. She sure seems too bland now as she is. Can you think of anyone who you feel to be representative of the new model? I'm not able to at the moment.

Good! Get rid of the greedy, short sighted SOB's!! It just seems to obvious that helping the Earth find balance is again is the smart thing to do . . . . :-)

Great question neith. I'd like to get everyone's opinion on that.

Isn't it interesting that no one pops into my mind either? Are we that far behind?

BTW, Barbara Boxer will be the new head of the environmental committee in Congress. She was impressive a while back when she was briefly in the spotlight. I don't know enough about her.

I've got my eye on who will be the next 1st Lady. Laura was certainly out of the dark Ages. I have a feeling the next one will be active.

Isn't she! Not sure I remember where it was now, but Casey & I had a discussion about her not being nearly as nicey nice as we've been led to believe. There are a whole lot of aspects of this administration that smack of the Dark Ages...shudder.

I will be eyeballing various women in the public eye to see who pops out. Barack Obama seems a natural on the masculine side.

Laura is not nice. Saturn/Pluto conj in Leo on the nadir square the asc and her Scorpio. Hidden control. Killed her 1st man and I think she's doing it slowly to this one. SN in the 7th.

Obama will rise. And there are a bunch of new ones that will reveal all kinds of things coming up. Webb from Virginia is going to be big. We need to look at his chart. He is looking like the folk hero type.

Tester from Montana has got to be the most original one of all. He has seven fingers and has hardly moved off the farm. One in a trillion hairstyle. So unique. he, I think, is part of the Aquarius/Pisces operating. Need his chart too.

But women? Where are they?

I know one thing. Pelosi has that Moon in Scorpio opposite the Taurus stellium, with Venus there I think. Other women are not her favorite things. Competetive Aries who loves power. Watch out Hillary!

BTW.

Webb ran on the issue of class disparity. he is speaking epoquently about the unfair distribution of wealth. people are paying attention. Is this man for real?

Well here it is. Sun and a couple of other planets in Aquarius and Mars/Saturn conjunct in Cancer. Care of the people and an egalitarian system. This one is interesting. USA Moon in Aquarius with our Cancer stellium. He's already resonating with the public.

Interesting about Nancy Pelosi and her NN in Libra....the compromises she will have to make. well the 1st one has happened. She wanted Murtha and but didn't get her way. Interesting times ahead.
