Do you think God's jealous?

Oh...I'm reading that Arthur Godfrey had a terrible ego. What a name to bring up in this context. :-)

Ironically, the name "Godfrey" means "God's peace, godlike peace, from God and frid or frede, peace, or from Gau-fred, joyful peace."

Hi Kad, heh, it just sprung to mind. My Gran watched him and her expression matched that of these sisters.
"Omnipotence" and ego and TV well....
or
Godfrey
Good Frey the twin flame of Freya. Freya, the feminine, often associated with Venus. Frey her complement in Nordic myth associated with not mars and war but earth and contentment.
And more irony...Freya = friday
good friday....

An interesting picture jm-- women, religion, and the media. All forces to reckon with as we move forward. I just read a very good column on Hillary by Katha Pollitt, one of my favorite columnists. Its at http://www.thenation.com/doc/20061120/pollitt

(In my luddite way I don't know how to make that a link)
I may reconsider Hillary myself.

Thinking about the discussion yesterday about Pelosi vs Hillary, if a Dad is the nurturing one in a relationship, why not? Isn't that in part what women have been hoping for -- a more equal sharing of both nurturing and career. Giving both sexes more balance. Of course no one is going to be completely balanced, especially in these times.

Maybe it was Lawrence Welk!!! Another favorite of 50's TV . . . another of the "wonderful" childhood memories of visiting the grandparents who had a TV (we didn't). :-)

And, juju, I know I would seriously consider voting for Hillary in '08, especially if Barack Obama was on the ticket . .

And women as obedient and sexless too. Even with all the overt display of sexuality, the underlying truth is that the puritanical attitude remains. Pelosi again and how her Aries and Scorpio sexuality will express.

I long for the day when women don't express it by being half naked with cannonball breasts forcefully squeezed together and then all belied by Betty Boop voices and veneered smiles. Subservient to advertising.

I doubt very much if Hillary will be the nominee. I don't think she can win.

Hillary is not a leader from what I can see with her Moon in Pisces. But most of all we can't go back to the Clintons now. We've got to go to another chapter. She will be fine in the Senate.

The Moon is conjunct Jupiter in Capricorn on election day and Pluto is back to 29 Sagittarius. The Cap trines Saturn in Virgo.

This is serious leadership. That's what we need. A great organizer and administrator, and with the 29 Sag, very very talented in foreign relations as we rebuild in that area.

I think it would be great if we separate ourselves from personal feelings in the next election and take a real discerning look at the qualifications and how they fit our situation.

Hillary is like a pop star. And I feel she is after power more than understanding of government and a whole country of people that need attention. I think there is someone else on deck who is perfect.

I don't feel comfortable putting my destiny in her and her people's hands. It's the archaic part of the Dem Party.

Another problem with Hillary is that she's dragging corruption with her and would be used in the campaign. If anything has come clear, the people are ready to part with this. There is a vague poss that the campaign will be clean so we need someone who stands for ethics and dignity.

This is precious!

Remember Pelosi's stellium in Taurus (spending)? Get this!

If you want to sponsor pork in the new Congress you’ll have to own it. The incoming Madame Speaker of the House has made it clear there will be no anonymous pork on her watch.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said her first agenda item after being elected House speaker will be a vote to require sponsors of earmarks to be identified. Currently, lawmakers can remain anonymous in sponsoring an earmark, which is language in a bill that directs funds or tax benefits to a business, project or institution.

Pelosi told USA TODAY last week, “There has to be transparency. I’d just as soon do away with all (earmarks), but that probably isn’t realistic.”

Go Nancy!!!

I heard this too, and I have hopes she will accomplish this. Surely someone will come up with a time of birth for this woman soon. We need that final piece of the puzzle!

Already her NN in Libra. She wants all earmarks gone but will have to compromise.

Astrologer Kathryn Cassidy somehow got it right. On November 6, 2006, she declared on Collaborating With Fate:

"In the Mercury transit of 1960, democrat JF Kennedy, a Gemini, was elected as President of The United States of America. On May 9th 1970 100,000 people demonstrated in Washington DC against the Vietnam war and under the 1973 transit Congress limited Presidential powers to wage war. In 1986 democrats regained control for the first time in 6 years.
"I don't think I need go on. It looks highly likely that the Democrats will take control of Congress."

Godfrey's closest aspect is Mercury tightly conjunct Venus. :-)

But it seems that he had other close aspects that did him in.

He was immensely popular. :-)

There seems to be no clue on the Internet about Pelosi's birth time.

I did come across an astrologer's blog wherein it was stated that Pelosi would be unlikely to become Speaker (because Saturn in Leo is squaring her Venus).

Although why one can't associate the job with increased tension and challenge, particularly in relationships, I'm not sure!

That assessment was made back in the summer, not so long ago.

For many people, the future has become unknown country.

But there is no way back, and old boundaries can no longer be secured.

One of my favorite creatures is the chambered nautilus, which moves inside its shell all its life creating a new chamber to live in continuously. It seals off the old one permanently. The end result is a beautiful fan-like swirl of progressive chambers, thin and delicate, pinkish, orangeish, yellowish, brownish. Very nice.

Oh, a very nice metaphor!

It's got the logarithmic beauty of the golden spiral. I'm intrigued by the Golden Ratio as it appears in art, architecture and Nature.

Golden Ratio?

14/11/06 1:17 PM
Blogger kadimiros said...

Approximately 1.16180339....I remember it to 8 decimal places! Isn't that scary!

It has various names -- the Golden Mean, Golden Section, mean of Phidias, etc. (Phidias is widely regarded as the greatest of ancient Greek sculptors.) It can be found in a most aesthetically pleasing ratio of two lines of unequal length. It has unusual mathematical properties.

Well, speaking of God and Venus, Renaissance artists called it "the divine proportion" and used it in their paintings. It has been spotted in the temple architectures of different cultures. The proportions of the Parthenon contains numerous golden rectangles.

The ratio is in mystical symbols such as the five-pointed star that is the Pythagorean's pentalpha (5 letter A's overlaid form a pentagram), and the six-pointed star formed by two overlapping triangles.

In Nature, the logarhythmic spiral appears in the spira mirabilis (miraculous spiral) of the nautilus, or the spiral arms of hurricances and galaxies.

A line can be drawn within the golden rectangle, dividing it into a square and a smaller golden rectangle. Repeatedly done to successively smaller rectangles, the outermost vertices of the squares are points through which a golden spiral can be drawn.

The golden spiral in the nautilus shell is an example of self-similar growth.

I wonder if anyone has ever asked whether God is narcissistic?!

The vortex too? The hurricane on Saturn and the fall of kings with Saturn in Leo.

The DNA spiral. It's everywhere. The orchestration so very clear.

LOL. I think maybe so and we are a reflection of this entity's performance.

Also known as fibonacci numbers one of the more fascinating parts of homeschooling was finding all the fund things that i missed in my own education! What could be more fun that going on a treasure hunt for Fibonacci examples? As you say Kad, mystery and beauty.

Oh, the Fibonacci number page says, "French composer Erik Satie used the golden ratio in several of his pieces, including Sonneries de la Rose+Croix. His use of the ratio gave his music an otherworldly symmetry." How interesting! I didn't know that.
