The Future is Always Dicey

I'm an optimist.
I have a reasonable fear of the future and a trust in the good part of life. I believe it's all fair.

When Pluto came to my Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius a few years ago it brought me a test of my philosophies and beliefs. He thrust me into several nests of pessimists in graduating degrees of severity, to see if my attitudes would survive. This is the nature of a Pluto transit A forging through the fires. It was a fascinating experience to say the least.

With Pluto in Sagittarius, this country has also been on a dicey route. I joined with. A new experience for me. I previously grappled with my own demons and those of a select few, not so much the collective fear, although I felt it. Now, as the end of this transit is approaching, I've made the decision to participate with my society on the road ahead.

My optimism survived intact. I can almost guarantee better times coming politically for this country. The Saturnian restrictions ahead are those needed and wanted.
But I'm on the sunny side, so keep your grains of salt handy.

In the end, the future remains a mystery .....oi

Let us all take note that, according to Dan Furst's Universal Festival Calendar, today, 12/8/06 is:

In the Khemitian calendar, Feast of Neith, double-aspected goddess of creation, symbolized in her role as patroness of weaving; and of war and hunting (Month of Tybi, day 23).

I wonder what goodies Neith has been cooking up for us? :o)

Gee, I guess I rate . . :-) Joe, I've said this before & I'll say it again...you are such a joy & delight!! Thanks!!

As to what I'm up to . . . the bath remodel demo just got bumped up to like this weekend!!!!! Uranus strikes again. So it's move, sort, throw out and just generally go a little crazy....

Plus my mom (another Uranus on IC event) up & moved herself into a nursing/rehab facility. It's a pretty decent place & she's got the window bed, so it's OK so far. jm, my mom's Libra Sun in conjunct her NN in Libra, so I see this as a case of reverting to the SN in Aries survival mode. We're hoping this stay will give her time to have her meds/diet monitored by health pros. She called & made all the arrangements by herself w/her doctor's help of course. I won't go into how I really feel about all this . . . now is one of those times to be supportive without being snarly. :-)

Also feel this to be an example of the Jupiterian magnifying effect . . . that irrational exuberance. My Aries is all over the place these days since all the planets in Sag are trining his stellium in Aries.

Joe that is fantastic! Thank you so much for this connection. Love all this Gemini!

She called & made all the arrangements by herself w/her doctor's help of course.

This is the clue neith. She's in charge of herself and the great thing is that she's saved you from the decision making and guilt. I respect her for this. A lesson for your North as you try and sort it out and see her position. Vey tough. Actually it might be her South in Libra that is finally accepting help. Possibly. See what happens. It might change the realtionship dynamics.

We're hoping this stay will give her time to have her meds/diet monitored by health pros.

I thought all along that it would be best to have others do the food thing.

Speaking of optimism...
So good to see you, donnie and astrid! A guaranteed boost to the spirits.

As patroness of war and weaving I see a connection with the recent turn of events. Maybe a chance to transmogrify the SN Aries into an observing of how the strands are woven into a beautiful end piece. Even strands you don't handle yourself.

I've found that mothers are deeply connected to our nodal placements. The Moon factor. The South seems to delineate what went wrong. You're right about survival lessons that aren't needed in this incarnation. But the Uranus is the awareness and separation, and the 4th is the mother figure. It's interesting that your Aries is off and about right now too as you have the 1st house transits and a visit to the dilemma. How much are you willing to part with the independence that you're now witnessing and find troubling? This can be turned into a lesson and opportunity.

Maybe this is paving the way for more attention to your Aries. If he's there!

8/12/06 2:11 PM

Also.....

With my SN in Scorpio in the 7th my mother and I tangled as I tried to find independence. I thought she didn't like me.

After she died I got the full revelation. In several events, including the visit of the crows, I realized how much she loved me and that the quarelling was her way of pushing me out to survive without her...NN in the 1st. My siblings were not handled the same way.

It's amazing what truth death brings. I couldn't have known this before or I wouldn't have separated as much and learned so well my survival skills. Little did I know that they'd all die and leave me to test them so well.

So I turned from resentment to admiring/loving my mother and realizing her wisdom. Mothers are complicated.

The swirling Big Guy Gasman is not known for intentional rationality, that's for sure! He's a wild one. And now Mars is with him. What a duo.
Zeus liked to party.

That's what I think this Pluto transit has been all about. Excess. Total lack of restraint. So the Capricorn years are the natural followup. The wheel is logical. In the midst of experience, people are afraid, don't know how far it will go, but in retrospect it comes together.

So now with the Jupiter irrationality, the people are finally free and wild enough to send Bush's numbers down and say, "Get the hell outta here". Watch what happens when the Capricorn energy comes in after the holidays.
It's a fascinating ride.
And I feel like I'm in good hands.

As I've mentioned before, this next year is going to be a dance largely between Jupiter in Sag and Uranus in Pisces, NN too.
Lots of pandemonium and wondering where on earth we're going. Is it good or bad? No one really knows.

The White House wannabes now, for example, are barking up all kinds of wrong trees. Our nominee should be a complete surprise.

This square is going to be hot and heavy all the way to the summer. The new Congress is really that....NEW. And god knows what's in store. The economic problems, though, are going to be the focus, giving an idea of what's ahead in the Cap years.

This is a brief time of freedom from the future which can be a joyous break. A good time to explore.

Yup. Crows.

I love crows.

My first major step in this affair was when I was in an ashram in India in 1967. After daily morning yoga and meditation, I would spend the afternoons in my little room by the Ganges (cold and clear upriver), learning the guitar and listening to the birds call and response. The crows were magnificent in their sheer strength and dominance. The watchmen of the air. I think they protect the others, and us. They don't show fear. Their voices were impossible for me not to get completely drawn into.

It's been that way ever since. I stop what I'm doing every time I hear them. Messages are delivered and I also feel safe.

They brought me a message from my mother, congregated in the back of the apartment by a church and playground. It was a glorious combination of children's song and the crows demanding cacophony.

There are lessons for me there about my own vocalization, and my timidity.

Crows are dominant and powerful. They circle around specific things which I'm still studying. They can also be a huge nuisance to the farmers, and I wonder what karma is involved there.

Impossible to ignore, crows are.

In terms of you and the crow, joe, maybe it's partly the protection of the weak that seems to be part of your nature along with the message factor. The caw is mightier than the bite, maybe, and wards off threats to those you are in charge of.

I also noticed that crows travel solo, in small groups, and also in large groups. Very versatile.

OMG, jm, those Nodes again!! That Full Moon in Gemini was a wild one for me! My mother & I have this powerful connection with her Sun/NN in Libra conjunct my Moon/Neptune (somewhat wide for Neptune but I always feel the Sun & Moon have a greater draw). Our relationship has been a mix of mother/daughter/sister ever since I was in High School. Of course, with Neptune involved, we have a psychic bond too. When I touch her I know she's ready to go . . . but we'll see. Uranus always has more surprises in his bag of tricks, and he has to go back over my IC in early February.

BTW . . . we now have SIX count 'em SIX planets in Sagittarius until late Sunday!! Breathe, neith, breathe!!!

ROFL!!!!!!!

This is so true.
They leave when we're ready. It's one of the hardest passages but we do it, and once it's done, we no longer have to fear it like we do all of our lives.
It's impossible to predict. But they're old and close to ready. Many rewards come too.

Granted, most never get over the grief entirely, but other surprises come as we continue our relationships with them in a new way. It's an awakening and an initiation.
I love my mother more now than I ever did. More understanding now that we can't get in the way of the bond.

My partner never made any big decisions. He left them to me. The only one was his death. He orchestrated that from his hospital bed like a person I'd never seen before. he made all the arrangements with Hospice and completely took charge of his death. An amazing experience for me. I knew then how good death is.

I found in retrospect that the clues were there for a long time in the deaths and that I had prepared slowly over time.

The initial adjustment threw off my balance for quite some time and all the emotions were extreme, but I knew it was the right time and that the losses would be an important step in my evolution.

One of the most amazing passages in our lives and we all experience it in a unique way.

I found my astrological knowledge to be the greatest gift of all through these times. I saw the logic and knew my path ahead. Saturn in Aries was in my 12th and on to the ASC. and first. No doubt about that. My partner died with the Moon conjunct Saturn in Aries that night.

I have been contemplating the interconnectness there. There has never been any doubt in my mind that she & i have spent many lifetimes together. And this one with that whole dance of the 1st/7th house axis plus the emphasis on Libra - we have been helping teach each other the lessons of true partnership our whole lives. Some thinking does link the nodes to the most karmic connections in the chart, but I think Saturn is involved too.

The South Node can be thought of as past lives or past lives within the present one.

I told you about my sister and her exact reverse nodes of mine to the degree. The patterns are in all families and manifest in a million ways including the illnesses they get. Some family members are meant to reverse the patterns, some to continue and perfect.

My father had North in Sagittarius. Before he died I spent 3 months alone with him and we got to know each other. His biggest complaint was how his siblings neglected him after my mother's death: South in Gemini.

He came from a family of atheists and agnostics,
but the very last thing he said to me before I left him forever, sitting in diner was...

"I think there is something out here".

North Node in sagittarius. It was a magic moment I'll never forget. He witnessed an incredible Sagittarius moment of mine in those three months. I'll tell you about it a little later.

That's why I think her death will be a liberation for you. It looks like you both tried to work out the partnership karma together, and probably did. Now you are ready to fulfill it.

The transits at the time of death will tell the story. If she dies during the Uranus transit that's more proof of liberation. My father died on an exact Uranus transit and my brother and sister had Pluto transits. Very different experience to this day.

Your mother is preparing beautifully and gracefully. Sometimes the death takes a long time but she knows exactly what she's doing. There's a lot to learn and absorb and this is giving you time.

This is such a great subject so I'll tell you a little more.

There have been a lot of deaths in my family by now but none have experienced them as I did. I have Jupiter in Sagittarius in the eigth house of death. Positive attitude. The pain and sadness for me are there but I'm glad for the relief of the dying.

You have an intercepted Cancer in the 8th, neith, so I do think it will be a sad experience and difficult to let go, but you're doing it now. The whole sign of Cancer in the 8th is interesting. Old patterns there too. Hidden family traumas or difficulties facing them, etc. There will be developments with all of you survivors around this and probably a newfound intimacy. A lot ahead. A lot of long held emotions released.

Because of my Jupiterian view of a long journey, when my man died he was two weeks in refrigeration before the cremation. Right before, I went to see him one more time and took his favorite suit and a preserved Jewish cookie he once made and loved. I put those in with him and sent him off!

I suffered and still do. I'll always feel the loss. But I celebrate the release. I think it must be ecstatic.

I had an entertaining, fantastical, dream during the week, when the Moon opposed natal Sun. It went like this:

Before dawn, the two boys slipped away from the other children. The young ones need protection, the taller boy thought. They made their way to a quiet room, where he drew statuettes from their hiding place and arranged them on a rectangle of old linen. He fingered one of them for a moment, a figurine made of mixed colors. He turned and saw a small opening that had not been visible a moment before. Into this they climbed, emerging into a long corridor formed by shimmering bands of white and red emanating from a distant source. The taller boy peered briefly at the convergence that flared large with blinding light, that poured endless streams of hot white and red. He thought he saw something resembling an elongated human form.
Afterwards, he could not explain all that happened. He remembered hastily formulating his request before the audience ended, and the smaller boy helpfully supplied some of the words. Then the being that silently burned replied,
It would have been better asked a quarter turn ago. The flow ebbs again, but something can still be shaped. Then it blazed hotter and they fell away from that place.

The next day, I read:

Tsunami-like blast wave rips across the Sun
A blast wave swept across the face of the Sun on Wednesday, rippling outward from the site of a large solar flare. Blast waves that spread all the way across the Sun like this one did are rare, especially when the Sun is in the quiet phase of its 11-year cycle, as it is right now.

Propagation Forecast Bulletin #51 de K7RA
The past couple of days have seen robust solar activity, with flares and strong solar wind. On Wednesday and Thursday, December 6 and 7, the planetary A index rose to 28, then 25. On December 5 a large X9 class solar flare emerged from the sun's eastern side, but it wasn't earth directed. This was from a large sunspot 930, which drove the sunspot number to 59 on the same day as the solar flare, the same level as five days earlier. Wednesday, December 6 saw a smaller X6 flare, and currently early Friday morning we are seeing a strong solar wind, with the interplanetary magnetic field pointing south, making us vulnerable. There is a chance of more flares, which might be bad news for the ARRL 10 Meter Contest this weekend.
Flare activity caused a 10.7 cm solar flux reading at Penticton, British Columbia to jump off the scale. The noon reading showed a solar flux of 573.4, and had to be adjusted downward to 103 for the day.

Russian Scientists Expect Powerful Solar Flares
Russia's geophysical forecast center said Wednesday it expects powerful solar flares, vast explosions in the sun's atmosphere around sunspots, to occur in the near future. Solar flares can expel billion-ton clouds of electrified gas or plasma into space at a speed of 1 million miles per hour. Eruptions from the sun can damage satellites and disrupt electrical and communications systems on Earth.
"An X9 solar flare was registered last Tuesday. Over 30 years of regular X-ray observations of the sun, only about 25 powerful flares have been registered, and they had never previously been observed in the solar minimum [the lowest point of the sun's 11-year activity cycle]. This is surprising, because normally such flares occur at the peak of the sun's activity," the center said.

The forecast is for a 40 percent chance of more major flares through this weekend. Colorful Northern lights may be evident in Alaska, Canada and the very northernmost United States.

Let's add this to the mix:

Stargazers will get a rare triple planetary treat this weekend with Jupiter, Mercury and Mars appearing to nestle together in the predawn skies. About 45 minutes before dawn on Sunday those three planets will be so close that the average person's thumb can obscure all three from view.

They will be almost as close together on Saturday and Monday, but Sunday they will be within one degree of each other in the sky. Three planets haven't been that close since 1925, said Miami Space Transit Planetarium director Jack Horkheimer.
And it won't happen again until 2053

Amd this is amusing:

"In ancient times, people thought the close groupings of planets had deep meaning," said Krupp. Now, he said, "it's absolutely something fun to look for."

Heheh.

Kadimiros, this sunspot report reminds me of an event that happened a few years ago when a comet approached the Sun on its trajectory. The comet began to break up due to the heat and extreme solar wind emanating from the Sun. Something appeared to snap out from the Sun and seemed to grab onto the comet. The SOHO telescope captured this event on video. I'll see if I can find it again. It was quite a show and seemed to have cosmic undertones, as if something had happened that changed everything.

Also, sunspot activity may well factor into our weather anomalies, I think...

I don't actually know if the solar flare makes sense to anyone else, but I thought it was nice the way the dream conveys a hopeful message.

The little dream story doesn't try to guarantee an outcome. Its message seems to be that forgotten or overlooked resources are still available to answer a real need, even at a time when they seem least available. It's important to pursue the lead that's offered.

Of course the sun has a consciousness. All objects, animate and supposedly inanimate are part of it. It's the same chemistry aligned in variations. The memory and all lie in each particle, I believe.

But the sun especially has a character. Anthropomorphizing has always made comlete sense to me, even if the images are off a bit.

Let's see. First, the color white suggests the Sun, Moon or Venus to me.

The alternating red and white streams could also be a representation of the solar wind and the corresponding ebb and flow of ether, chi or prana.

The white and red alternating streams could suggest a new orchestration of energies.

White can also be a symbol of peace, and red can be a symbol of passion, blood, and the cost of war.

Maybe something about ancient color symbolism. Let's look that up.

Okay, ancient Egypt, which had a lot of solar symbolism, had the red and white crowns of lower Egypt and upper Egypt. (The red crown has a connection with the Egyptian goddess of hunting, war and weaving, Nt, Nit or Neith -- who was also the primordial water out of which came the Sun. The boy in the dream asked for protectors, but he called them something odd that resembled the word for "weaver" but really meant something else.) Political reunification of Egypt yielded the double crown containing both colors. The red and white crowns were also associated with the eyes of solar deities (Horus and Re). The blue crown was sometimes called the war crown.

The United States flag has white and red stripes that wave in the wind. The Wikipedia article says that the flag colors did not have specific meaning at first, but when used on the Great Seal they were defined: "White signifies Purity and Innocence; Red, Hardiness and Valor; Blue signifies Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice."

My feeling is that the red in the dream context is intended to have a protective, survival quality, and also a positive-giving, assertive quality. Interleaved with the white, could be alignment with purity of core intent.

I think the statuettes or idol-like figures are memories, old wisdom, heirlooms or heritage. They are reminders, opening doors to forgotten possibilities. Something powerful from the past being brought into the present because there is a perceived need. The connection of the invokers with youth is interesting.

Think you're on to something here. This was all going on when the war truth was revealed.

So much of ancient Egypt has survived into this present day, but apart from circlets and kerchiefs, no real ancient Egyptian crowns have survived

That's interesting.

Royal regalia, and in particular crowns, often link their wearer with the superhuman sphere, and the height of Egyptian crowns itself points toward the heavenly or divine.

This I think is what we are facing now with Saturn in Leo, Pluto in Sagittarius. Divinity and leadership. We imbue them with superhuman power then topple them with our inevitable disappointment. I think we expect them to be go-betweens with the heavens, but what man is truly divine? So we always find out. Thus all the regalia. When we diminish the fear of the heavens we will have more human leadership and more realistic expectations.

The United States flag has white and red stripes

Getting closer. Common knowledge that Egyptian mythology was used in our symbols. This is fascinating.

The red crown has a connection with the Egyptian goddess of hunting, war and weaving, Nt, Nit or Neith -- who was also the primordial water out of which came the Sun.

Interesting about our own present day neith and her dispensing of wisdom here, and yesterday was her celebration.

Maybe the statuettes are another form of human. Maybe an idealized one with the stillness revealing potential. The leaving of the crowd for these other forms. They were hidden and all colors. More potential.

Wonderful ideas. And hopefully prophetic. I do sense a change in the warfare dilemma.. Maybe turning the red blood of violence into the valor of the protection you mentioned. Protection against our own destructive impulses. And the turning to the white of peace. Even purification through the recent rituals. Something about the war, which I think is now on the path to resolution. How consciously we come to this is still within our control.

One article by a renown Egyptologist states that the Egyptian war goddess was called "eldest" (the first deity), and "Opener of the Ways" (for leadership in hunt, war, and as psychopomp in divine realms) and also "Opener of the Sun's paths in all her stations" which "refers to how the sun is reborn (due to seasonal changes) at various points in the sky, beyond this world, of which only a glimpse is revealed prior to dawn and after sunset."

She was believed to have a protective function, too...so maybe there was some synchronicitous allusion being made in the dream narrative. Who knows!

Very interesting aricle Kadimiros. This is good. Sheds light on things.

I think the protector is a large part of the situation. The creator/protector would explain the androgynous characteristic. She looks that way.

This info on the Sun ties in very nicely with what I went diving for last night. I had to go hibernate to think it over. Back in a bit to share what I found.

Doesn't it just? Kinda neat to see that people are tuning in at the same time to something emerging!
