Cheap and Sweet

No, I'm not referring to myself. I'm on the salty side.
I'm referring to that wonderful $1 pineapple I just purchased. I'm about to cut it open and would like to share it with you all. Looks good. Very juicy. A friend of mine recommended this fruit for PH balance in the body. I'm all for that.
If you need something even sweeter during these darkening days, there are some heavenly angel dusted cupcakes as well.
There IS some sinful chocolate in the center but confession will be held shortly and I'm sure you'll get by on this one. Well, it looks like a lively week ahead.

You are too sweet!!! Enjoy it. I am just sitting here freaking out today because I have not checked the website for my local paper here lately and when I did today, I found out that a serial killer that has killed over 20 people was arrested right here in my hometown!!

I of course had to post on it. Freaky! And get this, one of the articals talks about a store that he used to take his mother to for grocery shopping. It's the same store I do my grocery shopping at! And he lived not far away from here!

That's unsettling donnie. But he has to be caught somewhere! Glad he was.

This brings to mind the The Teachings of Don Juan

There is one rule I love of his. That every millimeter is a different spot and the warrior must recognize the dangerous ones and move accordingly. They can become dangerous at any time. And safe spots are always accompanying them.

So safety depends not on running away, but shiftly slightly as need dictates and recognizing all the elments, since safety and danger exist almost in the same place.

I think we carry our protection inside of us everywhere we go. We meet danger only if we desire it.

I also believe that criminals and victims find each other and have a contract and karma. There are so many things involved we don't know about. It's really not random.

One of the most fascinating books I read was The Driver's Seat by Muriel Spark.

The main character decided she wanted to commit suicide so she advertised in the paper for a killer. She directed hin in detail as to how she wanted her murder accomplished. He did it exactly according to her specs.
This is such a great study in our own mastery of our destinies which I believe is happening to everyone, albeit not at all consciously.

There is no reason to fear crime close to onesself. It's universes away, really.

I feel like going out on a limb and expressing my true feelings about war, death, Iraq, violence, the karma behind people's destiny of violent death, why others are implicated in some people's deaths and not in others peoples'.

But it's far out and I'll wait to see what you all have to say.

I think what unsettled me the most about it was that right across the hwy. from the mentioned store, is a convenience store that has a deli that makes lunches and stuff. I went there several days ago to get some meat pies for lunch instead of cooking. When I came out the store and made it to the car, I stopped cold and sprung up while crouching down to get into the car.

I got a feeling like I have not had in a very long time! A cold shiver ran down my back and I knew something or someone that was pure evil was near! I waited for several minutes keeping a lookout for what was causing it. Eventually it started to fade and my heartbeat returned to normal. I felt combat coming on! That is the only way I can describe what I felt. Every one of my senses were on high alert. I could actually feel whatever it was try to probe me and knew it felt me there.

That verifies. You are safe with your otherworldly instincts.

And that's exactly what Don Juan was saying. Recognize and react immediately.

Serial killers are not that common. The news makes a big sensation. What's even more dangerous are the domestic situations and impulses in everyone that get loose in some unpredictably.

Evil is ALWAYS everywhere. It won't get a person unless there's a reason.

I think one of the greatest lessons is learning to live safely side by side with evil forces. They will not disappear.

This was one of the concerns I had about this government and placing all evil there. When Bush is gone the evil will remain. It comes and goes in different individuals. So people can avoid the streak in themselves by putting too much of it into leaders.

Granted these people are evil. But what I saw on the blogs was evil as well. People hurting people gratuitously. Saying horrifying things in general. It just wasn't recognized. Maybe making it even more of a problem.

One of the biggest concerns I've had is people injecting their horror into others' minds without thinking. The impulse to do this is not good. Fears are personal and I know people want relief, but stabbing other people's minds is just plain bad. A real warning based on fact is another matter altogether.

I'm waiting for the day when people will take responsibility for themselves, and this in turn will lead to genuine care for others. What we say is important. And if we want others to share our imagined fear, we should be aware of the pitfalls.

That's exactly what is happening on some astro blogs I will not name . . . It's why I totally despise the whole insurance industry because it preys on & encourages imaginary fears.

Conversely every time we reach out with genuine caring and enjoyment, the universe smiles . . . :-)

Very interesting story Donnie. Ted Bundy escaped from the jail in my home town, and was running around in the woods a while before he was caught. At the time it all seemed quite funny to me -- perhaps I knew on some level he was not a threat.
jm I loved your quote from Don Juan and your commentary

I keep thinking about premonitions -- or however you might name that sense of danger or in some cases pleasure -- I'm still not particularly good at paying attention to my own senses in these cases. Sometimes afterwards too I have the idea that I had a premonition, but I wonder if its only a retroactive attempt to arrive at the possibility that I had some control (is this at all comprehensible?)

Well -- I'm going to try to watch the millimeters...

You and me both. I have no insurance. Just the basic requirement for my car. I'm ignoring the aforementioned sites. The repetition is beyond my palate. I don't think I have a calculator to count the numer of times "dark" has been said. There happens to be an equal amount of light if one cares to look. Plus, I don't spend my time looking constantly up the crevices of people I don't like, at the same thing, once I get it. Too many interesting things to focus on.

Premonitions are tricky. Sometimes they reflect a real situation but often they don't. It's another fear finding a hook. Even if they're accurate we often can't escape the situation. It will come back if we need the encounter.

We have to go on trust. And we do in fact automatically. Danger comes to everyone and there really is no escape. We all have the sense to survive and survive quite well.

So if something bad happens, there is a reason and often a positive outcome.

Serial killers are very very unlikely to get you. The victim will get involved for some destiny reason.

We are really quite safe overall. Look at your daily life. We get sick. We have accidents. We have near disasters and even some real ones. The house burns down. The plumbimg blows. Our parents die. We get fired. We get rejected. We lose money. Or we fail our driver's test 9 times as my mother did.

Yet we survive it all. We thrive actually.

There is an inner mechanism that works for everyone. It's astounding.
Fear is a natural part of it as we learn to cope with it, conquer it, use it, etc. Serves a great purpose.

In Journey to Ixtlan
Don Juan would be sitting with Carlos in the desert and suddenly he would jump up and yell, "get out of here!" They would move to another spot.
Poor Carlos didn't get much rest but he was being initiated.

We have a natural inner compass that guides us correctly. I'm sure of this. We get confused with the group and others and this can cause unfound fears. The collective has a tendency to focus on the negative and it gets magnified. Ss I feel like I have to remember my individual destiny that is in not in anyone else's control. I know this is so.

I think we often worry too much and could relax into life a little more. We don't want out of it, so we should get with it. Most people get safely to their deaths.:-)

BTW,juju. Saturn in Scorpio has great instincts for trouble. The Saturn gets in the way of the trust but it will come more and more.

The thing about trying to make others afraid too is the disconnect.
Be afraid. Very afraid they say. What kind of suggstion is that?

When people honestly care for others, the instinct is to allay fears. To protect and comfort unless the danger is real and action is required.

When the group goes on and on in trepidation everything goes out of wack, and the fear, of course, doesn't diminish at all. That's OK but to say that they are full of compassion and spiritual love I think is probably incorrect.

The other day I was in a minor car accident; at a stop light someone very suddenly, went into reverse and slammed into my car. I got some whiplash, my head feels very weird, and I have to get some physical therapy and so on, but think I'll eventually be in good shape again. I remember before it happened I was in an extremely good mood, and in that mood was remembering a time when I'd been in a great mood and out of the blue a cop pulled me over and slapped me with a huge fine and a bunch of points. I had been driving what I thought was the normal speed, but I was unknowingly in a school zone. So I think there was already this idea in my head -- happiness cometh before a fall -- and sure enough. Perhaps if I hadn't bought into that thinking? Or perhaps the blow has shaken my brain into some better pattern, though I must say I'm feeling a little stupid in general -- words aren't behaving as they should.

I think happiness does come before a fall although usually not that fast. It's up and down all the time. I think you might be right about breaking the pattern. The hocus pocus. Other wise when you're in a happy mood, you'll automatically get fearful.

If you look back I'm sure most good moods weren't followed by a major mishap.

A lot of it could be your Mars(planet of aggression and action) in Pisces(fantasy, paranoia). Pisces is notorious for all kinds of mishaps that seem illogical. Can make one feel victimized. Can't get anywhere.

It could be that someone in your life is pushing you back represented by the car backing up into you. Car accidents are associated with authority issues. It's not happiness itself, although there could be a fear that you aren't allowed to be fully happy (Moon in capricorn).
Maybe some authority figure dealt out the guilt in your life.

Mars in Pisces is tough and transits are going on with it now. With this, direct action often elludes and the path gets convoluted, things always pushing you around so you have to reroute. I have this one. Round and round it goes. Takes a long time to get anywhere, if I even do.

In the end this makes for a great agility, almost a dancer's movement through life. And it's connected with your Mercury and writing. Fantasy will win this one. The material world can butt up against you though.

Fear is a reaction, whereas premonition is a perception. Real premonition is a survival-oriented trait. It can have a constructive aspect in teaching people to listen to their higher intuition and inner guidance.

Some people habitually have inflated fears, because it is already difficult for them to discern what is real. Probably they should pay more attention to the present moment and avoid dabbling in predictive methods and psychical work. These things can become distorted, in which case they will not allay fear but serve as a screen for its projection.

If their minds are in turmoil for little cause and less gain, then maybe they need the grounding experience of earthly life. ;-)

So the fear is a real response to an imagined event. Can be very problematic.

I think we all have real premonitions all the time but aren't aware of them as they help us negotiate. Best to leave them in their natural state.

Very wise. The present is pretty accurate. If they look at it, it should help the fear factor. The whole idea of trying to project and control the future is guaranteed to raise fear levels. Lack of trust.

I would think there would be a distinction. Real premonition shoudn't arouse fear. The fear is probably the clue that it won't come to pass.

That is the most polite way I've heard of saying "GET A LIFE!!!" LOL!!!

Far too many people want a "reading" of some kind telling them what would be coming . . . and would you believe that 99% don't hear anything said to them?! jeeezz! :-)

JM,

I put this up at Neith's place too. I though you might like to see this. I hope you are of good cheer this morn my blooger babe!

I got a little time and went find a link about the types of Animal Totems

Also, the discussion here was very enlightening. I hope I did not come off as negative with the story. I was in no way afraid. I just wondered how could someone exist in such a hateful state of mind. What kind of monster could murder that many people? It just hurt my spirit that someone could be so evil.

It's impossible to imagine. I can't even begin. Fear is all right. It's always here. Best to relate to it. I talk to mine.
