Enter Mars in Sagittarius

I'm a travelin man, made a lot of stops
All over this world
And in every port, I own the heart
Of at least one lovely girl.

I've a pretty Senorita, waiting for me
Down in old Mexico
And if you're ever in Alaska, stop by and see
My cute little Eskimo.

Pretty Polynesian baby, over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you warm and tight.

I'm a travelin man
Ooh yes, I'm a travelin man
Ooooh, I'm travelin man.......
ooowweeeoooowahoooooweeeee

Illustration from Mary Engelbreit's Mother Goose. Travelin' Man by Ricky Nelson 1950's.

ah yes, good ol Sag. I get frequent reports from my Sag co-worker (b-day 12/7), who's planning a big swingin time, takin the day off on Friday. He'll probably pull it off, too, with Moon in Leo along with all the Sag in the sky.
Moonman me, I'll be stickin fairly close to the family.

Wasn't that a song Ricky Nelson sang back in the day?! :-) I remember liking it a lot . . . boy, does that date me!!! :-)

heh, -pd-, ya gotta love those Sags. Remember Mars is very cosy with Jupiter right now, so that yabba dabba doo energy is really flying! With both of 'em in my first, I've been waking up before the alarm goes . . . unheard of for me in the dark of Winter. However, I'm with you on sticking to home.

Astrid, what a full and beautiful comment. You certainly do know how to express your appreciation. Likewise, thanks for the lift in my day.

LOL, pd. With a Cancer Sun in the 4th I stay home a lot too.

Remember Mars is very cosy with Jupiter right now, so that yabba dabba doo energy is really flying!

Excellent choice of words!

However, I'm with you on sticking to home.

So some of us will be hanging around quietly staying out of trouble!

Yes, neith. I forgot to credit Ricky. Will do. As hard as it is to be carbon dated:-)

Neith! I thought you might be out to lunch!

Speaking of dating, I just read that the Neanderthal Men were cannibals. We've evolved after all.
I'm a vegetarian anyway and a Neanderthal doesn't sound too appealing. Maybe a cro-Magnon.

And here's another tidbit as Mars and the others rip through Sagittarius and the Religious Right:

Mary Cheney, Dick's lesbian daughter, is pregnant and living with her woman.

When it rains, it rains. Grab those bibles.

I've been waking very early too. I woke up this morning before dawn, as I have been doing for a week or so. The full moon was so bright it was casting intensely black shadows on the dense frost. Our driveway was a bright silver, curving to the road. It was so quiet, cold and bright. I got the logs going in the wood stove, a hot cup of coffee and felt really peaceful.

........

Mary Cheney is different you know. She's in another world of the neocons. Whole different set of rules in their personal lives.

That's gorgeous astrid. Are you an artist?
Sometimes I think artists with their extra sensory perception are almost pained by the intensity. For good reason. There is a magnetic draw into light, color, sound, etc., and a need to translate.

When I am at my best, I cease to obsess about personal dilemmas and get completely absorbed in shapes, sounds, etc, almost separate from their context. I love these moments.

Mary IS different, yet she works for her father's machine. Cheney's wife wrote a lesbian novel. It's just interesting to see how the fundamentalists deal with these realities in their icons. I guess they just turn a blind eye.

A "married" lesbian with a bulging womb is quite a picture at this time. Hard for the flock to be blind to.
Also interesting after the hysteria surrounding Kerry's comment about Mary in the debates.

Nothing like a good dose of Sagittarius to wipe gloom and doom off the map. Now maybe they'll understand my dreaded optimism:-). At least for a nanosecond.

Ha, Ha, Ha!!! "dreaded optimism" . . . and here it's one of things I most like about you! Gotta have some leavening in the mix since there are always more naysayers than yaysayers . . .

Why in the hell is that?

This is one of the things I'm violently attacked for. Can you believe it? Then when I express my malaise (I have it believe or not!), I get slammed for that.

So actually that leaves me free. I can swing any way at all. On all the stars I want to!

The way I see it and it's always been, is that the future has good and bad events in it. Just like my past. But I've gotten throught all of it in one piece. Why not the rest?

Of course, death is fearsome, but I have Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 8th, so it's a positive for me. I'm not enthused about sickness and suffering but that's a fact of life from the getgo. I'm always in pain. I did avoid the mumps. thankfully!

jm, painting and drawing primarily. I also do stained glass, and I'm addicted to knitting. I'm just learning spinning, and I'm VERY excited about it. I have a thing about being self sufficient, so over the years, I've done my share of building and woodworking as well. Most years I've had as many gardents as I could manage, so growing things is a wonderous experience for me too.

Whew! If I live to be very old, I wonder how many other pleasures I'll try to learn.

I didn't . . . was the first kid out of four to bring all those childhood illnesses home to the rest. Actually was very ill from a secondary infection that followed having the mumps. hmmmm, childhood was the time when I was sick a lot, right up to when I had the remains of my tonsils removed at 20. All up hill from there! Those pesky teeth bothering you still, jm?! Low grade tooth related infections can really pull the whole system down as I found out about 4 years ago - the hard way. Got it pulled and was fine in short order.

This to me is the mark of the real artist. So many endeavors. The desire to use all parts of the self and those uknown in self expression. A need to feel the completely different sensations of many media. Always discovery.

My favorite movie, Woman in the Dunes, was made by a filmmaker who, after great success with this one, didn't make another one for 20 years. He became a potter among other things. This has been a source of inspiration for me as I attempt to use all of my senses in my translation of life's experience, sometimes with the scarifice of total mastery of one art form.

I love stained glass. Woodworking too. I have a romaticized vision of people who work with wood...carpenters, instrument makers...all of them.

Ouch!

I've got one troubletooth left to deal with, but I'm taking my time. This should do it. I always lose them on major Saturn transits. So this last retro will get to the root of it! And then bye-bye pearly white! It's got a crown so it's not turning brown/yellow like old piano keys.

I had my tonsils out when I was a child and it's an experience I'll never forget. My only surgery.

The most vivid recollection was the ether. To this day I recall the dream exactly. I was spinning round and round in a vortex. not goin down, just around, with a ding ding sound similar to one of the game shows at the time. Very unpleasant. I think it was disturbing to the equilibrium.

Mine too. And a pretty unpleasant experience it was . . . they had to take me back into surgery to get the bleeding to stop. Yuk! I'll leave it at that . . .

Hey the sun's shining here for a change!! Bright snow/light so wonderful!! :-)

I get 300+ sunny days a year. I'm addicted.

I grew up in what my 8th grade science teacher claimed was the one of the three worst climates in the country. A perpetual haze covered my hometown.
Factories added their own belching element, but the people were nice. Honest downhome types.

The people here are unpretentious too. Add the sunshine and they do all right.
I can't imagine living in a place I don't love, although I know sometimes it's necessary.

OMG, astrid! Thank you so much! That is a great discussion of the film and I just revisited the joy.

The picture on top is one of the most erotic scenes I've ever witnessed and it's beyond sexual. It's so beautiful. The longing and pure ecstasy of the body's sensual pleasure. Humility too. The infinite grandness of the smallest things in life are explored. It's wonderful.

The film is one of the best treatments of existentialism I've experienced. I like the philosophy. It has a joyous ending in a subtle way as the character incarnates completely into the present and accepts his situation. Finds a world of interest in the desert nothingness.

I agree with you about the Japanese films. I've been studying them lately. There is a sparseness and a slow pace that please me. Often a philosophical theme.

Thank you, again.

BTW, Uranus is involved with the Net. And it seems that Neptune is a main character too.

The last time Neptune was in Aquarius, the telegraph was invented. 1834-1848.

This is the new level. The typing out of ideas and the transmission through the ethers. This is an exciting time. The mutual reception with Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius is adding to the new dimension we are dveloping in communication. And we are all involved on the ground floor (Saturn is involved now as well).

As I've said many times, I think the collective is developing new neural pathways through this medium. There is a very profound thing with the hand, the eye, and the mind. It's happening on an unusally broad scale now and is counteracting the political attempts to keep us stuck.

When Pluto gets into the final quadrant in Capricorn, joining these guys, it will be fascinating. And then Uranus will forge ahead into Aries. Exciting times, definitely.

Very funny pd!

When the question came up about gay marriage in the debates, Kerry said that Mary Cheney is a lesbian. The media went nuts of course and they did the ususal Kerry thing when he tells the truth.

My take on it was that it was a milestone. The first time the L word was mentioned in such high places. A presidential debate, for godsakes. It's not like "gay". Lesbian has such a powerful impact and just saying it with such ease was astounding to me.

Anyhoo, this is interesting and of course, the righties are fashionably insanely upset.

Maybe you should write for TV. They could use some talent.:-)

I just got back from work and I had my usual time to do some thinking. I kept thinking about the Robin and what it could mean. I finally had to just stop and think about what first comes to my mind when I think of a Robin. The answer to that was that down here, Robins are a sign of the season change. When we see the Robins come in, it has turned cold. That is what first comes to my mind. A change of season! I don't know what that would have to do with Neith, but maybe it will help.
