Time to Relax

The Mars in Aries kick-off was wild! I know I could use a few calm moments in these last days of Taurus before the mad Gemini chatter begins.
I'm going to straighten up around here, believe it or not, and watch some episodes of the wonderful children's series, Road to Avonlea. There's a charming, feisty character named Sarah in the story, who seems altogether Marsian to me. Brave, bold, and honest, even if she does get in and out of trouble as a rule. She protects all the cousins. And has an adorable set of teeth.
I'm banking on all my friends, and even my adversaries, having a good week-end, full of activity, free of harm. The tea will be simmering whenever you drop by.

O that Aries!

jm, every transiting planet increases the activity or influence of the sign that it's passing thru, in its own way, correct? So Mars is now activating Aries, which he also rules. But Mars is also activating my 11th house, right? Or is the house not that much affected compared to the sign? Thank you! :o)

Joe, amazing. I was going to leave a comment exactly on this subject since the week was so obviously influenced by this.

Yes indeed. The house is activated a great deal. Mars makes such an impact and everyone can check and see what happened in retrospect.

You tell me. The 11th is friends and society, wishes, ideals, and collective concerns. Egg societies for example:o).

Taurus doesn't like Aries, and Mars came through upsetting the status quo. Mars has a way of making a strong entrance and making people push extra hard. Now it will calm down. The Sun in Gemini is more compatible with this energy. There will be much conversation, maybe some arguments, being Mars. Watch the activity round the blogs.

Following Mars is a good way to learn astrology. 6 weeks in a sign. It's an opportunity to face issues, confront yourself and others, get things done, and kick things off in each house as it goes.

This was especially potent because of all the stuff going on in Pisces. We're not ready to fully forge ahead under these circumstances, but we can do a little.

I'm interested in your experience.

I think Mars is an especially important planet as the daily activist for the Sun. All the planets have their jobs and Mars is one of the busiest. Back to that initial life force factor. He loves thrust and loves to cause a ruckus when he changes signs, especially in his own sign.

It's a good thing to contemplate.

Yes. And it's also orchestrated as a whole in each chart. Same planets and signs, different themes. So watching your own stuff is the best.

There are a lot of different opinions about transiting planets changing signs and houses. It interests me because of my fascination with the 29th degree. Some think the change is gradual, as I do with the slow ones, but still I think there might be a crisis of some sort in the actual crossing. The changes are vast from sign to sign.

I just thought of something. Perhaps success in the sign/house being exited influences the ease of passage. Something to think about more.

Well, I have been feeling a little more inclined to get things in motio with some of the things I'm involved in. On the other hand, I'm bothered by a lot of ear and nose problems for the last few months, and went to see a specialist in ear nose and throat the other day. I will have to have more testing to find out what's wrong. I guess this is where Chiron comes in? :o/

at the same time, i love them so much for their get up and go!
it's good to have astrology to sort me out.

I'll be closing out this month working on a conference, so Gemini will be appropriate. In fact, I'm preparing this weekend. Hope everyone is having a good one!

Joe. I'm going to take a look at the ear thing and give it some thought. If it's sinuses, that's associated with relationships. What are the symptoms?

I'm deeply involved in the metaphysical causation of sickness. As much as astrology. I just tackled a 30 year problem and it's a big event.

This is how it works partly. We're born with strengths and weaknesses, and the hurts which start immediately go to the cells of the body for storage since we can't react overtly to most of it, and less as time goes on. If we cried every time it hurt, that's all we'd be doing! It's more acceptable to be angry, so that's where some of it goes. Unfortunately anger releases unhealthy hormones, adding to sickness.
So we stuff the emotions in the body, moreso in some places. The weak parts eventually react to the repeated assault, come to the surface, and illness results.

But since the weak parts do this, they are calling attention to our issues and navigating us to the resolution. By the time the diseases arrive it's been a long process of sublimation. The real complete cure also takes a lot of time. Sometimes many many years.

Allopathic medicine is a killer in this respect. It stops the knowledge, and the thing will resurface. That's why cancer keeps coming back.

So our society with its breast cancer for example refuses to connect the epidemic to the plastic surgery and the worship of Hollywood stars, who use the breast as a means of getting attention, power, and money instead of the nourishing and comforting job it was designed for. It's become a weapon. Entirely anti-feminist.
They think its additives, mammograms, etc., but the real cause is behavioral patterns that are common to the whole society. So everytime we worship one of these women we are adding to the perpetuation of the problem. Everytime we give them any attention at all, especially the repeated image of the fake breasts spilling out and taunting. It's hideous to teach our girls to worship women who mutilate their breasts with knives and stuff them. A far cry from the harmless wadded tissue paper they initially use. The cancer will keep returning until this is solved.

The body is a miraculous machine. Not only does it work to keep us alive it also holds all the knowledge of our species, as well as our personal history, in case we want to learn something.

I'll look at your chart, joe. Make it simple.:o)

Apparently it's a common thing, but my sinuses become congested when I lie down-- every time. I made some changes like adding a pillow and it seems to help somewhat.

The ear infection is middle ear fluid, and since i have hearing problems anyway, it's the last thing I need. Then there's the vertigo/dizziness which the specialist is trying to figure out the cause of, but I'm sure is related to the ear infection. Thing is, I had this vertigo thing when I was 19 (exactly 15 years ago), also with an ear infection in the same ear, and I'm wondering at the timing of it.

That's why I wondered if my Chiron in Aries is behind this somehow. I hope the specialist can help me b/c I'm at my wits' end.

It was most definitely 1992. i remember well because my grandmother was in the last stages of terminal illness. I was home alone for a few weeks as my parents were away visiting her and making estate arrangements. So I dealt with this vertigo stuff all by myself.

I am anxious to find out what pattern(s) you're seeing! My intuition kept nagging me about this... it's recurring for a reason, hellish as it's been. I wanted to ask before but I couldn't find the right way to express it.

OK. This is great information.

First of all, I have these problems sometimes as well. Fear exacerbates the vertigo. The most important thing now is to try to stay calm, endure the symptoms for the moment so that when you work with your doc, you'll have some understanding to help the healing, which could be for good this time.

In 1992 (this is something), Uranus and Neptune were in Capricorn EXACTLY conjunct your NN. This is very very good. It squared your Uranus in Libra.
The first thing I thought was family issues, and then you posted this. Money, investments could be involved since it's 2nd/8th houses.

I've found that vertigo sometimes acts up when dependencies are breaking and I'm suddenly on my own, finding new balance. The Uranus involvement indicates liberation and independence. It's interesting that you had the symptoms when you were left on your own.

Saturn was around the square to your Sun at 22, and now Neptune is there. 10th house. Parental issues. Achievement. Square the Sun in the 6th house of work.

Overall I think this could be part of the preparation for the life altering Pluto to your Capricorn stellium, coming soon.

What's are your instincts saying?

Also, the Sun and Saturn are connecting the Gemini and the 3rd house, so it probably includes issues about speaking up.

My theory is that the whole sinus mechanism is connected to old childhood hurts. Hearing and smell are especially memory producing. Tears are manufactured in this area, so backed up tears are involved in sinus problems. Colds too.

Hmm. For the longest time, I preferred to manage my health problems without outside help. And as a Saturn 1st house, I had a lot of them. I don't like having to depend on others' generosity. If they didn't need to know, I kept this stuff private. I don't even tell my extended family anything about my life unless I am asked directly. (I think that's a reaction to their poor boundaries-- they're all too involved with one another's business).

This time, b/c this situation affects everything, I have had to share it: my SO, my friends, my parents, my boss, and my co-workers. In fact, I just had a conversation about opening up to others, while updating my mother on the last dr visit.

So I have no choice but to be more open about my struggles. I don't know if this is a remnant SN issue or if I'm developing the NN skills, as you said.

While incapacitated one afternoon last week, it occurred to me that I am dealing with my deepest, darkest fear. I am being forced to face it. Maybe that's why it's taking so long to resolve. I just want it done.

Interestingly, being such a go-it-alone type, I'm nervous about being alone next week when my SO has to go out of town. It feels just like a dependency, which was a word you used. is it? i dunno.
OMG, parental issues... this is for to laugh! The doctor assumed that my SO was my father and referred to him as such in the treatment notes.

Any thoughts, wise one? :o)

Sometimes handling it yourself is in reality not hiding it. The more independent you get, he more you can share who you are, not for help or sympathy, but to complete the picture.

I think that's a reaction to their poor boundaries-- they're all too involved with one another's business).

I think this is the crux of it. Capricorn is all about boundary, and probably up until now, you haven't felt safe with your own. But now they're partially constructed and will be built in earnest as Pluto progresss.

The SN in Cancer is learning not to merge emotionally with everything and everyone. Sharing hurts is good but sometimes you just want support without a whole lot of intervention.

It's all in the balance, which is what the vertigo is about. Not shunning the meddling but controlling it from within yourself. Hearing problems are trying to shut out things you don't want to hear.

20 Questions is great! I wonder if going without the hearing aid more often would be good. Or maybe shutting some of it out would be a profound relief.

While incapacitated one afternoon last week, it occurred to me that I am dealing with my deepest, darkest fear. I am being forced to face it. Maybe that's why it's taking so long to resolve. I just want it done.

Perfectly stated. I share this feeling completely. 30 years on my latest issue!

Yup. It looks like we're birds of a feather.

I've done that to a large extent and it's helped tremendously. It's better than finding the chair in the grocery store by the pharmacy when the dizziness hits.

Tuning out the world is not encouraged. Mothers worry for our survival. But for some of us, it's part of our survival.

You can start immediately with the Saturn thing. That's why you came here. You already have started, actually. You'll get immediate results as you go.

This rings true. I am by nature cautious about revealing too much about myself when I meet new people, or even developing my relationship with known persons. I think I did right by making a small announcement at work thanking everyone for covering for me during my absence and explaining what had happened. I think that was more reassuring to the others than my previous tendency to keep the wall up.

Again, so very interesting. My Capricorn brother (who has his Saturn in Virgo on my moon) is deaf.

Recently, treating his current decline -the crisis with his cerebral palsy- which i believe in his case was akin to a Vagus nerve stroke, his hearing improved. It began with "music" in his head. Then simple things, the phone ringing, the dog at the door were heard. His speech definitely improved.

My brother has his Saturn return coming up. Somewhat with this in mind, i have been using very deep acting remedies which reach back to the original apnea just after his birth. Also worth noting is that his Taurus asc has been the midpoint of the Saturn/neptune opp.
Lotsa a strain on the system and not wanting to face the reality of the situation pretty well describes it.

What happens?
You mean describe the condition? or it's progression?

ummm
CP happens either just prior, at, or just after birth. No one really has a good explanation but something occurs which causes one part of the brain to malfunction. Sometimes, as i the case of my brother the "cause" seems apparent, he was born normal but early, still in good birth weight tho at over 6 pounds. He was in an incubator and it malfunctioned, he had an apnea, was resuscitated but the damage is irreversible.

There is no real pattern, all cases are quite individual tho all suffer from spasticity. This is the defining symptom of the condition. Impairment ranges from mild, as in my brother, who when he was young could with assistance and training learn how to ride a bike, ski, etc.
to quadriplegic with only use of breath for example to propel a wheelchair. (visualize Stephen Hawking and you get a pretty good picture)

Progression. Medicine says that the condition does not progress. Caregivers, family and individuals with CP would disagree. There is often a crisis which precedes rapid decline.

At 58 my brother is known as the "old man". Mortality is usually in the 40s often younger.

Homeopathy helped him trough two other crises in about 1986 and 199?
This time we are in new territory.

19/5/07 9:52 PM
Blogger jm said...

So it affects the brain-muscle connection. That's why I was curious in terms of the 1st house and Venus. Mercury would be the connector and Uranus could be the aberration. I will look.

It will take a minute, but we probably could see the pattern with the other crises and why this is different. And what this means to you.

I will go into this more, but the 12th house part of the Saturn return is just coming up for you. My 12th house phase in Cancer was much harder than the actual return.

This is very interesting, since it's crossing the Moon-Saturn in Virgo of you two, his return in effect. Methinks a big lesson is afoot. The sick heal the healers and vice versa.

I ca already tell you that your intuition is absolutely correct. One year ago, and i remember this because the "dream" was on my other brother's birthday, i saw my friend and my brother both is good health with no obvious problems leaving --dying. She passed on last October.

So mostly this is not a surprise. Finding the correct balance to walk this path is the challenge, my life has already become nothing similar to what it was a few months ago. I suspect Saturn moving will help. And perhaps Saturn in Virgo will bring clarity.

19/5/07 10:12 PM
Blogger jm said...

Jeeze, there's that 29th degree.

the Cancer intercept in the 3rd sibling house is significant.

And this pops out. The 0 degree 12th house NN. The crippling and the spiritual exchange for this sacrifice. The beginning again probably of an ancient family pattern of sacrifice and illness or other problems. And ending since the node goes backwards.

Your nodes are 2. big connection here. Sacrifice is the word I get. The meaning of it all. The spiritual riches that require something specific.

What I can't figure out is who's leading whom, since 2 is ahead numerically, but behind by motion.

There is so much here. It would be good to do work on an extended basis to see the reason for the crisis now.

I am entirely fascinated by this. The stelliun with a 29 Cap in the 10th and all that achievemnet potential. Such an unusual situation as he keeps living, enduring (Taurus doesn't hurt), and achieving. but what exactly?

Will look into current crisis momentarily. God, there is so much.

The saturn in Virgo will be vast and hugely effective. The balance will come when it returns in Libra.

I am very very interested in this. We should really dig in. We have time.

my life has already become nothing similar to what it was a few months ago.

You just descibed a Pluto-Sun transit.
It's connected to the 1st house things that are going on, and the Saturn in Virgo will be a time to start using the new knowledge. You are a changed person soon to become a changed healer. Pluto coming to your Jupiter and eventually to your Uranus in Cancer and all the Libra will be a cosmic culmination.

The Uranus has done work on your NN, now Saturn will mold the SN and Moon. The return to Libra will be something.

And how.

This Taurus factor makes me think that your brother has some fundamental comfort with his predicament. And the ruling Venus is conjunct Jup in the 9th. The guru.

This Capricorn factor is very very interesting, especially since you have a Cap 12th house. This is where the lesson pinpoints. The 29 is really speaking. This is your chance to do it fully and then leave it eventually for the Aquarius and on to the Pisces in your 1st, maybe to fullfil potential as a great artist. That remains to be seen. If so, this knowledge in your Cap 12th will be the most important part of the unfolding. Pluto is coming into Capricorn, may I remind you. Jeeeze.

Also, Cap rules the 11th and 12th so there is even more going on as it prepares you for the collective job. You will be an expert beyond compare.

Yes. Your poor mother. The overhaul with all these advanced children. That's a lot for one women.

The contact with your mother's Moon-saturn is also interesting as the male female polarity is illuminated. Sun in Sag is a big male factor. Uranus ruler in Cancer, female. Maybe she is bringing this polarity together now.

Roaring with laughter.

My sticky honey bun ahahahaha
