Our Government

The Sun is in Leo now heralding the grand finale of the Saturn in Leo years. Hasn't it been fun? A real blast. I suggest you enjoy yourselves now while you can because the party is ending soon and servitude is scheduled to begin. On August 22 the Sun conjoins Saturn and Venus, just back in from Virgo, in this last bit of frolic. A little over a week later, the curtain will close as Saturn enters Virgo for the next 2 1/2 years. Well, as with all parties, I'm glad I survived in one piece and hangovers are usually gone by sunset the next day. They recommend swallowing a raw egg but I've never tried that.
Soon the real hard work will begin as Pluto goes into Capricorn. The Pluto in Sagittarius years alone have been volatile, unrestrained, reckless, and bombastic. The times will most likely be changing.
Pluto in Sagittarius sometimes seems like it has been one big mindless fiesta spanning days (well, years really) spilling over into totally ridiculous amounts of excess.
Neobuckeye

This is central communications as it stands now from our esteemed administration's head office, or should I say "esteamed". I'm hoping our next president will be conversant in the English language.

And here is the present White House chef. They say the next one will be cooking more organic vegetables and even some free range chickens, to replace the chickens who will be leaving office shortly.
And the winner of the contest is ..........

The Politician of the Day!
Are we in good hands? God help us, if you would.

ROFL!! Priceless, jm, priceless! And Neo's comment is penetrating as his usually are. What a team . . .

I am so ready for Saturn to move on into Virgo. :-) Must be those Uranus trines to my Sun/Moon, all in Air. Move from feeling oppressed & a little depressed to BORED! then I get my butt in gear & change! usually but not always . . . :-D

HA HA! That first picture had me in stitches! I'm ready to get serious. My Capricorn Moon is rubbing its hands together in glee as we speak. I hope she's ready for anything...

Isn't it funny? How united we are on this transit. I've never experienced this. We all feel it experientially without explanation. Astro knowledge is sinking in. We're sharing it on many levels.

Move from feeling oppressed & a little depressed to BORED!

EXACTLY, neith! I can see this coming! We'll be looking back to the good ol' days when it was so loose.

I love neo's phrase, "mindless fiesta".

One thing I'm looking forward to is tracking our experiences as these transits unfold. There's also a chance we can direct some of the energy to our advantage with the added consciousness and group input. All very interesting.

No matter what the degree of Capricorn, we usually feel the thing coming pretty soon if we have Cap planets.

It even stretches further. Moon-Saturn people in general might feel more connected to the changing times. From Jupiter to Saturn, but what's really interesting is that big conjunction coming with all of them in Cap; Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter. Rare moment.

Lot's of substance ahead. I even looked at my vacuum cleaner today with something other than contempt. Plugged it in actually. I'm getting there step by step.

curiously enough, my Moon just progressed into Capricorn, joining the Sun, Mars & ASC. Giving me an overlay of Capricorn for the first time in my life. Believe me, I'm going to be paying attention to Mr Pluto!! :-)

Not only that, neith, but Saturn coming to your MC. I never thought in a million years I would be looking forward to Capricorn!

My progressed Moon just left Cap and during that time I found mysef giving orders. Unbelievable behavior!

We are all doing pretty well, jm, in light of my grandmother's transition to the next realm. I think it's been most difficult for my mother and her sister, grandma's daughters, each in her own way. Probably her sons, too. But I think she's still watching over her family somehow. I can't help but believe that.

For my part, I've been thinking about her a lot. All of the advice she gave me, sometimes even in indirect ways, plus what you said, and all of the lessons of Saturn in Leo. With the dust now starting to settle in the wake of my Saturn Return, some things are becoming a lot more clear to me in ways that they never were before and perhaps couldn't have been. Specifically about myself. A lot of the uncertainty about my direction and goals now seems to be dissipating like smoke in the wind. I seem to be finding a clarity and focus. I know who I am better than ever before. And I know who and what I am not.

You've helped me out a lot too, with our North Node/South Node discussion. I'm sure that I've told you that I'm staying put here in Ohio. A different city for awhile, maybe, but that's just for added perspective.

All this Cancerian energy I seem to be encountering lately has been having an effect as well, I think, and that's a wondeful thing. It seems like a shift of sorts.

And I never thought I'd hear myself say this... you guys can all by my witnesses, but I really am tired of raging at the national political machine! It's just sad, really. It really, truly is! But I'm really making the effort to try and focus everthing on my fourth house/North Node in Libra now, so we'll see what comes of it.

Hallelujah!

Oh neo, am I happy.
Sad is really it and if they make you sick, they've really won. I realized how ridiculous it was to let these strangers have that power over me. To incite fear and anger. They all are temporary, symbols of the time, and life continues the way it does. Our own spheres are the most important and will bring the real change when we get it right. Too much emphasis on them and the wrong impedes this growth. We need to use the irritation as sand in the oyster shell, not get stuck there feeling persecuted. It's nonsense. Real persecution is different and we're lucky in this country. Priveleged. We should use the karma well. We've come up with a new idea here and I will be posting soon.

And I know who and what I am not.

This, I think, is the crux.

All this Cancerian energy I seem to be encountering lately has been having an effect as well, I think, and that's a wondeful thing. It seems like a shift of sorts.

You probably know how important I think the ascendant is. Get that, and we've got the whole thing. Most people resist it. The Saturn return is a perfect time to know yourself, and the ASC is really who we are.

Neo, I think it's boiling down to doing what we can constructively. The good people. I really got a strong feeling from our discussion of the Taurus-Cap trine and how you fit. People like you are the ones who are going to make the difference. with your SN knowledge of power you can help the rest of us learn how to govern ourselves properly. You have wisdom, sensitivity, and genuine caring for the people, which I think is going to grow in leaps in you. Cancer rising is an understanding and giving one.
I think this was the silver lining in these last years politically. The one that brought us together in these thinking rooms. I have a lot of confidence right now.

And I do promise to get your 10th house node up soon!

Another thought. This melodramatic view of an evil force dominating the world and that lust for money and power are doomed to create some major collapse are not fact based. It's as old as mankind and will continue. Along with the abuse of power has been human goodness all along and they probably will go on like they always have, side by side. Maybe about 50/50.

Since violence is decreasing now in the world, it's the right time to make some good moves keeping in mind that the power hungry will continue on their paths but it really doesn't matter. We balance it.

The chances for leaps in productivity are right before us in the Capricorn years. I think many of us are sensing the opportunity.

Well, I don't think it should be business as usual, or retrogressive. In the previous thread, I took off from your Pluto in Capricorn comment. :-)

It's been said that our world has a lot of problems because it doesn't understand power issues. How to manage them. Well, sounds like a good time to roll up sleeves and work those things out. Could be as difficult as we want to make it, I suppose.

We have to deal with habitual reponse and reaction formed over history with the power thing, but Pluto is power and Capricorn is management. This is why I'm going to pursue the inner executive idea.
Looking forward to your comments.

The difficulty in rolling up our sleeves and getting somewhere on the issue is the unconscious motivating factors which are not always easy to face. For example, many supposedly kind people deny any such urges but if they take an honest look they might find dictators within. This again is why I like the council idea.

We really can't change the current outer system by attacking it so the understanding of the hierarchy is the start and the beginnings of self control as we establish power structures for the good of the group.

The extremes of ruthless lust for personal power in this country are even greater I think with this current crop running for pres so this could be the prelude to some good work with the problem. It couldn't be more obvious.

Bush can now seize your property if you "threaten the stability of Iraq". This new directive comes on the heels of his May 9th directive declaring martial law in the event of a national emergency.

I'm very very much against this group panic attempt. We have to learn at some point to control this. Those of you who use these scare tactics are contributing to the whole game. Fear injections. They are actually OK if they build immunity. Are you getting there?

Take a deep breath. Relax. remember who you are. Stop following every move. Take a deep breath. Breathe in. Exhale. Forget being a sucker. Breathe in. Exhale.
You are safe.

I'm going to use this as springboard to discuss one thing that bothers me greatly. I used to bypass it but the entities have other things in mind as I join society. A frightened one, which is normal. Group think and behavior are potentially dangerous. The overreaction is what power lusting people bank on.
It's unkind for anyone to inject fear without a basis, prematurely. And lousy self defense. The fear should be as close to real as possible.
Plus the game of telephone that blurs the truth when the communications systems get going.

These past years I've been shocked at the way people take a threat and magnify it way way way beyond proportion. Several years ago the crowd was cowering and waiting for the next terror attack. Where is it? The warnings have even stopped.

Then comes the oh so feared martial law. Do you have any idea how complicated and difficult it is to institute this? Just because some hapless president says he can do it means nothing. That's the game. There will be no martial law here, and any leader can do it anytime if he really wants to. Elections are coming. This is always what happens. Are you ready? Terror is the Republican card. Haven't you learned anything? How many towers must come down before you do?

I was in an earthquake once and the group fear was completely real. An unbelievable order immediately developed with the right leadership leading us to safety. You'd be surprised what's in you.

Pluto in Capricorn will teach you this self control, hopefully. But the most important thing to ask is, "What makes anyone lay terror on others?" What inner terror is in you? Wouldn't identifying the real source of fear be a start?

What exactly are you afraid of? Is it really George Bush? Is it really the government for that matter?
Look inside. There are amazing treasures in there once the fear is recognized.

I can't force the issue, but soon the times are going to change and maturity will be beckoning. The Moon is in Capricorn now and each time hence will be reminding us of the task ahead. This country's biggest problem is her naivete. Brutal dictatorship is no game. Not what's happening here.

Fear and confidence go together. You choose.

First you can start by looking at the words for a moment and dealing with your reactions. Like trained lab animals people recoil at the mention of "martial law". The word has been bandied about without jurisprudence.

temporary rule by military forces over the citizens of an area where civil law no longer function.

I'm sure if you search the laws of our nation you will find the power is always invested in the current leadership. This can be a good thing. Major disasters can create chaos quickly and this is the way to restore order. We sometimes have to have it.

In WWI people were really jailed for speaking up and it was something entirely different. Bone up and you can start to put it into perspective. Leaders can't just artificially create chaos for dictatorial reasons at the drop of a hat. Impossible.

So in the meantime just look at the words martial law and try behavioral modification. Take them apart.

"Bush can now seize your property if you 'threaten the stability of Iraq".'

The devil's in the details. I heard that the executive order is an extension of a 1970's era law that specifically applies to people who "have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of...(A) threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq; or (B) undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people", or to other people who "have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, logistical, or technical support for, or goods or services in support of, such an act or acts of violence or any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order".

Well, I don't think anyone here is planning violence or materially supporting violence. So whom are we speaking of?

Look.

Many people are confusing the term "martial law" with "military dictatorship".

Martial law is a protective technique for emergencies.

And the chances of Bush suddenly having a military dictatorship are very very very slim. He couldn't muster up the support right now. Long shot. Not quite the fellow for the job.

Clarification of terms I think is helpful.
