The Perils of Antiquity

I love cars and I love to drive. Internal combustion suits me very well. I love the hum of the engine, the feel of the wheels on the road, the dashboard at night, and the sights of the world whizzing by.

It could be caused partly my Aries rising that relishes movement and independence. Plus, I enjoy being alone. Cruising in my car by myself offers me endless pleasure, until, of course, the inevitable breakdown. And do I love my mechanics? A resounding yes!

So it was with great pride and joy, upon emerging from the gym last night, that I found a note under my windshield wiper which read as follows:

          Hello!

I love your car!

Are you willing to sell it? If so, please reach out to me! I am a very serious buyer.

Please reach out to me @ ##########

Regards!

My heart leapt. I have one of the most admired cars in town. A 1986 Honda Prelude, one of the best cars ever made, and it's a wreck! It's held together by Bondo, everything leaks, it idles all over the place, the fuel pump doesn't engage sometimes when I start it so I have to jiggle the main relay, the rear light is partly taped, as is the front turn light, and many other things. But it is a beauty. All the guys want it.

My first car was an old red Rambler, which I drove and lent to my friends until the doors froze shut. Sometimes the linkage didn't work so I'd have to get out, lift the hood, and adjust it manually.

Another favorite was a very very old baby blue Ford station wagon I found permanently parked in a health food store lot. I named her Henrietta. She required so much oil I had to add some every time I filled the gas tank. She got lost somewhere in Mexico.

Then I had a 1970 Ford camper which I drove for about twenty years. A blizzard broke the frame and it made a huge racket, but it was sturdy and I could stand up in it!

And now, after twenty-five years, I still love my Honda. So I'm not selling!

Ha! Ha! Ha! My first car was a Rambler as well.

My favorite car was a Saab which carried my all over and into 4 wheel drive country in the Canadian Rockies.

Your Prelude is perfect with it's bondo and tape. You know its quirks and nothing could replace it.

I have family photos like the one you posted. Picnic with car that had replaced a horse wagon. We've moved away from that practical connection....drive in movies on a hot night. Stars under stars.

Ooooh, a Saab. Beautiful.

So funny. The rambling Sag ladies in their Ramblers.

Mine didn't ramble far. It was barely together, but I did like having wheels with a big open space to carry a lug of squash and art stuff! Now it's a truck. Just a practical gal.

OK this is good.
Justice Thomas sees social media platforms as utilities. Yes! Now let's see more of this.

Thomas is impressive. We just need to hear from the intelligent reasonable ones. New platforms coming. Different kinds of financing.

The break-up of monopolistic corporate power would be the miracle of Pluto in Capricorn. Or even a loosening. It's an old habit but it's time.

Sw. T when Pluto entered Capricorn I expected big changes in monetary systems. So far not much, but think we might start seeing it soon. Trump clearly had a plan. We'll see Pluto isn't done with us.

Maybe smaller changes are better. I definitely think results are coming. The destruction is being made obvious and people are ready to live now that the sickness is winding down. Trump is a good one to help with reconstruction.

I think there are laws of physics, so the financial structures will respond. I don't think people have the power. Maybe systems do and they'll act accordingly. 2024 promises to be fascinating.

Looks like a lot of people were alarmed by the corporate action around the new Georgia election law. That's the old Pluto in Cap habit of big business determining politics. Voting is sacrosanct and people got it this time. It was predictable. Big money is going too far. A real correction should be in the cards. It has to come from us as a whole.

And Florida is at it again, this time around broadcasting lies. People are finally speaking up there. It could well be that the transit is coming home and reconstruction time will be soon. The good part. Any builders available? :-)

Hell is breaking loose on the election integrity issue, the most important thing in my view. The reveal can't be stopped. Trump stated that he was going to work hard on it and it looks like something is happening, with a lot to unfold. Cheating ain't right. An old rule. Thou shalt not and all that.

Voters never questioned the process before, but now I think they are as it takes the spotlight. I'm fairly delighted.

With Venus in Aries adding a sweet touch.

Agreed on the big corps being exposed. Facebook piling as much money as the US Gove into a few select areas in the last election made me gasp, so brazen. That's not finished I reckon.

Incremental is good, but I still believe the end result will be something new. Fiat currency is dead. Either that or we join the list of failed republics. And I don't believe that is our destiny.

I celebrate the burial of fiat. Great funeral.

The coverup of the steal was/is so desperate it makes people suspicious. They are not all that bright. If intelligence only matched their greed. Thank god it doesn't.

I think we're far from failed. It takes a very very long time of corruption, debauchery, and decay. We've only just begun!

I found it interesting that Trump worked to curtail American hegemony. That's new for us. I think he might know that we are dominant naturally, so bringing effort, money, etc. back home poses no threat. People love his anti-war stance and that is my main issue, so I'm in. More of it, please. His idea of an unused but strong defense is right up my street.

The natural dominance of North Node Leo is in the wings for consideration as Pluto gets ready. The caretaking of the world, and all its meddling, has been done with South Aquarius. Been there done that. It will soon be time to let go.

So in light of that, building health and vitality now in preparation is wise. Why does the world look up to us no matter what we do? I hope for the dignity to continue in that role in a more conscious way.

Wise one! I'm gonna try too.

Trump's visit to Asia had me watching every second; red carpets, reviewing the troops! Who would have imagined such a thing? And that sword dance in Saudi, all the fanfare. And the biggie stepping into North Korea and shaking hands with Kim Jong-un. Still, my Bernie lovin' friends could not see. We had become a nation of peace through strength with Trump.

After the election one of these friends wrote, “ Condolences, i know you were hoping for Trump” i replied. Condolences for the world, have you noticed our military is back in Syria?

No, they have not seen, but they are beginning to.

Oh my. I too was captivated by that Asian trip. The ritual with hands on the globe in Saudi Arabia was interesting. People don't see but that's all right. They need their beliefs. They look at Trump and see personal reflections, not what he does. It's hard to deal with friends in some cases, so I don't bring the subject up. Other things are more important than another's opinion of Donald Trump. They see what they see. We share what we see with joy. We can get along if the haters learn some self discipline. The patterns behind are the important thing.

Trump is hard to take in many ways. Some things he does perturb me, and I'm leery of some of his alliances, but his skills outweigh those things. His 29 Leo dignity is a major major plus. He holds his head exactly the right way for a great leader. It transcends his faults. But people have to be ready to embrace it. That will be somewhere in the future. It's their own dignity they're missing. So they label the dignity as the exact opposite. They fear it.

I am hoping the move toward Middle East peace is endemic and won't be stopped.

I don't hear the war drums, but it could be my Pollyvision.

Bernie's a charlatan. Can't stand him. He's for communism as long as he's got his. Cars and mansions. Millionaires (Mr. Bernie) hating billionaires. What a silly game. Pitiful, but people think they need him. Ideally I like to let people be to do and think what they will, but persecution of Trump folks is too much. Wrong to the nth. Sometimes justice prevails.

People are naive. They don't understand that communism brings the exact same result as capitalism. A ruling class over a servant class.

I'll sing goodbye to those unreal bux!
