Mercury Goes Backward.
The Past Goes into the Past

Sometimes Mercury retrograde in Cancer can upset the stomach a little, so I've prepared a remedy for anyone who needs it. Guaranteed to solve minor family dilemmas or your money back.
Wait! .... no...... it's free.
Well suffice it to say, satisfaction guaranteed.

That looks mighty tasty!

jm, I had an interesting thought. Ever since I bought my house, we've had minor but irritating issues with windows and doors (i.e., openings or portals) breaking, being broken, or being invaded somehow (such as by squirrels-- just what I needed!). Every month or so there's some problem with a portal of some sort. Can you help me identify anything in my chart that would predispose me this?

I had big problems with squirrels myself in about 1977. And woodpeckers. It was terrible. Wrote Woodpecker Blues as a result. I'll look.

This is very interesting. Could be a lot of things. It can mean a lack of protection around the inner self, but the entrances and exits are the keys. Windows are visons of the future, the doors are the actual passageways, out and also in. They serve as protection against the outside elements but they are meant to be flexible. The home represents the past, so maybe there is an issue there, and this Cancer time is bringing it to mind.

Invasions of privacy could be involved or feelings of a hostile environmant outside the self. The environment IS hostile but we have to go anyway. A lesson for me.

The lack of barrier is very interesting. It could mean you need more fortification, or it could mean you are being beckoned to venture out of your secure cave. They're coming after you!
Saturn is in your 4th now, so this is an issue as you get things squared away at home and get ready.

So something is interfering with the natural flow. You would know.

When was the date of purchase, again?

Saturn in Gemini is a lesson of mutability--flexibility.

Squirrels are very intersting, very connected to humans. Sometimes they bother you sometimes not at all. I know what they can do. That was the only time in my life they bothered me and they're always around. They observe us and choose the interaction.

The time I had problems was on my 1st Saturn return. After that I moved to Denver so I could face the world and my ambitions. The saturn in your 4th now is trying to get you right with the family so they won't block your progression.

I just had Saturn in my 4th and worked on my house. Now that you mention this, I'd better face the world, or the peckers and squirrels will come after me again! Lots of peckers here.

Saturn will be leaving Leo shortly for Virgo. Time to fix the underlying problems. Big stuff coming up in a couple of years when Saturn hits your Libra stellium, and Pluto, your Capricorn. Very big.

So foundation is calling to be established permanently now.

Btw. The Saturn-Neptune opposition just finished in your 4th and 10th house. Home and the world.

Revealing ideals out there to be worked on, while the past undertow is controlled. Very very hard to really control this with a SN in Cancer, but now you are conscious. Big difference.

I also want to take this opportunity to express why I think astrology can be so helpful and how astrologers can contribute their best. The more people really understand self-sabotage, the more healthy they can become, and the whole society will benefit.

I will not stop championing the cause of the individual and his importance to the whole. From kernel to blossoming plant, not the reverse, like it has been done.

Joe,
I lived in a house with a major squirrel problem and it was fixed by the landlord. He greased a bunch of the hole openings, gutters, etc. with grease Not sure what kind) and then smeared it all with cayenne pepper. Squirrels hate cayenne pepper, apparently. It worked!

Wow, what a lot to absorb! The date of purchase was 3-29-99.

I'll get that into the chart room and comment in awhile. Something could be resolved with the Mercury retrograde.

The first and foremost factor is the NN in the 4th, so there is an underlying goodness in the home. This could actually be problematic as you feel more and more like leaving the cacoon, but the comfort could hold you back. Some irritant is necessary.

There is a lot of push pull in the chart, so this makes sense with the portals. The Sun was in Aries at the closing, indicating push out, but the ruling Mars was retrograde in Scorpio...back in. Way back in. Around your natal Sun in the 6th house of work. So your daily jobs create the arena now where all this is being played out.

Mercury was also retro in Pisces. Pull in.
Uranus and Neptune were in Aquarius in your 10th. Push out.

My conclusion is that the house is representing the conflict of home and the world, SN in Cancer, NN in Capricorn, and will provide the energy to propel you out, still providing refuge when you return. But truly getting out and committed is required. Even coming here and posting is part of it.

Squirrels are great survivors and they seem quite fearless to me.

Another thing that came to mind is your natal Mars-Uranus conjunction and the tendency to "break" through. Remember the egg?

I have this too. Windows have been known to shatter:-)

The Mercury retrograde now is giving you the chance to think about this and absorb it for use, much moreso than usual. You should get results.

I'm so pleased to see this. The genuine search for resolution, but I should be used to that by now from you:-)

Still, I enjoy it.
