Fate & the Split Second
"Make hay while the sun shines", the old timers say. Not a bad idea, as this surprised Coloradoan knows.
Keeps us dancing on our toes.
Bart Deferme thought his friend was joking. 'I was at work and I got a call from a friend who told me my house was on fire. You can never take that seriously when you hear that on the phone the first time.' But his friend wasn't joking. Lightning had entered the roof and burned out the attic and top floor of his house. And no joke -- his wife is a meteorologist. The $100,000 worth of damage has rendered the home uninhabitable for the next three months.'We have a number of very good friends and neighbors, and they're hooking us up with dinners and a place to sleep.'What do you imagine are the karmic lessons here? I would guess a lot of Uranus-Aquarius: dealing with sudden unexpected events, karmic shock absorbers, material attachment, friends and the kindness of strangers. The lesson of help is a big one and they will carry this forever.
Everybody in the war zone has karmic lessons to learn, as do those in the peaceful meadows. Problem is, it can turn on a dime in a split second.

Let me add one of the biggest lessons of Aquarius and the 11th house. Maybe the most important.
Circumstances beyond our control
Large part of the Saturn-Uranus up ahead as we move beyond walls.
Hmmm. More fun and games. But there's a beautiful freedom and absolution from guilt if one accepts that things will, at some point "turn on a dime," that you can't avoid it, and that it's even OK. :)
I'm not exactly happy with the turns sometimes. I had one about 8 months ago and I went into shock. It took the entire 8 months to resolve it, but during that time I kept working with several issues-- trust, constantly changing expectation, assuming that things would or would not work out, creative problem solving, fear control, patience, and most of all, the fact that it was my own doing.

Yup. Turns both ways.
and most of all, the fact that it was my own doing.
Or should I say "undoing". That's the tricky part. I believe I am the architect of the events of my life but since I'm not conscious of the turning hidden wheel, it seems like I'm not in control of a lot of it. I suppose the journey through is an attempt to marry this inner wheel with consciousness.
I was told this story a long time ago. The woman who founded the raw food movement was totally against using fire in cooking and taught her followers to only eat raw uncooked foods. Well, guess what happened to her? She died by being burned, her whole house burned down! She got cooked, I guess you could say.
Then in Europe a very famous heart surgeon dies by a heart attack. There are many other examples I have like this. Used to leave me scratching my head, all about our own shadow and what we reject ultimately we will attract and live out. So, for me it means it is better to stay in neutrality and non judgment.
For Bart Deferme, there must be something there too that he is ignoring and this fire is trying to show him, whether he is able to see it and embrace it, change it and make peace with it, I wonder.
could be a lesson associated with any archetype, depending on the lesson ready to be learned - i use the example of a house burned down in an article on karma on my site, as it happens!
Analysa those are fascinating stories.

This is intersting, tom, and welcome to Raging Universe! We've been talking a lot lately about the archetypes and I'm very interested in what you have to say about karma and burning houses.
I agree that the lessons can vary greatly. Sometimes it's learning to let go of the past and having change forced. The fire itself is what interests me, and this case, the lightning. Sudden awareness is indicated by the lightning flash, so I know it's Uranus.
Sometimes destruction is complete with a fire and moves have to be made, but he is repairing and moving back, and that makes a big difference.

Yes.
Fire is associated with spirit so there are probably spiritual longings involved.
Another thing to consider here is the fact that most fires come from internal causes. This was external, more of circumstances beyond control. Could be Capricorn-Aquarius issues and learning to relinquish control.
Now I want his chart!!!!

Had to repeat this because I particularly like your wording. "Ready to be learned."
This indicates a good attitude. A view of life teaching lessons and being just. This is exactly my theory. I think we're doing the right thing until the time comes and we're ready for the added consciousness. A guiding something or other to be trusted.
My sister, whose SN is in Cancer, had her house and car completely burn down. I've never seen a person deal with such a huge home-related loss be so matter-of-fact about it.
'I'm obviously meant to learn that things are meaningless" was her response. The only thing she claims to have missed was her babyhood doll.
Chrispito, that's a great story. Thanks for bringing it in. All SN Cancers should burn down the house is some way. I'm interested in her birth stats to see if her attitude shows up elsewhere. It's unusual.

I love this so much. It also show quick adjustment skills so maybe strong mutable planets.
