Zelda's Eggs

Myrtle Rae's Uranian chicken, Zelda, is known for laying some highly stimulating eggs. People in the vicinity say these creations add an exceptional kick to their holiday eggnog. Now that wild Uranus is squaring dour Saturn once again, I expect the eggs to add a lot of spirit to the holiday cheer.

Eggnog has its roots in the tradition of egg and wine punches, but evolved in colonial America to suit the available ingredients, most notably, rum. Rum was referred to as grog, thus egg and grog, shortened to egg 'n grog, then eggnog. Make it easy!

America's first President, George Washington, was quite fond of a very strong eggnog and the recipe is as follows:

"One quart cream, one quart milk, one dozen tablespoons sugar, one pint brandy, 1/2 pint rye whiskey, 1/2 pint Jamaica rum, 1/4 pint sherry -- mix liquor first, then separate yolks and whites of eggs, add sugar to beaten yolks, mix well. Add milk and cream, slowly beating. Beat whites of eggs until stiff and fold slowly into mixture. Let sit in cool place for several days. Taste frequently."

They were tough guys our founding Dads. The fellas could use a (some) stiff drink(s) after freezing in the Delaware River securing our independence.

Cheers!!!!

“Taste frequently”
Strong and maybe a bit tippy during the season!

Thanks for the history. I just bet Zelda's eggnog is the talk of the town.

Here it's glögg all winter. It chases the chill away and seemingly colds too.

December, we have arrived at the end of the year, can you believe it?

Yep. Another one complete.
12 months, 12 signs, one more circle, and we're all the wiser.

Just.read this, made me chuckle and think of you.

“I once contracted the Mississippi Delta variant.
It gave me the blues”

Also reminded me of the Twenties and how Jazz came to life in a troubled time.

We will all be ready for richer arts of all kind!

Jazz sure did bring life. The 30s is my favorite era musically. Incredible joy overrode despair. The songs were whimsical and the musicians ebullient. This country has birthed great songwriters. Mars in Gemini at play.

Yes we all will be ready for richer arts. Neptune in Aries bodes well for renewal. I'm very interested in what new faces and styles emerge. Eggnogging in the bars! Zelda and Myrtle Rae are wonderful leaders. Natural ones.

It's just as well the difficulties take time to resolve themselves. It buys more good time. Contrast and equilibrium in the great Everything.

I'm noticing an ever so slight improvement in the soundtrack out there. The volume is down a bit. Maybe they realize that the noise jangles raw nerves. God knows the kids have been nervous. NN in Taurus with Uranus next might help the always struggling arts. But boy oh boy. Neptune is headed for quite a transition. Get those Zelda shots lined up!

It seems the spiritual has been vague and hard to access with Neptune in Pisces. It's been kind of a fallen angel time, but the urge seems to have grown. Neptune in Aries gives it direction.

Neptune in Aries. Spiritual health and vitality. Perhaps the sickness points out the joys of caring for one's self and living well. The strength of Aries is undeniable.

Sometimes with Pisces, humans drift away into sickness to be free of the mundane complications but eventually they return with renewed vigor. I've noticed a marked listlessness out there but people seem weary of being weary. Maybe it was a good rest.

Yeeeeaaayyyyy!!! Congratulations you talented wonderful woman!

Yes, I think so. The episode is winding down. Recovery will take a little time but the results and renewal will prove it to be worthwhile. There are so many layers to experience. The dastardly part gets immediate attention but the gains and joys reveal themselves always. Nothing is really bad or good. It's both. Rewards are a given. Just ask DSW! Or Oregon Coast! Timing is always interesting. Gains and losses on the cosmic seesaw.

Desire for art never disappears. It's vital human nourishment.
