Are You Nuts???

Stimulus? Stimulus!!! My third and final husband couldn't take any more stimulation so he moved to Bali. We still love each other and it's worked out for the best since Mortimer, my irascible parrot, didn't much care for him. He can be negative. So everybody's happy. But you have to be cautious, especially with Uranus in the neighborhood.
Stimulate yourselves, that's my advice. Don't wait for anyone to do it for you, they won't do it right. Plant snap beans in your pansy bed and learn to love the pot luck. It's all a matter of luck anyway. Pray for rain, count your chickens, and love thy neighbor just in case.
And stay creative! Now that Venus is parked in Aries, I've taken up classical Hindu dance, and I highly recommend a new personal pleasure for everyone.

Hej Myrtle Rae.

Classical Hindu dance, now that sounds interesting. Afraid I have to use this mars energy to clear a fire break around my house. We have all the hallmarks of a big fire year, more stimulation than i want.

I did plant snap beans with the day lilies tho.

Say hi to Zelda from me.

Thanks kindly JM for the info on the up coming transit.

"The Mars conjunction to Uranus is interesting. Most people predict violence."

I had some trepidation re. the above but you have allayed my fears.

"When the conjunction occurs, Venus will be back at 29 Pisces so this is especially interesting. Then Venus goes on to Aries and Mars does too. We should d the confidence to realize some of the disappointment with our leadership, and how much strength we need within ourselves to get through what lies ahead. Pisces washes away, and hopefully some fear will go in the waves, along with illusions."

I like the thought of having my fears, illusions and disappointments washed away by the waves of Pisces. And am looking forward to the confidence of Aries.

So sorry I missed the end of the conversation last night.

Chris. You wrote a loving narrative on your Dad and I do agree with JM you have become the elder.

I am with you on this. I was shocked by his silence and the timing of it was so obvious to anyone with half a brain. I kept waiting for him to come out and make a bold statement. As far as I am concerned his silence on Gaza created lost marketing on his 'Brand.'

Wow. Great catching up with all the comments!

DuCan, thanks for pointing that last Maplethorpe comment to me, and I really appreciate it! I was wrong to assume that everyone knew the back story about just why there was such controversy over that particular artist. He was a very interesting artist, a passionate yet brutally detached relationship to beauty. I'm sure the show of nudes and flowers will be spectacular.

Tseka, your property sounds amazing. It must be good for your heart to know it exists even if it is remote and difficult to get to physically.

One comment about worms: I heard this somewhere but cannot remember where.... we tend to think of worms as rather powerless (no limbs) weak gross little creatures. But from a worms point of view they are amazing strong powerful monolithic monster/machines who move the very earth!

OK, two comments: I used to have a worm farm and plan to start another soon. Kept in my garage, they don't smell. I gave them table scraps and they turned it into fertilizer. I had to let it die off tho and fantasized that for them, this was the fall of their Roman Empire.

JM, DuCan, I also have Uranus on my Mars at the moment and close to my venus too. Just before the conjunction (last xmas) I slipped on ice and broke a leg and got bad sprains on the ankle and a wrist. Needed surgery and was in a sort of traction then a wheel chair. Now I'm in a walking cast (which is bright green). Boy was this ever like NOT being able to take a step forward. I guess I'm one of those who destiny needs to drag because the immobility drove me nuts. But...but... somehow it has allowed me to review.

Double A, I agree with your political assessment. This economic crisis is Obama's 9/11 and so far he is handling it like Bush did in that their people (cabinet, "czars", and in Bush's case his VP) engage in cronyism and that all too often leads to incompetence. I think Geitner and Summers are simply too close to those who are entrenched in how things have been done in the past and therefore who have personal reasons to NOT change. I'm not blaming them, that is what people do, we get used to a way and if we get something out of it tend to favor continuing rather than changing for uncertain results.

I heard that Chris Dodd (not sure I'm getting this right) (Banking Committee Chair) inserted language in the bailout bill that would allow for these AIG bonuses. I wonder if that is true. Maybe he simply did not put in language that would block these contracts, or just ignored them which would throw them back onto legalese.

Thanks dxp.
But I have to make a correction:
It is not his full frontal nudes that are in the exhibition. It's his portraits of mostly celebrities. The exhibition is guest-curated by Gordon Baldwin, a twenty-one year veteran with the Getty Museum.

Here is an excerpt from the Museum Catalogue:

By far the largest portion of his considerable photographic output, is his portraiture which reflects and embodies the New York cultural milieu of the late 1970s and the 1980s. Within his roster of clients can be found a pantheon of many of the most significant artists, art dealers, writers, musicians, designers, actors and actresses of the period as well as a host of ancillary figures. This exhibition of approximately one hundred portraits, principally drawn from the holdings of the Mapplethorpe Foundation, will present an overview of this most important aspect of his career and by implication the environment in which it flourished. Among the sitters included in the exhibition are William Burroughs, Truman Capote, Marianne Faithfull, David Hockney, Grace Jones, Roy Lichtenstein, Brice Marden, Lisette Model, Alice Neel, Iggy Pop, Ed Ruscha, and Andy Warhol.

Teska and myrtle rae are tight!

That's interesting on your leg, dxp. Mars-Uranus can be violent but it's never gratuitous and if we're conscious we can gain from the experiences. Breakthrough can mean just that. The thing with transits is that it doesn't do much good to be afraid of them or try to sidestep events. They happen anyway and we're prepared to deal with them.

we tend to think of worms as rather powerless (no limbs) weak gross little creatures. But from a worms point of view they are amazing strong powerful monolithic monster/machines who move the very earth!

Great comment and story about your worm farm!

I slipped on ice and broke a leg and got bad sprains on the ankle and a wrist.

Ankles represent unbonded relationships so that could be the indication there. After it all heals, you'll probably see some change and now might be the most important part of the review, right before you get back in action.

Mars in Pisces can sometimes be afraid of her strength and aggression and turn it inward. In a way, the leg could be kicking through a longstanding barrier in your life. The things that happen to us are much more than what they appear. Reading the body is equal to my fascination with reading the stars. I put it all together for myself. I used to think something was terribly wrong when bad things happened, and now I think otherwise. In fact, sometimes I think the opposite. That a path is being cleared.

We're all getting ready for Uranus in Aries which will probably send us forward since it's happening in all our charts. We're preparing for that breakthrough.

I'll do more on Mars in Pisces.

"Ankles represent unbonded relationships so that could be the indication there." JM, could you explain more? Not sure of what "unbonded" means. Thanks for the comment, also. These past few months have seemed like so much is in a waiting pattern both personally and socially. The main problem now is a wound on the ankle which will not heal. Shades of chiron!

Regarding the earlier discussion of alternative medicine.... I treated my daughter with homeopathics while she was growing up. She became very sensitive to them since I was very careful with her diet and health (much more than I ever am with my own!), and they were extremely effective. She was amazingly healthy and they seemed to strengthen her immune system. They are very difficult to use tho, and it helped that I did lots of research and knew her well with all her little quirks. She does have her sun in the sixth which might also help with a good response.

"Otherwise if the bear is still hungry, these rallies will not last more than 8 weeks. " So, what do YOU think? Is the bear still hungry??

I don't think they will last but here's my theory...

Jupiter-Neptune is coming up so the rally could continue and the economy might play a sleight of hand luring people into believing in the Promised Land after all. I think the buildup of illusion is this strong now because of the reality that eventually has to be faced. If the crash is hard enough it will get through, so the rise coming now could be part of the end of Uranus in Pisces leading to the last opposition to Saturn in Virgo. There is tremendous motivation coming with the cardinal squares and pressure comes first.

We're in a difficult spot. The system is sick but people don't want it to fail since their life savings are tied up in their retirement accounts. As the market rises, so will their hopes. No one knows what's needed for the system to correct itself and this is part of the illusion and uncertainty as we leave Pisces. Maybe a complete not-knowing is required first, and then the solutions will start to come. Pisces is supposed to deliver trust. But trust in what? We might find out. Impossible to say. But I think the market madness is part of the lesson.

In the meantime, people are thinking hard about financial alternatives. I'm not sure the market will allow them to stay stuck in their past habits. In some ways, the markets know. They have a consciousness. They'll do right metaphysically.

Very interesting and I would focus on this. Aquarius wants freedom in relationships and not a lot of emotional demand. I don't know what else you have that would indicate closeness in relationships, but when ankles cause trouble it usually means you want more freedom. It's like getting out of shackles. Unbonded means no deep emotional drains, little possessiveness, and freedom to come and go, as well as other things.

Ankles also means mobility and the ability to change directions easily, so any of these could be the issues.

The confinement is probably serving a good purpose in allowing you to stop and ponder your direction and make adjustments. Because of the severity of the break, I think it's a pretty big turning point and opportunity.

These past few months have seemed like so much is in a waiting pattern both personally and socially.

I would look at the "socially" in that statement. Maybe you want to come out of yourself more into expanded circles.

Another thing you can do is look at the circumstances surrounding the moment of the break. Where it happened, where you were going, and things like that. There are usually many clues there. How have the people in your life responded? Another clue. These events are wonderful guideposts.

17/3/09 2:31 PM
Blogger dxp said...

Yes, the people in my life have responded. They've been wonderful and have taken care of me - despite my inclination to reclusiveness at times of injury or illness. One friend moved in with me and nursed me for 6 weeks. But it also drove me a bit nuts - I'm rather independent sort. I'm very grateful for friends. And family.

And I have been wanting to change direction in my life in 2 or 3 areas.

I have several friends who follow a kind of astrology called "shamanic" astrology. Not sure I'm attracted to the name, but they are. The methods are similar but to establish "lineage" it is the moon sign for the "tribe" and then you have to go to whole house and find the SN house position. That tells the "job" within the "tribe". This is indicative of where a person is coming from but lessons to be learned go with NN in the whole house position plus rising sign. Have you heard of this? What do you think?

Excellent article chiron. Really well said. Clear and to the point.

one tends to make decisions that can be brought up again and again as examples of ones inconsistency, between what one says and what one does.

The discomfort with that will increase and I'm curious to see what happens with the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction. The deception could be more noticeable, or it could be more veiled. Maybe both.
But the major lesson of deception in politics is coming down quite nicely, and so far, easily.

I get the sense that the collective mind is perceiving it and it's just a matter of time. He's done us well by embodying our problem so perfectly. Here is a "perfect" example of the word manipulation.

He criticized pork barrel spending in the form of earmarks… then (Wednesday) he signed a spending bill that contains nearly 9,000 of them, some that members of his own staff shoved in last year when they were still members of Congress.
"I am signing an imperfect… bill because it is necessary for the ongoing functions of the government, and we have a lot more work to do. We can’t have Congress bogged down at this critical juncture in our economic recovery."

The why mention the earmarks in the first place? Notice how the perfect-imperfect theme of Virgo-Pisces is spelled out. He's doing well. We'll be there when Uranus is finished.

It all works out.

I haven't heard of it, but I put full faith in the nodes. I make all my decisions based on the north.

Here's the deal with the group. The sharing of metaphysics is perfect for your Aquarian Merc, but your Mars in Pisces would resist the sytem required if it's strict. Other people's system are limited but they can help point us in good directions at times. So you have to keep that in mind, maybe enjoying the comraderie while keeping your own inner voice well heard. If there are a lot of women it could be great as a healing balm for some of society's ills you feel in that direction. You can't do much about that, so enjoying being a woman, with other women, is a good idea anyway while still fighting for rights in an effective way.

One of the most important lessons of Aquarius is "circumstances beyond our control." So these lessons aften involve an abdication of will in ways that aren't working and getting used to the unexpected. It's giving up the personal throne in exchange for a larger freedom.

This is going on collectively, too, with all the Aquarian placements and the SN in Leo continuing in the inaugural chart. Ego, hubris, and all that are due for correction as the spotlight shifts, finding a broader stage. It could explain the faulty international start. It will dveleop.

The node articles above apply.

I am a big fan of Ray Merriman. Glad chiron mentioned him. I agree JM this week's observations are excellent. He shares some of your thoughts.

Merriman wrote:
"But Obama is still King Arthur, Camelot, and John F Kennedy (we are talking about the symbolism of the “Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius in mutual reception with Uranus in Pisces” kind… you know, the heroes, the saviors of the universe, the good guys in the Matrix of the X-Box-Nintendo-Play Station games). He still has plenty of political capital while this mutual reception remains through January 2010. But it begins to wane as the forthcoming Saturn-Pluto square starts its influence, sometime after August 2009."

Aha! Virgo loves systems, no doubt, and Pisces does not. Pisces goes on faith, Virgo needs empirical evidence, so this opposition is in the limelight now.

Virgo is enchanted with skill and detail. Sometimes the synthesis is lost, though. Interesting about mastery and seeing beyond. that's how I read charts. I learned the details quickly but always knew that the solution to the puzzle wasn't in those details. So I instinctively looked at the whole chart, while it's own patterns appeared as if in a darkroom. That's why I don't like aspect lines. I prefer a lot of empty space. I have Mars-Neptune in the 6th, which combines the Virgo-Pisces.

The Merriman article was one of his best and I am highly encouraged. People really are coming around to clarity about the Promised Land. I was a little ahead of the curve, but not by much.

He stressed the importance of the issue so this is a very good sign.

Again, it's not the players. It's the much larger issue of where we are headed as a collective and we've chosen these people as symbols. They are easy to read now and that's encouraging. The people are going to get it. I have more confidence by the day. Jup-Nep should be pivotal.

I'm not sure that made sense.

In homeopathy (and kudos to you dxp that's quite and achievement with your daughter) we each express an illness in our own unique way. The remedy necessary for cure is matched exactly to the person who has the symptoms, not the illness.

Except in an epidemic when an illness is touching nearly everyone, then one remedy often turns up as the similimum for the whole population. The epidemic then dies down and cannot return until a new generation of susceptibility arrives.
