Escape in A Flat Major

Sometimes I wish I could get out of here
Take a trip ... and disappear
Got to think about it, got to stretch my mind
Imagine the place, it's a tropical kind
It's the place ..... of my mind's desire
Deep in the heat, deep in the fire
It's mind over matter, a matter of mind
I can go there ... almost any time

Hoo-kawokka hoo-kawokka hoo-kawokka hoo
The spotted cat and the jackal too
The diamond back comin' after you
You've got to watch where you step in the dark night
You've got to watch for the things that bite
There's always something trying to get a piece of you
No matter what you do
You've got to have magic in the words you say
To scare all the evil away
Hoo-kawokka hoo-kawokka hoo-kawokka hoo
Man, I gotta get outta here. There are four planets in my 12th house. Quite a crowd. I'm tired of entertaining them. Mercury wants to yak, the Sun wants my constant attention, Uranus wants transportational teleponic discourse, and Venus wants to make love. I really gotta get away from the house of escape.

I loved it--"stretching the mind",-- that!, is offered here everyday! With the knowledge and the progressive path we are taking here, my mind is like a sponge, absorbing it all.

"You've got to have magic in the words you say
To scare all the evil away "
Just add some candles and incense, and we are out of here, already.
Great words to follow. Wow! We need to get away from the glaring, "lights, camera, action", that our President is causing and blinding us.
Yes, the picture is great, too.

Magic won't erase sheer stupidity.
In an effort to bolster sagging approval ratings Barack thought that the Tonight Show would be an appropriate venue to add a 'light touch' to his teleprompter dependant persona. Incorrect.
Instead what is obvious is a different facet of this paper mache personality, deftly manufactured for widespread public consumption by PR firms, the MSM, and varied vested interests that have given us 21st century America.

Here from Hillbuzz is a quote this morning I found rather stunning.

"The thing most Americans don’t realize, that we in Chicago who have seen Obama up close and personal for years know very well, is that this whole business about him being a “great communicator” is all a lot of apocryphal hype. Obama is no such thing. He is clumsy and awkward when not in front of a teleprompter and, because he’s never felt like he fits in anywhere, he very often makes painfully bad jokes in attempts to fit in.

He’s Steve Urkel in the lunch room, trying to sit at the table with all the popular kids, so he tells gross jokes and demeans others so he’s not the focus of the joking. He hits others so he doesn’t get hit, and deflects the awkwardness he feels on others.

In Springfield, state senators had regular poker games, at which Obama was notorious for telling gross, excrutiatingly vulgar jokes, or railing against the termagant he married. The things he used to say about Michelle at those poker games, while largely accurate by all accounts, are things husbands don’t say in public about their wives — no matter how much they want to get in good with all the other guys sitting around the table. Men don’t even talk like that in a locker room, or sitting together along a latrine. But, there he was, Obama the state senator, reveling in the same sexism and misogyny his campaign would gleefully employ to great success throughout 2008.

So, making jokes about the mentally and physically disabled, like he did on Jay Leno, doesn’t surprise us about Obama. This is who he is.

The media claims he’s something else. His campaign convinced many of you he’s something else.

But, this is who he is."

Poor Larry Sinclair, no one believes him. I do.

My sentiments exactly. I'm thinking of an apartment or small cottage somewhere on the Nicoya peninsula in Costa Rica. Some books to read, a surf board and nothing I must do at any particular time. A year of such an existence has great appeal to me right now.

The titanic (read USA) had hit the iceberg. The captain had jumped ship and the choice was between two men, Obama and McCain for a replacement. Obama promised a change of direction but this was almost a moot point, and in the short term it just meant rearranging deck chairs of the sinking ship. McCain promised us everything was fine and fundamentally sound. This sounded really off. This from the guy who crashed a record number of planes. But then again maybe he knew something about doomed situations.

Once the ship is sunk and the people are in the lifeboats (rich) or swimming (poor) in the freezing waters, it's anybodies guess who will make the best leader. For this period of disintegration, the choice was between two men denying or not aware of reality in different ways.

It's getting out of hand. I can barely watch the wreck, so you'll have to keep me informed.

Chiron, I was disgusted with the Tonight Show game. That's not the kind of president I want. It's so tacky. Where the hell is everyone's heads? He's mocking the people and I'm amazed that they take it. No. I'm not amazed. Scratch that.

because he’s never felt like he fits in anywhere

I've said this countless times. His SN in Aquarius and trouble.

Obama the state senator, reveling in the same sexism and misogyny his campaign would gleefully employ to great success throughout 2008.

Misogyny is very common with Leos.

I missed it all so maybe you can tell me what happened on the show.

I LOVE Ennio!!!!!! He's changed my life.

This has everything to do with all the delusions of Pisces I've been talking about. Obama is really out of it, filled with fantasies about his greatness, but it will correct at the right time.

The people have to realize that the financial downfall is not going to make them any happier than they are now. It's much more and this president is a symbol of the disconnect. He's a saint, they still say. I knew about his Chicago past, but that's how politicians are. It's a crime syndicate.

An even bigger problem is the country's lack of political understanding and I'm not sure how that can be fixed.

I was thrilled that Obama got elected and broke the color barrier and I still am.

But gradually the country will understand how much we need a new model of leadership, and this president represents the old, just as the transits indicated. Even that was a cosmic deception - just because he's brown means that change has come? Now we know the truth - race, gender and all of that truly don't matter, and that's good. There was a lot of pressure on him, being the 1st black, to be exceptional, but the cosmic entities are tricksters. And the collective consciousness knows best. Things never work out the way you think they will, I've found. There also might be some good surprises ahead.

The new has to start from the bottom and will eventually be manifest on top, but I think Obama is good in that he will make it easier for us to see the deception. He's doing well with that.

It's impossible to say what will happen when the hard cardinal squares come, but I think we'll be past some of this otherwordly psychosis and we might come down to earth and take care of things. I hope this is the last of the rock stars in the White House.

The most important thing is how unimportant these people are. We have a collective destiny that tells its story regardless of who's centerstage. We're going to get a sizable lesson in this soon - when Mars goes retrograde in Leo in the fall for eight months. Incredible.

I've a friend who was given an interesting meditation. He was given a cast of characters and asked to make a fairy tale out of them (in the von Franz style of archetypes).

Now we have the Witch (pluto) in the castle (capricorn), an Ocean (Neptune), the crisis (Chiron), and plot changer (Uranus), the Judge (Jupiter). And we need a princess and a prince (the people/us) upon which these other characters act. Sound close?

It has to be mpk, although I don't know what they'll do if faced with diminishing power. If we get our democracy up another notch with the Pluto return, it will have to happen. The disppointmnt with this one could be a major step.

Problem is, I think, is that "us" isn't the good character exactly.

Right now the witch/monster is the bankers and the people smugly think they are the innocent victims, and when the enemy is slain all will be rosy. I think the real story comes when the witch is found in all of us and the commoners realize they are implicated.

It really looks that way with the flashy star taken to the extreme in this one, and Neptune fanning the fantasy. When the squares come, the atmosphere should be quite different.

Aries gives a lot of power to the individual, not here yet. The rage is building now, however, in preparation.

The interesting time is in about five years, when Saturn is in Scorpio with these squares, and Pluto opposite USA Sun. Whatever power that indicates is not superficial and it comes from the center of the body politic, the place that still eludes people. If the leaders fail, the chances of finding that center is improved.

I see the Witch (Pluto) as the character who puts the spell on the kingdom, where the final result is the kingdom is purged, made more right and whole. It is the energy of anger at that which is not right in the kingdom and provoking it to be worked out. So, in that case, we all partake of that energy, so much so that it gains momentum and builds in volume. She would be the iceberg for the Titanic.

I know what you mean dble A. It's hard not to despair with Uranus deep in Pisces and the country not having the strength and energy yet. Feeling victimized. Aries have a hard time with that since they always feel that NOW is the time. But it will be soon, and I think we might get benefits in our personal lives, seeing some action we've been waiting a long time for. Soon, frustration will replace sadness, and the beautiful motivation of pure anger will kick in with the desire to do something about it.

Nothing moves without conflict as this sedated country is soon to discover. Some are ahead of the curve.

We participated in this game and created this system, or at least perpetuated it (I struggled with this fact earlier in life greatly). I've stopped participating to the extent that I can do so right now, which is why I'm not offended by it so much. I never wanted to participate so it is actually a great relief. I feel vindicated.

I watched the film adapatation of Milan Kundera's "Unbearable Lightness of Being" last night and was inspired how the Doctor became a window washer and then a farmer rather than sign on with the corrupt regime. All he had to do was sign one piece of paper, but he didn't do it and had a great life anyway...

The older woman loses her female hormones and her adrenal glands get activated. She develops more masculine traits and you can see it clearly in her deepening voice. In this sense I thnk she represents Capricorn well in the blend of genders. The 4th-10th house axis in the chart can represent either parent, and I think Capricorn is the ideal combination of father and mother. Maybe with this Pluto return a good older woman will become president.

Michael Lutin chimes in ....

The hullabaloo with Obama, Geithner and AIG is only the first shot. There's a giant explosion coming to Washington. Mars is approaching Uranus and that is going to blow at least one lid off the administration as the public rage grows. For the moment people are paralyzed looking for someone to blame and simmering. Watch the escalation as Mars moves forward reaching a culmination in mid-April around tax time. This is only the beginning.

Good point about tax time. Very interesting. And wouldn't you know it??? That's exactly when Venus is back at 29 Pisces with Mars following. Just that week.

Venus in Aries is starting the rage due with Uranus in Aries, and we're lucky. It's giving us a slow and easy start with plenty of time to adjust. But April 15th does stand out.

You can see that anger can be controlled and used, part of the lessons ahead. There's a lot after being zombied out with this blind following game and the anti-depressants. It's all orchestrated to motivate the collective toward this change thing. Actually people don't want it yet. They're getting crazy out there pretending it's not happening as they sit in their empty stores with the certain high pitched laughter that spells h-y-s-t-e-r-i-a.
But that's always ready to pop anyway, I've noticed. Homo sapiens are a nervous bunch. We'll be all right. The gods might be kind, being as we're giving it a good college try.

JM, Joe, I'm really enjoying the Baba Yaga links!

Melanie, what you say really makes no sense and does not attempt to understand any of the structural issues the -global- economy is facing. Honestly it is a real mess. And I, personally, think that we should have universal health care (it CAN be done well) since it is such a big link in the chain. This would be real change, people would feel much more secure and safe and the cost savings to individuals, businesses and corporations would be HUGE and meaningful. But it would require a real fight and in the end real Change!

So, no good just accusing others of being yuppie or racist, and that is tiresome - we had 8 years of either you are with me or you are against me with Bush. If you doubt there is a sense of national, and global, panic just surf around. Pluto highlighted the expansiveness of Jupiter which degenerated into greed, now it will highlight the fear of Saturn.

Btw, I understood the word came from someone else's comment, but I still credited you for teaching it to me. It matters not where it originated.

but I am guessing this blog is 60 something peaceniks who just sit around typing nonsensical philosophy.

Joe once sagely said, "Be careful with your assumptions." We are all types here. I think you're right about the philosophical aspect, and I also agree, melanie, that some of it is conjecture. But some of it is accurate. Those are the chances you take in self expression. I have been philosophical all my life and I will continue to be so. It's my mainstay. I find a glorious buffet of ideas here. You pick what you want. I simply don't understand why those who don't like it, consume it. Isn't this part of our fundamental problem of greed? Consuming what you don't like?

The top heavy economy is crashing and those small- souled greedy ones are grasping for our tax dollars.

Melanie. Listen to me. This is the crux of our trouble. You think it's only the rich cheaters that have caused your unhappiness. That's not true. Many of those "small souled greedy ones" were largely like you early in their lives - at the bottom. It's been habits practiced by all of us, rich and poor, all throughout our history. And who are you to judge the size of someone's soul?

This is the immature posture of most everybody and until the whole group looks at its own hedonism, your fantasy won't happen. I don't think it will. People are incredibly resistant to looking at their parts. You, melanie, are enjoying your good life on the backs of the poor all over the world.

Many of you have not struggled with oppression like my family did, and maybe one day you'll have to to become wise. You've had everything handed to you materially. Many of you. You don't understand political uprising. Now on the verge of a little inconvenience you are in a panic. And I don't understand exactly what your complaint is. Maybe you could calm down and articulate it better.

I don't know what it is about the people who express themselves here, who seem to light fires in others. According to my disaster cleanup friend, water is worse!!

"Paroxysm of rage". That's what I got.

Running the risk of being a little philosophical once again, and even reminiscent, I recall being with the spiritual community in India and learning one big lesson.

I was unhappy with the hypocrisy of those that claimed to have "large souls" filled with compassion and divine light. What I found was a lot of coverup and pretense at being good. The one common factor with my adversaries here is the personal insult and emotional cruelty, which goes against the aim as I understand it. Sometimes a little bit of the philosophical helps you to elevate that and discuss ideas.

Then, in India, I found an unusual teacher and he was loved by the villagers, but not all of them. One day he got into a huge quarrel which got my attention. I realized that opposition was probably a good sign and that the chance of ultimately being effective was increased by the energy. If everybody follows blindly, the thing is ruined. The resistance to our spiritual and political styles here, could be a good omen. I don't like some the personal stuff, myself, but people are who they are, and if their intentions are good, a lot can be overlooked. And we're fairly human.

I find the same hypocrisy with people who claim to be on the side of the poor, believing the common folk are superior. That's arrogant and naive. So beyond taxation, I think this country has a lot to learn about real compassion, if that's important to you. It's OK to hate a rich man, but not OK to criticize the current government. I find that troublesome.

Where do you think these people came from? They are a reflection of all of us. The cure is more than assassinating the wealthy and criminal. Pluto will get to you, too. He's far from finished.

Things are heating up and people are scared, now that the disappointment with Obama is coming in. They seemed to see him as the only savior amidst the thieves, but that dream will have to recede. With Uranus is Aries we're on our own and we're getting ready. As I've said before, this is systemic, not about personalities. You can put them all in jail and the same broken system remains with you, me, and everyone else ready to rebuild the same hedonistic one again unless deeper changes occur. Most humans have a hard time managing desire, the lesson of Pluto.

Would you forcibly give up your home and possessions? Think about it. Everyone protects their stuff and the scramble to save assets hasn't even begun yet, both rich and not-rich.

At this point, no one knows where it's going, and part of the fear and frustration is not knowing what to do. But honestly, it's not time yet. We have to see where it lands.

Sorry DXP, 'pissed off' isn't quite tasty enough for me, I'd prefer more delicious terminology, such as, overwrought with fucking liberal hyperbole. Or maybe just skip Key West and pay a visit.....HERE...

Heheh. And that isn't even philosophical.:) It's poetry which is definitely allowed.

This is a good education, being as the Aries-Capricorn years are ahead. We're going to see a lot lot lot of this. People trying to control things and other people. In the end it's good, as some self discipline might result, including in the hedonistic area. But this is exactly Aries-Cap. The individual against authority.

I'm an Aries rising, chiron is Sag rising with ruling Jupiter in Aries. This is the thing about Aries, and possibly the most Aries of all, dble A, can verify. It's not surprising since the Sun just came in to join Venus in this feisty sign.

The surest way to get an Aries to do something is to tell her not to do it. And conversely, if you tell her not to, every instinct in her cells tells her to do it.

Later she will think about it and often see that the authority was correct, and being basically cooperative, she will acquiesce and adjust. But you have to give her a minute and sometimes expect an uptick in the offensive behavior at first. It's a survival mechanism and it's handy in a pinch.

Anyway. y'all are going to have Uranus in Aries in your charts. Good luck. The horror of being true to one's self.

Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the most Aries of them all.

As I've said a trillion times, Aries muscles against resistance to build needed strength. It's natural and necessary. Defiance is part of it.

LOL, chiron. Wise.

It's exactly like the Piscean terminology ... "Whatever."

Oh yeah. Karl Rove. And Genghis Kahn.

Not without a fight, but I wonder if it even matters. I don't really have a clue. I just know what I enjoy and it really doesn't take much money. I don't want to work with assholes again though. Been there done that. I hate being beholden to others.

It's called credit and debt and there you have it. No wonder the nattering ones are screaming. They're just about to find out some things about bondage by their own doing.

It's also been referred to as selling souls, be they large, small, or medium-sized.

The people of this country sold their futures for credit. Now they have huge expensive homes, cars, and countless other things on which they owe most of the buying price. They are losing their jobs and can't sell these things, yet the payments are due. They grabbed for easy money in illusion-laced retirement accounts which are now locked up. Exactly whose fault is this? Who held a gun to their heads and told them to indulge their hedonism? What good does it do to rip up other people who aren't doing what you want? Each one has his own dilemma to deal with in the upcoming years as we try and sort out this collective economic sickness. There's plenty to do and passing the buck is useless, since there aren't many bucks to pass, and what there are, are losing value.

Chiron, that website was so very refreshing! And did you notice the facebookfuckiteer is napping in a hammock? Quite the chill pill. I'll try to be more poetic in the future! I've been hanging around too many teenagers once again (not that they are not poetic, but "pissed" and "hurl" are endemic to teens)

on another note.... so many people are bankrupted by medical bills, yet another result from not having universal health care. I have a friend who is having to help her elderly, frail, and rather confused mother declare bankruptcy because she ran her credit cards up. Easy to judge but she is caring for a sick husband, and is retired and on a (small) fixed income and the credit was readily available and it got out of control while she really really did not want to face it. Its tragic. She will have to put the husband in some sort of home and sell her run down, nearly worthless and impossible to sell house and move in with a son. Did she misuse credit? Yes. But paying for utilities with credit is common for many. There are many who misuse credit to get things they cannot pay for in a greedy way, but so many have misused it just to get by.

The funny (or not so funny thing depending...) is that this isn't remotely hedonistic way to live in reality. It's paranoid.

My secret joy is superfluous energy. It's in hiding because I know the ire it arouses. But I'll find a place to do the impossible again when the time comes again. It's coming soon.

Every so often I catch a glimpse of that like a slip showing.

That time can't come soon enough.
Once Uranus passes go at 29 Pisces, look out.

I love that site and I think it's spiritual in the genuine way.

The point is that we all have to think about changing habits and that's coming with the Cancer oppositions. It's no surprise that insurance is in the headlines, one of the bigget problems worldwide. All about protecting assets.

People give their money to thieves then wonder what happened.

29 Pisces is closing off all our escape routes and that's part of the panic, I believe. Some of us dream of escaping to an island or chasing infinite possibilities, or diddling away in creative pursuits like me, but no one is exempt. There's some reality and limitation that every one of us has to face first. Then the routes will open up.

You'll see this more and more as entrapment builds with Uranus leaving and the oppositions to Saturn. Then there's one coming when Uranus enters Aries. A different kind. We'll get sprung but not before these routes are sufficiently closed off.

I feel a solidarity, continuity, and sense of purpose among the people here that's kind of unique. There's real energy in the cohesiveness and the goal seems to be an idealistic one rather than defeating (talking about) others, although that's could be included in places. The sights are set high.

This genuine focused potential energy is going to come in handy, whether it manifests in societal benefits or personal ones. Hopefully both.

Exactly what popped into my head last night!! Pluto in Sagittarius was remarkably good at creating an atmosphere where everyone basically ignored financial reality and signed on the dotted line anyway.

In my case, I seem to have been born with a natural immunity to wanting "things". Not quite sure why either. Still driving my 22 yr old pick up that's been paid for long since and we're within a year of paying off a 20 yr mortgage - all while living comfortably on less than 40K/year. Sure wish there was some way to vaccinate others from myself!!

I am guessing this blog is 60 something peaceniks who just sit around typing nonsensical philosophy. Produce something already!

I missed this up thread. "Produce something already". This is a big part of what my twenty something and now 30 something rebellion is about. And as far as I can see, a great many people spend their whole lives being very productive producing complete crap. If I eat a lot of food, them I'm very productive.

And onto the discussions... I don't expect them to produce anything. Maybe they can reduce somethings. It's a campfire chat to me. A good story, insight or laugh here and there and sharing of perspectives is what we experience.

And that's about what we're doing here. I was also poked by the productive nonsense, but they don't understand in this society where being too busy is a religion. Great comment.
