Never a Dull Moment

That's what they say about those who come into this world under the auspices of Leo.
A Leo is born to entertain. He's imbued with a high sense of drama and the skills to create it. Heroes, villians, and the multitudes are all engaged.

I have extensive personal experience with Leos and I can attest to that description of never encountering a dull moment. There's commotion everywhere with a perpetually charging battery. The radiant power of the sun symbolizes his persona. As you know, it's hot and brilliant. Fortunately, the moon takes over at night so the world can get a rest.

Leo is a master of the Grand Gesture as I call it. His strokes are larger than others. They have to reach the far ends of the audience.

He also seems to equate the performance with life itself. The show must go on, with slight lulls, but never really a dull moment. So it is.

Free in Florida

The state of Florida has moved counter to the established order in dealing with the coronavirus situation. The state remains open and restrictions are not much different from what they normally are. The virus statistics are very good.

So curiosity led me to crack open my trusty book delineating horoscopes of American states and cities, and there it was! The Sunshine State has four planets in Aquarius -- Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Neptune. That indicates independence, sometimes rebellion, uniqueness, and the reverse of what's expected. Added to that are Jupiter and Uranus conjunct in Aries. Pluto is in Aries also. The bold Aries placements reflect Florida's drive to stick up for itself and make its own decisions. The state knows what's best for the citizens and will act to protect its autonomy. The people themselves are entrusted
with decisions regarding the coronavirus.

Florida went ahead on its own until recently. Now the federal government is threatening the independent state with authoritarian commands unrelated to the local situation. The governor is resisting vigorously. It could be the movement of planets into Aquarius that has set this state's natural inclination toward liberty into motion, as well as the general Aquarian backlash to the recent authoritarian Capricorn squeeze.

In the United States republic, a federal government oversees a collection of independent
sovereign states. The amount of power each has is often in question and is probably the defining challenge of the country since its birth. With  America's Moon and south node in Aquarius, freedom provides safety. The country fought against great odds to establish her independence and happened to choose a Moon in Aquarius to set the pursuit in motion.

It's not at all surprising that Florida is taking the lead in this moment herald
ing many years of Aquarian influence.

The Unreliables

Some concerned folks have changed the name of the modern green "renewable" energy sources to the "Unreliables." The Texas energy disaster reinforces that view.

The Lone Star State has Saturn, Neptune, and Venus in Aquarius and  Mercury, Sun, and Moon in Saturn's sign, Capricorn. The Sun almost exactly squares Uranus in Aries.

Uranus, the astrological ruler of electricity, is in earthy Taurus currently, and an exact square aspect to Saturn in airy Aquarius, governing wind, was underway when Texas blew. Both wind and traditional under earth energy sources were affected. Frozen windmills and overall system parts, along with voltage irregularities caused massive outages.

People crave reliability but we all know there is no guarantee of that. Uranus is known for the unexpected. This uppity planet can reflect major disruptions in the status quo.

Uranus and Aquarius rule alternative technologies while Saturn identifies traditional and reliable ones. In keeping with the state's Aquarius-Capricorn combo, Texas has vast fossil fuel reserves but has been leaning toward windmills. Tilting, one could say. Both were implicated in this event along with another major culprit; human error.

Nature and Man are both at odds and in harmony. There are many trade offs. Uranus has certainly lived up to its reputation as an awakener. Perhaps Saturn's responsibility can eventually settle this conflicted square.

Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus set in motion a Saturnian recognition of reality concerning the Unreliables. They can still be useful but intelligence and reason, Uranus and Saturn, might be the real Reliables going forward.

Laziness or Wisdom

"It is only when we realize that life is taking us nowhere that it begins to have meaning."
Peter Dimianovich Ouspensky

A technique used in mystical development is called self-observation, whereby an individual watches himself and the world without judgement or interference. He is a detached participant free from the uneasiness of personal absorption.

It reminds of the Taoist wu wei.  This approach is one of inaction allowing events to take their natural course. The world is right as is.

I've experienced this phenomenon at times when all I see is patterns, colors, shapes, and things like that. Of course, these moments are free of threat, but threats can be both real and imagined. The moments of pure observation require no action. So does freedom precede these moments or is it a result? How much action is necessary in general? Does it matter?

Subsequently, I got to wondering if detached observation is laziness and an unwillingness to change situations, or if it's wisdom in understanding that things change themselves with or without human interference. It is possible that end results are the same any way it goes?

Of course, people are wired to correct and repair what is faulty and broken. This requires active judgement when it comes to more obtuse circumstances. It also relies on other people's judgement which can be risky in terms of one's own life. Collective correction might benefit from some self-observation. Then there is the possibility that the world takes care of itself and human diddling is just an exercise of some kind. Something to do.

Full detached observation is probably impossible since the on-off switch that controls imagination is hard to locate. But maybe a certain amount of laziness does lead to wisdom.

A King by Birthright

"Every man is a king through conscious awareness of his true identity. He need not try to be anything, he need only realize who he really is -- a king by birthright."
Vernon Howard

In the sign of Leo, the individual becomes cognizant of who he is. He individuates at birth, but recognition of his separateness comes in Leo. With it comes a feeling of  being mighty and dominant, not over others, but over the previous self. He is dominant over his fears and insignificance.  A king is born, a sovereign takes his throne.

In America the idea of personal sovereignty is associated with independence and the sign of Aquarius. Our rights are natural and they come with birth. The country has a lunar south node in Aquarius. But across from the south is the Leo north node, which makes her citizens more than just independent. They are regal inheritors of the right to rule themselves with supreme dignity.

Sometimes people are reluctant to accept the mantle of superiority and royal sovereignty. It takes time, will, and understanding. Still, human history refers to the ideal of this phenomenon as the Kingdom of Heaven that exists within. It's odd that human goodness is identified as kingly. That is arguable, of course. But the idea of sovereignty over self is probably incontestable, when it comes to creating a good life.

The Impeachment Champ

Donald Trump holds the record for the most impeachments and acquittals of any American president. The accusers should know better, but they're really not to blame. How could they see his battle tested Mars in Leo rising on the hidden side of his ascendant? I wouldn't take him on.

Then we have his Pluto in the 12th house with its regenerative spiritual power and reliance on the effectiveness of belief. It's true that a Pluto 12th sometimes seeks suffering but fantasy trials don't cut it with these types. His 12th house karmic liability is a little beyond their reach. And there's always the possibility of karmic asset lurking there. They certainly take their chances.

Jupiter and Saturn are transiting opposite the supposed perpetrator's Pluto now so the accusers were up against some high cards. Uranus is in square aspect. Uranus, the wild card. You mean the joker?

Crimes, fantasies, and farces. All in a week's work for our esteemed law makers. Maybe they should pay attention to the Uranus Saturn square upsetting the governmental status quo. There's plenty more to come. Good thing they've fenced themselves in. That's a helluva gated community!

Congratulations Champ!

Gracious Relationship

America's four planets in Cancer - Sun, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury - make for a variety of emotional responses. "I hate you, I don't want to hear it!" is one. But in square aspect to the Cancer stellium is Saturn in Libra, which says, "I disagree, I like you, let's discuss it." It's easy to see both approaches on the public stage with some talking fast and loud, interrupting and talking over one another, while others have civilized respectful conversations.

The country's combative Mars in talkative Gemini contributes to the belligerence, and sometimes speed can interfere with relaxed give and take in conversation. I always enjoy the Libran ability to listen, comprehend, and respond in kind, true to its love of balance.

The Cancer influence, and Mars, sometime create a fearful breathlessness in public discourse. People seem to like the excitement, the high emotion, the cruel put downs, and the wild hyperbole, possibly to avoid boredom. The Libran even pacing and lack of heart tripping and flipping leave some out in the cold. Still, these reason based exchanges occur quite frequently.

Saturn in Libra requires time and effort to develop polite skills. One would think 245 years would suffice, but who can tell?  No matter what, the end result is substantial, intelligent, and respectful discussion and debate. Logical problem solving is also a Libran specialty.

The mental dry Libran approach is one of good manners. With those come kindness, cooperation and all around gracious relationship, with equality at the heart.

The Great Trial

We're in the lull before the next magnificent event. The Great Trump Trial. Cecil B. DeMille would be envious.

His favorite politicians can't let him go. He's their reason for breathing. They have no confidence, no spirit, and no love of life. They wander cold in the wilderness. Were they serious about banishing him they would simply ignore him. But that really is an impossible feat. He's their burning light.

Will the Great Donald Trump be found guilty of no one seems to know what? It's too soon to tell. The big trial continues until perhaps the end of time.

The questions remain ........ Who is guilty of what? And where does judgement come from?

Leo and Happiness

Leo likes multiplication. The more of him the better.

When the native enters Leo, after inhibited Cancer, the first sight of himself exposed showers him with happiness.
He sees his output as a magnificent thing and is eager to show off his love of himself to everyone else, knowing they also will feel joy.

The sensation wells up in his chest from his heart, the seat of love and Leo. It spills out to the world. The revealed figure discovers who he is and finds the power of his will. He uncovers dominance. He is significant. He is remarkable. He is supreme.

With radiant high heat and light, Leo attracts, and the audience gathers. People react to the self love and often feel their own aroused, so they give grand Leo command of the spotlight. He's happy to be there and so are the people. They're often thrilled.

The happiness of  self love projected is, I've concluded, the ecstatic start of creation.
Selves birthing selves in never ending exuberant multiplication.
